I'm deciding what to get to build up a tyranid army from 1k points to 2k right now and this was very useful, thanks, liked and subscibed.

I had to build on a budget. I got the leviathan box half of the nids and ive been building that up. Ive got 80 termis now, a unit of hormagants, 20 genestealers and a brood, a tervigon, hive tyrant, 2 neurotyrants, a parasite of mortrex (lone operative), and a screamer killer. Also 2 10 units of neurogants

Awesome video, really like the format.

When move blocking T1, I would try for aiming at less than 100% jam if you can’t simply string out one unit are Gargs. Even jamming a small part of the enemy army will cause an asymmetrical move and board position from your opponent or cause him to slow down the whole army. I also move the termagants like tendrils, offensively with a fist for concentrated fire and defensively like a shield to block out vectors onto my monsters. This lets me stack auras and use the regen ability and when I’m ready to let the unit die, take casualties on the back and blood surge forward. The difficulty is planning the movement so the monsters don’t get jammed by their own units. Offensively, I lose about 5 models to the tendril, getting me 12” of reach, 18” counting the 6” aura. If the enemy is in the middle, I’m usually shooting all 20. I’m also leaning a lot more into 5+ sustained lethal. I’m undecided as to whether it is effective enough, but it does feast on 3+ saves. Full combo is 30 lethals off 2 units. Figuring out deployment and turn one is my current struggle. When I’ve got it right, the army has a massive presence on the board and an amazing ability to switch pressure across the battle line. When I’ve got it wrong, my swarms don’t get into key positions fast enough and my bunker of monsters and auras gets controlled by my own units.

Hey man, thanks for sharing these! I think the 5+ sustained and lethals are pretty effective against 3+ armour sv. Tendrilling out your units to give you the option of moving in multiple directions is a cool way to deploy IMHO.

Great video, I feel like I learned a lot & the in game breakdowns are excellent. I'd actually be tempted to give unending swarm a go if I had the energy to paint all those gaunts!

I feel like this covers a lot of bases for tyranids. Balanced between being able to run both invasion fleet and unending swarm. I would like to swap the screamer for something like an exocrine or even a neurolictor. To give a little more backline damage. Maybe some thropes as well. Gargoyles are great for this detatchment and i need to get my hands on some because they are the one unit im missing right now.

I feel the lack of an HT means you are missing out on a disgustingly survivable Tervigon. Having 60 Termies in squads of 20s (16 spinefists, 2 shard cannon and 2 barbed) supported by a Tervi will provide a threat that will shutdown the enemies attempts at challenging the center. Your undoing imo was the squads of 10 termis, they CANNOT pose a threat to anything really. Go big or go home with your model numbers

Do barbgaunts and deathleapers have a place in this?

The list that you mentioned is coming up at 2060, is it safe to assume you meant 2 Neurolictors not 3?

it is now! It wasn't then :( I've since changed it up
