Laura the poncho is gorgeous and looks beautiful on you. Love the painting. Being an artist myself, I can tell you that I sign my paintings all over them, some on the back, some on the bottom right, some on the bottom edge of the image itself so dont let that throw you. Artists styles change as they grow and go through different periods of their careers. I think the sigs look the same so In my opinion, your golden! Thickness of paint not a big deal but look at the brush strokes, brush strokes are like a signature so say if the brush stroke has rough edges, edges that trail off or have hard outlines. Artists are very expressive so if you look at a Jackson Pollock, even though the paintings are of paint "splashes" they hold a character that is only personal to his. You and Jessie should visit a painting gallery of the old masters sometime, like Guggenheim in NY and just look at the different brush strokes and light sources each artist uses. It would be a fantastic learning experience for you and help you identify artists faster❤

My dad was friends with De Grazia he would come to the house all the time when I was a kid, my dad would have coffee every morning at a coffee shop while they sat and talked Ted would doodle on the napkins and then get up and walk away my dad would pick them up and take them home LOL.

Definitely original fruit bowl but not the right for your style. Possibly 1940s
The parasol lampshade may be meant to hang upside down, from a corded bulb, as a pendant lamp. Then gravity would hold it open. That would also explain why it is not vented -open at the pointy end, for heat to escape so that it does not overheat or catch on fire. Anyhow, that is my guess, that it is meant to work with a corded bulb as a ceiling-pendant-hanging light ❤

I have one like that. Mine doesn't open very far either, it only came with the little wooden stick on a string. They were Urban Outfitters brand. My friend and I each bought one several years ago at Gabriel Brothers store. Mine is red and off-white or beige. I use it on a lamp that was my grandma's that I think she said was from the 40's (it is black and has the town drunk swinging around a lamp post. It used to have a globe shade but that part broke. I love your show! Just found it a few days ago and have been binge-watching.

I also LOVE the poncho! What a find!
Years ago I actually found two De grazia paintings at a GW near me! I got them for like 2.99 each because they had no idea what they were! A dear friend of mine (we have been best friends for 50 years now!) whose mother was into Arizona style decor and Indian things. When she saw them she burst into tears! I knew they had found the right home. Her son had them professionally framed and while she has passed they still hang in the home.
Girl, I'm commenting at the very start of this video before I even watch it. I just wanna say that every time I see that you have a new video up, it literally puts a smile on my face! Thank you for all that you do!

Laura that piece with the chip looks beautiful as is. It gives it character.
I have a friend who paints. She signs her work on the back with pencil. When I asked why, she said she was inspired by her favorite artist who believed a true artists work should be known by the work itself, over seeing the signature. I can appreciate that.
My vote on the Ted deGrazia is YES I believe it is an original. I grew up in Tucson and of course his work was quite popular. I don't think it was uncommon at all for him to paint on whatever he had at hand at the moment. My mom had one painted on a thin slab of rock. And the signature? I just makes sense to me. Just my opinion but I hope it is!

@@salala4412 I agree. The top of the G is curved and there are several areas it looks like they started and stopped to readjust like the last "a" which is almost attached though there are other versions of his signature where there is a little trail to the "a".... I suppose the type of media they are using to sign makes a difference too. Artists do perfect their professional signatures over time so who knows.
The lampshade on the sculpture in the bedroom is perfect. Not too busy at all. It’s beautiful
I believe the wood set of 3 drawers that you want to use for silverware is actually drawers from each side of a treadle sewing machine! I have a treadle sewing machine and the drawers look exactly like that! Great idea to repurpose them! :)

I had a original 1950s DeGrazia pottery piece . I contacted his museum in Tucson & they were very helpful. The DeGrazia Gallery In The Sun.
That beautiful soon-to-be silverware drawer looks like it once belonged on the underside of an antique sewing machine table, especially with the keyholes.
The poncho is absolutely stunning... and it's perfect on you.
I just love your enthusiasm, curiosity and genuine spirit Laura! I too go down many a rabbit hole looking for information and inspiration… your videos are like a warm cup of tea for me- the perfect way to unwind at the end of the day!
If I had that beautiful pottery vase with the chip in the front, I would just paint the chipped area black to match the rest of the black on the vase. Because to me. it almost looks like a little slit in the dress. And I think it would look like it was part of the design. ❤
Love the suede poncho/cape. Great find!

