This performance of "The Poet...." is legendary among Nightwish aficionados. The originals, with Marko singing the lead parts and then Anette doing them (in the studio - not live) are fine in and of themselves but Floor elevates this version to a whole new level. I honestly don't believe anyone could better portray the emotions Tuomas intended better then Floor has.

The FBI should use this song to identify psychopaths, because the person who is not moved by this masterpiece is already dead and doesn't know it

Emppu wasn't just chatting with Tuomas, he was asking him if everything was okay. Tuomas has always played this song with difficulty, it reminds him of a very bad time. Soon after Emppu tells the others that everything is ok. At the end of the song Marko and Emppu are close to Tuomas to comfort him and Floor, after the song, before thanking the audience, turns to see if Tuomas is okay. This song probably won't be performed by Nightwish anymore, Tuomas said that they are all changed now, times are different and there is no reason to perform this song anymore

Experiencing this performance of Poet and the Pendulum was literally lifechanging for myself. Tuomas Holopainen shared some of his deepest emotions and pain which allowed me to heal and process my own pain. Eternally grateful to Nightwish.

Emppu and Tuomas are not chatting socially. Emppu is checking if Tuomas is okay because it still touched him a lot.

Please note how the group looks out and after Tuomas during this performance and the run on the bass Marco does in his part without looking is insane . Composition masterpiece .

The brilliance, nuance and mastery of Tuomas’ songwriting lyrics and composition never ceases to amaze me. 3 minutes exactly from where he says “I have 3 minutes and counting “ is when he simulates with his hand the pendulum cutting his throat. This is just an amazing piece of music art!🤘🤘

None of us were there and we are only fools to posses the arrogance that we understand what any of them went through.

When you are talking about Tarja leaving, I like that you say "I wasn't there." That is the truth, we cannot know what exactly happened. Personally, I don't care. I think that Floor and the guys is a match made in heaven.

PP is very emotional. 64 years old here, and I discovered them by pure chance a couple of months ago when the algorithm suggested that I watch the 2013 performance of GLS in Wacken ... I got HOOKED! I'm now super addicted to their music, their performances, Floor's voice, and the many reaction videos out there ... their music/compositions are divine. I'm definitely a full-fledged member of the Nightwish Army ... this band and their masterpieces are life-changing ... hope one day I'll see them live ...

"I cannot die cos the shoulder cries more". There's no "no" in there, intentionally. The shoulder that cries more is possibly the other band members and Tuomas feeling unable to further burden them with his pain when they are dealing with their own.

Hi, 55 years, just a year ago i heard from nightwish only because floor came along on dutch tv. I was blown away, the whole band is an experiance...it helps me find hidden emotions, so easier for shadowwork and i never sang outloud because i really have a terrible voice, no joke, but i stepped out of my false comfort zone and daily sing along with nightwish or i performe for my dogs. They dont care when i sounds like a crow..they enjoy the attention.

After experiencing The Poet many many times, I only ever watch it now on genuine reactions like yourself. It affects me emotionally every single time. The connection between this song, the band and even the fans is magnetic 🔥🔥🔥🔥

This is one of the great performances of all time. Not just of this song, or in metal, but ever in music ever. The composition is deep, the vocals are tight and purposeful, there's no missed note or beat, even the stage show components are perfect, and to do it live is so phenomenal.

The gossip about Tuomas' "unrequited love" for Tarja is absolutely far-fetched and has no basis. Tarja started dating Marcelo (and later married him) many years before her dismissal and the real reasons for the split are described in the official biographical book of Nightwish and according to various participants of those events, were more related to business:

Oh, finally back to Nightwish, and how I had been waiting for you to react to this one, mostly to hear what you have to say about it!!... and also because it means we're one step closer to seeing your reaction to "The Greatest Show On Earth," which to me is the epitome of a masterpiece. As much as I love your other reactions, please don't make us wait too long!!
