Hope you all enjoy the video!

Videos like this are what made me a fan of this channel. I came across this channel right after you guys did the Hemi swap, and then the axles and RockKrawler suspension. These informative, and I could even go as far as saying educational, type videos are awesome for people looking to modify their Jeep(s). This particular video about the Atlas answers a lot of questions I had about it. So thank you for this type of content, with the added action of actual off-roading and the icing on the cake that is the absolutely adorable Jelly Belly!! Keep doing what you’re doing guys, I for one love it!

Kevin and Brittany, hope you'll get an Atlas in your JL. I have an Altas in a 98 XJ and our JK both. The XJ uses a direct mechanical linkage like that shown on your video and has always shifted easily even with a 5.0 low range. The JK was a little tougher to dial in with the cable linkage, primarily because it's very tight clearance wise with the floor pan. Once I finally got it adjusted properly it shifts well. Once you go Atlas there's no going back. Most of our wheeling only requires 2 wheel drive until you reach an obstacle so this greatly reduces wear, tear, and strain on drivetrain and steering.

When I was a younger man, my dad took in a Toyota land cruzer 350 Chevy conversion, and I put a turbo 350 abvance adapter kit in the transmission to fit the Toyota transfer case, the customer I had (a man named David ) wanted to keep the stock transfer case. This is the easiest thing on the planet to do, we truck drivers and truck minded have shifted transmissions like this for ever, you will need to just make sure the rpm and the driveshaft and wheels are in synchronism, it elementary my people, be smarter than the metal , kool thanks BigAl California.

A small correction. The old Dana transfer cases could be shifted between 2 hi and 4 hi on the fly (as long as hubs were locked). You did generally have to stop to shift between low range and high range, although it was possible to shift on the fly by double clutching (my old Scout owners manual actually had instructions for doing the double clutch between ranges). My experience was with the Dana 20 used in IH Scouts, but I think the Dana 300 was a similar design.

I replaced it with a UD (ultimate dependabilty)(Nissan's diesel division) Roll off .. It was a great truck but the heat always failed .. And it was no where near as much fun to drive .. But it never needed anything .. Fuel oil grease .. Even had a greaser on the water pump..