Two videos this week 💃🎉
I've been to the De Grazia gallery in Tucson around 2009, last year, me and my husband went to a estate sale here in Colorado Springs and found a bunch of his work, series of plates, small paintings, candle holders and other stuff for $3 a piece. I scooped up a bunch of them because they were 50% off too🙂. That could be an original because he had his things license on a lot things too.
I think the lampshade number three is absolutely perfect on that lamp. Just perfect.❣️
My best friend who recently passed had an original signed by degrazia. It now hangs in her great grand daughter’s room. My friends mother actually knew degrazia and he gave her that painting!
Love how passionate you are about your finds. I've seen others change to just what they can make in money but it seems you truly love the items you find
Love the lampshade ❤ In Europe we call that poncho a cape because it’s a fitted garment; like a jacket without arms and a poncho’s traditionally are just a square piece of fabric with a hole in the middle. I’m so jealous of your amazing taste, for finding the right stuff and the eye for Mid Century Modern ( I’m still stuck in the pop art culture with crazy colours and materials 🎉)😘🇸🇪
The new "Fruit Boul" is out of place on your countertop. It looks like it needs a stack of magazines in it.I also like your idea to use it for towels.
I like the free form fruit bowl Lamp #1 The poncho is epic & fabulous on you You rock Laura 👍🏻
I love how you share your knowledge. I love to learn, but I have a difficult time retaining it. The poncho is so you!
Try the rack you had fruit in in the bathroom with hand towels and bath clothes. A beautiful piece!
Well that was fun , I’m not elitist , I hope not anyway just an old man who collects as an obsession. I was fascinated by the first store you went in. I haven’t found anything in the area like that store and it was great to see all those wonderful things. The way you buy things and stage them is a gift. I try to do that at home with no avail. I keep thinking that I’ll find that great thing like you did with the with the painting. Who cares what it is it’s brilliant. Of course for resale value I am sure you have a different opinion. I sure wish I had your eye for imagining what an item might be when set in the right scenario. You’re a pleasure to go shopping with if only via the phone. I look at my items here and am thankful for all my treasures , even if I am the only one who might appreciate them. Thanks again for the great tours and sharing your experiences with a senior. Be safe. Cheers Dan Dow
I like the old fruit bowl. The new piece with towels or magazines or maybe use in your pantry could be great. 😊
I'm in love with the poncho. I'd wear my lil ankle boots with it.
Poncho perfect for you but have the shoulders altered a touch and you will be more comfortable 😃 Also forget the chip in that one piece, old stuff has chips and dings and stains. I like it! Glad you bought it. Thanks fun trip💙
I love, love, love your poncho! I would grab that in a heartbeat. I had several ponchos back then. One was knitted and the other was crocheted. Both were done by family members. I wish I still had them.
I like the old round rustic fruit bowl BEST 😀
I like both fruit bowls, however, I would use the "newer to you" one for rolled up napkins with napkin rings in a dining area.
Years ago masonite board was the choice painting ground for oil paint. It was sturdy, stable easy to find and cost very little . Congratulations on your DeGrazia painting 🎨🖌️ 😊
Love the poncho. One of the things I love about your videos is that I often see things my husband and I had when we were starting out back in 1972.
That wooden walnut stain holder would look good in a bathroom with a fun washcloth arrangement or for magazines beside.
Stuck at home with the sleet and ice!...... What better than getting a little bit of my Laura fix in the middle of the week!
Laura I love your attitude towards things you like.... YOU WILL FIND IT SOMEDAY IN THE WILD... YOU WILL DO IT.. I LOVE YOUR HOME. AND YOUR HUBBY IS REAL HANDSOME :)
I still love the blue lamp for that space. Winner winner………
I think the chip at the bottom of the lady pottery piece is kinda nice. I actually love it like it is. I wouldn’t touch it.❤ You have beauty things. 😊
Laura, that poncho looks absolutely adorable on you. Ponchos can sometimes look too billowy, but this one hangs perfectly! Also, both fruit baskets are beautiful. One advantage of the newer one is that it offers more ventilation to keep larger produce fresher. Thanks for sharing another great haul!
Definitely love the older fruit bowl. I'm kinda' leaning toward lamp #3. Yes, it might be a little busy, but the other shade is just not working for my eye. You need some more blue in that table-scape! I'm no minimalist either, and I do not care for monotone rooms, and blue is my favorite color!
I love the rustic fruit bowl in your kitchen
The poncho is perfect! Great finds ❤
Love love the poncho on you .. pretty sure it was made for you ❤❤
The blue and white lampshade on the inside should have a wooden ring that slides up that piece of dowel on the outside locks it in. My grandmother had them on her bedside lamps hope that helps
Your filigree earrings and that amazing cape/coat looks AMAZING! ☺️
Hi hi from Johannesburg south Africa. Love the rustic bowl.
We have multiple fruit and vegetable bowls. Bounty. Nutrition. Health!
The rustic one. You could roll up kitchen towels that would be cute and handy in the new one.🙂
Laura, you have the most exquisite taste! Love seeing you put together items & discover really unique finds in vintage/antique shops, On your lamp dilemma, I love the 3rd, but that smashing shade does take away from the soft & simple form of the lamp itself, my opinion only, I'm staying tuned in!
Lamp #3 is adorable!
The jacket looks great on you, I vote yes, get it!
Love the lampshade on the tulip lamp
You look so stunning in the poncho. 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Rustic fruit bowl all the way! And def blue lamp vase
The Mexican cape looks great on you! Nice find!
The poncho is gorgeous.
Lamp #3. The poncho is everything. You are so adorable and can wear all that cute retro garb.I have been a thrifter for over 40 years & have many cool pieces.
I really love it on you. In fact, I just love it. It's perfect.
l the cape is very flattering on you. l prefer the rustic fruit bow. l agree the lamp shade is too busy, but l do love that tulip lamp in your bedroom.
Laura you always come out on the positive side when you follow your gut instinct; after all that is why you took home the painting in the first place. Wow, the pencil name signature, is even more exciting. And the leather-suede jacket from the 70s was made for you. It looks great on and was just waiting for YOU to walk in the store! It was a good morning Jesse.
I love watching you guys you always make the best out of your finds even if you do not find anything! You always are so happy and have a great attitude!
poncho is adorable and looks amazing on you!
Yeah Laura…you made my night!
Hi I'm a newbie but in love with all your videos and finds. I know nothing about art but have relatives that do. When there is in inspiration they will pick whatever to do a somekind of boceto untill they determine what to fix before the ending finish. The painting is still beautiful and at the end the wooden box you are using for napkins and spoons is actually part of the old black singer foot pedal sewing machine. I have two and both come with them. They were used for storage of needles, measuring tape, thread and all the other items needed. I didn't know if you knew. Can't wait for you next finds.
That poncho is delightful. You've got to style that baby up & do a IG photoshoot. If you styled it up with a pair of your gorgeous boots I'd probably die from happiness.
The poncho is very unique. It looks very pretty. Great decision that you bought it. It fits you perfectly, and you look beautiful wearing it.
The poncho is the kivk. Incredible!
The bowl hands down for me!
I’m with Jessie on the fruit bowl. Your new find would look good with towels in it for you bathroom.❤️

