I purchased Wolverine off the shelf those many years back and have always wondered why that cover did not receive some love. Glad I kept and took care of it.

The thing about the Batman: Harley Quinn is Alex Ross' amazing work and the treacherous black cover that makes high grades rarer. Not surprised it has become a kind of perennial book.

As a long time wolverine fan (bought the first issue on release day) The yellow and blue never made sense to me for a hunter from Canada.

Avengers #8 is valuable for more than a movie

It really bugs me when people say ASM 300 is the first appearance of Venom. He first appeared in in Secret Wars 8!!!

Beneath the Trees Where Nobody Sees is such a great read. A few issue #1's sold for as high as forty to sixty as of late on eBay.

I love when Comic channels use click bait titles that dictate what us collectors are doing wrong. We are buying the wrong comics? Then we're told by these same channels, then they will say, "Buy what you like". 😅

I already called them out on it. This is where a channel shows what they are truly invested in. The collectors ? Their sponsors ? Their OWN collection? I have my answer.

One Lobo book that everyone should pay attention to is Justice League #18 which features the first Lobo with his modern look. Gone is the orange and purple unitard and his resemblance to Keith Giffen’s own Lunatik from his 70s Defenders run; that issue is the first recognizable point in the evolution of The Main Man. Over the years, I’ve culled most issues from my 1988 Wolverine run after #10 (a key Sabretooth issue), but #17 is the only issue from the Byrne run in that title I kept, because of the cover. Maybe because I bought it new and I’m nostalgic but that’s a pretty iconic pose, in my mind. Even moreso than popular covers by Jim Lee.

Lobo wasn't Lobo until they got Bisley in on the action. Lobo is currently destroyed as a character in modern DC, it really is something anyone involved with what they did to the Lobo IP should be fired for. Fired out of a cannon to be clear.

Interesting I actually bought the wolverine issue 17 from the $1 bin a few months ago at one of my local comic book shop. I’m really surprised why they threw it in there. Lately I’m able to find really nice books in the $1 bin which makes me question how profitable is it to run a comic book shop.

Youre not getting Beneath the Trees #1 for 20 bucks any more 😆

Where do you see print run numbers for comics?

I too 'am not a fan of the Wolverine #17 cover either, last year i was at a local comicbook event where there were vendors selling comics, i was digging through $1.00 dollar boxes, i picked some X-Men and Wolverine books but placed them back because i didn't care for them much especially the first appearance of Psylock and some X-Factor #62-#63 especially when i know what i really wanted if the comic cover did indeed interests me. When of course i stumbled upon Wolverine #17. i debated whether to get Wolverine #23 black cover with Wolverine's claws reflecting off of a villain from each claw which to me looked cool or Wolverine#17 a cover everyone talks about, of course i ended up picking Wolverine #23 over Wolverine #17, happy i did. And yes there are way better Wolverine covers than the next depending upon one's interests and preference of either covers to like. I will admit Wolverine #17 red background color does make Wolverine pop more on the cover but that's all, nothing exciting or anything happening other than Wolverine in a mid air floating attack pose, but yet is a noticeable well known cover by artist John Bryne. MCU needs to reconsider rehiring Majors, back on the set for him to continue as the Kang character. After the announcement of Majors going to jail for a year, i think MCU needs to hold off a while to make a decision on hiring him back for the Kang Dynasty movie. Look at the double standards how the situation goes when it comes to Ezra Miller acted out as a fool that went out on social media and yet was able to finish the Flash movie with no jail time. And the Depp and Heard situation where they too didn't serve any jail time after seeing evidence of them in their private homes which too was in social media, though Depp was fired from Disney having to continue to play the Jack Sparrow character in Pirates of the Caribbean, nonetheless didn't get jail time nor Heard either. It's messed up.

Depp was the victim of a Psycho. The other "celebs" you mentioned committed crimes in some cases several. But Majors is a great man, GREAT MAN! I had never heard of him but why would he yell it at his woman if it wasn't true?

@@stormshadowctf It's a preference thing and besides if the cover itself catches my eye because it looks cool i'll pick it up key or no key issues as long as it's reasonably priced especially for $1.00 dollar. Now on the other hand if the comic cover looks cool but the interior art is not as good as the cover i might not want to keep the comic any longer because of the interior art. Cosmic Ghost Rider Destroys Marvel History #5, is an example. Cool Cosmic Ghost Rider cover but horrible trashy interior art. But don't get me wrong if i do come across some books i let go before because i didn't want them at the time for the same price i saw for $1.00 dollar in the future, i'll definitely will then picked them up.

Merry Christmas. Now with these new “artists” are they drawing these covers free hand? Or using technology? Like I seen McFarland “draw” spawn and he used a computer to “draw” for him. He scribbled on a screen and the computer added the texture and coloring. Compared to days past I personally don’t consider these new “artist” as true artists of the past. If I’m completely wrong I’ll admit it. But is it computer generated or freehand?

The vast majority of comic artists still use traditional materials. The vast majority of the artists who use digital do it in a traditional way with no 'AI' or anything like that.

It's both. We definitely have a new wave of artists that are doing work with a digital pen and pad or sometimes even with a mouse on a computer. There are even more artists that are actually doing it physically with copic and posca pens. There are even some that are doing work in watercolor and oil paint like our buddy Johnny d! The artists I have talked to like to do something physically so they can sell the digital rights to the art and then sell the physical art for someone to have. It helps artists and collectors.
