    I've been learning cloud for a little over 2 months and looking to jump straight into the Solution Architect. AWS is by far the biggest as they were the incumbents, he's right, however, Microsoft Azure is by far the biggest in the corporate market place so a combination of both is a killer combo to have. Google Cloud Platform is the third biggest but they are side-stepping both AWS and Azure by focusing on machine learning in the cloud which will also be the future at some point.

From there you can learn to implement so many other skills in the cloud, like Docker, Python/Bash shell scripting, automation with Ansible and Puppet, and all these additional skills you can learn, with the rest of NetworkChucks library of content.

    I'm studying for the exam now. Any tips?

  • @GoodKid

    @GoodKid

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@MD-pz3cn Hmmm.... It's such a broad subject, I can't think of any SPECIFIC info you should focus on. Felt like it hit nearly everything. The biggest things for me were the 2 practice exams, the book quizzes you can take (assuming you're using the SANS OnDemand online variant), and the index. Not gonna lie, I struggled on the practice exams -- got a 70 and a 75, but the next week when I took the real one I got an 85. The real exam felt harder (or at least more stressful), but the practice exams absolutely helped me. The practices will tell you what you missed the instant you submit the question, so take note of everything you miss so you know what to touch up / study on (or hell take note of literally every question, up to you). And the quizzes say they're not exam prep, but I studied them pretty hard regardless and I'd be lying if I said it didn't help me. Not sure if you've taken a SANS exam before (this was my first), but by all means create and use an index. I used Microsoft Excel to create an egregious index, formatted alphabetically -- KEYWORD, DESCRIPTION, PAGE, BOOK. I made the descriptions pretty damn detailed as well. So 85% of the time I could look at my index and get an answer instead of having to look through my books. Put pretty much every thing on there be it process, tool, phrase, etc. -- from CloudTrail, CloudFront, etc. to tools like BurpeSuite, metasploit, Social Engineering Toolkit (SET), Scapy, etc. to each individual step in the penetration testing process, to even things as small and minute as individual DLLs mentioned or API calls (specifically regarding debugging) -- examples being CheckRemoteDebuggerPresent(), NtQueryInformationProcess(), etc. It sounds intimidating, but if you just have an Excel sheet open as you read through the books and just take the time to create an index with descriptions, you're golden. Once you're done, sort them alphabetically. I didn't convert my Excel sheet to any specific format, I just straight printed it off as an Excel with tiny font. Just create an index, study the quizzes, and take notes on everything within the practice exams and you're set. I learned the material a few months back, but never got around to taking the exam until recently. At work they gave me a week to refamiliarize myself with the material to test on that Friday, and I still managed to pass with a decent score. So honestly dude, I think you'll be fine.

    Yup a lot of companies prefer GCP because of cost and G Suite due to familiarity with Gmail/Drive/Docs. You really can’t go wrong any of the big 3 cloud providers. A lot of bigger companies have a mix, at mines we use both AWS & Azure for specific reasons. But I know companies that use AWS & GCP.

    7 hours on a $10 course will NOT get you anywhere close to passing the SAA-C02 exam. If you like hearing Chuck's voice like he does, by all means, plop down a tenner but don't expect to pass the exam. The only thing you'll pass is time.

    You are seriously amazing. I appreciate your videos along with the guys you made your course with far more than I could ever attempt to explain in this comment box…. I’m from Mississippi man, like the most tech illiterate state in the US from as far as I can tell…. Having someone able to break down these things like you do is a blessing and it means so much, especially to a person who is trying so hard to learn without any previous knowledge or experience and almost no one around locally to advise or explain how this stuff works. Thank you again and if there is ever a chance that you see this and would ever consider one on one teaching, just know that I would be willing to do just about anything in order to get that kind of help. Have a great day man.

    It is crazy that i've seen this video in my recommendations for close to 4 years, never watched it but now that I work at Amazon and am considering becoming a solutions Architect it was cool to set up the account and the virtual machine by watching a 7.5 minute video. And even though the AWS website has changed I was able to follow and find all the correct links and tabs to to exactly what you did. Looking forward to this journey.

I previously used acloudguru and whizlabs but I feel for the SAA-C02 version those sources aren't as in depth as what im using now. Digital cloud. His new SAA-C02 course is great, and yhe test cover all the topics i didnt recognize on my exam or that I found on my updated acloudguru and whizlabs courses. Ima knock mine out soon and good vibes to everyone out there working on theirs also! We got this guys!!
