Buu didn't want to actually blow up,his self destruction was just a distraction,he disappeared for 1 hour so that goten and trunks could fuse again(fusion has a 1 hour cooldown),he taunted the boys and asked them to turn into gotenks,then he absorbed gotenks cause of his power and piccolo for his wisdom,then he started to clap gohan until goku arrived and tried to save the day.

Negative Fat Buu did an explosion technique on this scale though clearly not as powerful as Super Buu before Vegeta did his Final Explosion move. "Big Power" in a low voice by Fat Buu in the OG dub still gives me chills. It's even shown again in DBZ Fighterz by Fat Buu.

This is SUCH a good moment. Up till this point, Buu has either been screwing around or wild rage. Hell he'd just recently screamed his way out of another dimension cuz he wanted candy. This was one of, if not, the first time we saw a calm, collected and calculating Buu who very clearly was cooking up something diabolical.

@@blob5907 Kai isn’t the only time they remastered Z. This clip is from the original Funimation broadcast where they put a filter on his voice to make it deeper. The remastered Z has the same voice actors but they removed the filter on his voice.

Kai is definitely paced better, but I also remember watching Kai airing as a teenager and being disappointed by a number of changes.

Road to the chamber was composed by Julius Dobos. Out for the 300 tracks from the american soundtrack, only a handful was composed by Faulconer, and the most memorable ones arent among them.

Zamasu was a far more interesting character than Buu ever was! Sorry, but next to Cell and Frieza Buu felt like filling. To me, the greatest villain of the franchise is Moro.

Dude just had a literal god complex and thought himself better than everyone else, even tho people like Frieza already tower over him in terms of power. Doesn't get more delusional than that. Frieza himself is fun to watch, but especially back in DBZ he was the most stereotypical in terms of villains. Cell was pure joy to watch. Just a monster who achieved perfection and wanted to experience a challenge before killing everyone.

Kid Buu frame 1 after coming to existence IMMEDIATELY went to blow up the planet for no real reason whilst Cell was being backed into a corner with his genetic Saiyan pride on the line that he needed to have the last laugh. Yet there’s still people that say other anime characters could take Kid Buu smh.

It's just convenient for the plot/sanity of the storyline to not constantly treat the power levels of the extremely strong characters mathematically.

Man, this actually is spooky, like watching a crackhead in an entertainment district on a Friday night. He's just bouncing back and forth between inexplicable rage and cackling laughter for reasons that only make sense in his own head, and you can't figure out if he's about to actually do something stupid till it's too late. Props to the actors and crew for nailing the tension in this scene.

The way he calls Gohan "stupid boy" is hilarious! Is like Buu knows Gohan's fuckups.

Even the reaction is the same, confident ignorance which turns into a "OMG wtf I done goofed!" once they realize what is happening.

I believe his point was it doesnt matter if Mystic Gohan was stronger than Super Buu 1v1. As long as Buu can regenerate he can keep doing Final Explosions and win just by annihilating all life on Earth. Gohan might have been able to win a battle but he sure lost the war here. I don't think ordinary ki or physical attacks even work on Buu. You needs something like Genki or God ki powers to actually kill Majin Buu. Which is why the Spirit bomb worked against him.

1:22 I remember as a kid that immediately got my attention. I went from laughing thinking Gohan was about to destroy Buu and immediately realized he wasnt playing 😂

One thing that never got pointed out explicitly in the show: Buu kept copying techniques other fighters used on him. That was Vegeta's Final Explosion, among others.

Buu’s crazed smile during and after ‘you’re missing the point’ along with the sudden calm and self-assuredness of the line itself is probably the single scariest thing in DBZ. Imperfect Cell’s introduction is up there too mind you.

*You're going to pay for everything you did to me!* The change of his vocal pitch gives me chills.

Majin Boo: Catching people off guard by acting dumb and innocent. Super Boo: Able to plot vicious Schemes to come out on top. Kid Boo: Completely unhinged and a very fast learner. Similarities between the three: Always unpredictable, very creative, brutal and easy to irritate.

This version of buu was by far the best one as far as story telling goes
