I have not seen the full video, I left it at minute 5 and I really felt everything you said, I have been tattooing for 3 years, I have gone through 3 tattoo studios and believe me that everything you say is true, I came here to express myself with great desire and doing what I'm passionate about and at this point in my career I feel heavy, disenchanted, stuck... I feel like I've become that tattoo artist who takes walk ins and simply does what clients ask for, instead my drawings really represent what What I would like to do, from this video I will make an important decision from now on and even if it costs me I will become a true artist and be able to go far with my art, thanks for this video, seriously Daniel.

Bro you're an absolutely massive inspiration.. I was worried that I could never be a tattoo artist as I can't just take a blank piece of paper and draw something from scratch I do exactly what you do by taking a bunch of stuff and putting it together.. I honestly thought I was cheating I had no idea that you do it this way as well... very inspiring man. Please don't stop uploading 🙌😤

12 years tattooing… he’s right in his way.. stay hungry… stay with it or be passed up… I made my own needles with jigs and sterilizing with a pressure cooker back in the day… it’s a different experience for everyone I got laughed out of several tattoo shops and now I cover a lot of the guys work who put me down…. Be humble work hard that is the one and only true SECRET in tattooing.

I like your style for sure! I'm glad you have the guns to stick to your own style. I know you say you try to do both: give the customer what they want, but also make it unique and your own. It surprises me how many people in your comments like to bark about how "the customer is always right" and "you have to do what they want". I generally agree with you on the fact that you're the artist, they're the client. They can know what they want that's fine. How it will look should be up to you. Sure a client can have ideas like what elements they want. But, in my opinion, unless they're an artist and were brave enough to draw what they want on their skin, they shouldn't expect you to just do what they want...when they probably don't even know what that looks like. I am an artist, not nearly as well seasoned as you, but I been trying to draw the same tattoo for myself for 15 years. I still can't manage to draft one version of the tattoo I want on my body that I actually like, and I create penciled ideas for tats all the time. It really is hard to master, and when the piece has meaning to you, you want to get it right. I love your work and the passion you have for it! Keep going

I would like to know if you are interested in making a video teaching more about Autodesk Skecthbook, as it is the program I use and I think it is perfect and very practical, I see that most tattoo artists use Procreate and I have used it and I didn't like it, would you like If you make a video teaching about him and how he manipulates his images, I believe it would be a great success in addition to being a fan request. Very important things in this video. I'm just tattooing since less than 2 years and always try to explain to customers that I create things inspired by their ideas but don't want to just copy an image from internet (tattooartist vs tattoist) This way they have unique tattoos, and I'm happy with the drawing/composition I made. I never worked in studio with other artists because I won't be the newbie who have to do letters, dates etc to make easy money in the studio. Not to criticize tattooists who are doing that, I just think when you start to accept doing everything, you can be trapped in this circle of boring projects which can't push you to create your style/visuals which will represents you as an artist. That's why I refuse many customers when they don't let me create my stuffs.

Funny thing in art university the first thing that did learn it's anyone can be artis... tattoo industry has changed a lot now the techniques are more common knowledge what it's making the difference its creativity ... a style that no has showed b4.. something new never seen it ... and that's the difficult part in design painting sculpture music art in general..take an artwork from another artist like a photo of a statue and make same on the skin.. i see technique not creativity... just like the tattoo that you doing... we all using reference from someone else... we all have clients that not necessarily want to have we wanna tattooing...whatever that we create we have already seen it b4 Guy Atchison and his textures.. more or less inspired clearly by Giger... by the way I'm including myself in this too... have a wonderful day stay positive ❤

Sailor Jerry would be laughing at the tattoo community right now, tattoos were meant for the outcasts and weirdos of life. Not for 45 year old Karen’s or the 22 year old gym bros. Keep it funky, keep it gritty, keep it ugly, keep it weird, no need to overthink this stuff. If you’re meant to be a factor you will be. If not, it was never meant to be in your favor.

This kind of narrative is only damaging to us as a community. And all you can do is make some snarky, passive aggressive remark? We get enough hate, and you want to pursue in-fighting? I said what I said. Its Gatekeeping.

All there is in tattoo world about 99% is copies, copies of photos with some arangements addinng this or that, nothing special. No need to talk about statues, all copies from photos else. Especially that Neptune statue,I lost counting on how many timew people have done the same tattoo over and over. Didn't none teel them clients that is too common ? ANd I doubt if anyone knows what this statue is all about theologicaly,, ancient Greece speaking... Anyway..