❤Years ago my husband and I lived very near Eugene and there were so many cool places to shop. Love watching you shop. Your enthusiasm is a real bright spot in my day.
I LOVE THAT PONCHO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I like the wood bowl for the island too but I would use the atomic one for onions somewhere else in the room... maybe on a lower shelf of an open cupboard or something. I love to have my onions in the kitchen area .. they are kind of like an art pieces of their own... I love your channel! You are so inspiring and the joy you have when you find special pieces flows right through the screen to us! I always wanted to open a vintage store but up until lately life was too busy and I wasn't able to... now I have a bit more flexibility with work and I have a huge collection of finds over the years and also lots of things that were passed down to me from my mother and grandparents but now I think I might have more time to start cleaning up the stuff I have and start selling some of it. Thank you again... I love your content and your design style. I went to school for 3 years for interior design and you have great design sense! Can't wait to see more!!!
So you're not going to believe it! but certain GWs in Scottsdale have what I call "rainbow day" ~ Every other Saturday they have EVERY COLOR 50% off w/ an additional random color 75% off. It is absolutely outrageous the savings and the goodies because Scottsdale is such a high end town. I don't know about the whole Phx valley because I only lived in Scottsdale for 4yrs leading into pandemic to reconnect with family but that kind of bargain is a resellers dream!! Not sure if they continued post panny because I bought a vintage motorhome to upscale and hit the road for a year driving east to return to my beloved Atlantic coast. So give them a check out if they're still doing every color Saturdays if you ever go to scour the Valley of the Sun. My faves were GW @ Talking Stick 🙌🙌 & another on Scottsdale Rd around McDowell Rd Central Phx has Melrose area on 7th Ave for tons of MCM & all around vintage shops ~ again if they survived the panny. And the valley pawn shops have oodles of turquoise baubles to stuff your pockets. Scottsdale also have some very charming ABnBs for easy get around and of course Sedona thrifting is just 1.5 hrs north xoxo, absolutely ❤ your channel, vibe and all you're doing. ~ Mia
I love lamp but you're correct that white and I blue shade too busy! Use Durham's water putty to fix chips on your ceramics, etc. 3 parts of Durham's powder to 1 part water and mix quickly on paper plate. Spread on chip. I smooth out with old paintbrush then let dry! It dries quickly so work quickly! Sand with fine sand paper if needed then paint if desired. I just did use it on a thrifted ceramic bunny then painted bunny with chalk paint. Then use a clear wax to seal. Buff off excess wax. PS I like fruit bowl you chose! The other one reminds me of primitive look of 1950s. Love your show! ps I went to Edinburgh and Inverness, Scotland 15 years ago! Hope you visited a haunted castle! Love your show! Trish
I love the poncho. When I saw you find it I hoped you would get it because it was made for you.
Love the cape. It’s totally you.
Last summer I found a DeGrazia painting at goodwill in Boise. It was beautifully framed and it was so hard to tell if it was authentic. Finally, I concluded that it was a print on canvas, and it came from his studio. Not as valuable as a painting but still very cool. I think his studio does authenticate his work, if you want to look into it.
Laura, goditi davvero il tuo lavoro, grazie per tutta l'ispirazione.
I'm going to put my vote in for the the umbrella lampshade. I think that the color needs to be introduced on your dresser and because the flower and the vines are both earthy it works
You might be able to get a small metal ring and J B weld to light bulb holder to make lampshade stand out.
I agree with Jesse. The new one would look great with skeins of knitting wool, not so much with fruit.
Eugene is a College town and you can find amazing art in both Eugene & Springfield. I lived there in the 1980's and I love thrifting there.
definitely option 3 on the lamp... not too busy....more original. Nice.
Poncho is adorable! I love that you find and wear stuff like this. So fun! Love your vibe. Watching you just makes me happy!!!
