@@ArtistryOfAdventure we haven't on the via ferrata. There is a classic climb called escargot corner that we did several years ago but that is full on rock climbing and outside of the norquay tenure

@@theclimbingchef that sounds amazing and I’m sure the views were equally as spectacular. When you get around to Norquay, you’ll enjoy yourself. Happy climbing!

How did you film and take pictures? Did you wear a gopro or were there opportunities to stop and use your phone? I'm about to do this and I'd love to get cool shots!

I have some mountaineering experience and our guide saw that quickly while on the trail. He allowed me to stop and take photos and video, but typically kept an eye on me. Yes, I did bring a GoPro, DSLR and video camera. But I wouldn’t recommend you use these all of these tools if you are new to the sport. There are opportunities when you will be on flat, even ground where your guide will approve for you to take photos. The views are spectacular so you don’t want to miss them if you drop your phone down a cliff. Be cautious and enjoy the journey!

Thank you! This was the Summiteer route. If you’re confident with your skills and don’t have an issue with heights, I would strongly recommend it.

Do you think an active 12-13 year old could do this/would be safe? Or just should be adults

  • @ArtistryOfAdventure

I personally think that an active 12-13 your old can do this, as long as they pay attention to all of the safety requirements, and the parent feels comfortable letting their child participate in this activity. Otherwise check with the outfitter on age minimum. They would be able to participate, but I’m not sure if they would on this exact route.

Huge difference between Europe via-ferrata and this one. Majority in Europe are free, or you pay maximum 25 EU for rental equipment ...here $175 is a scam

I wouldn't call it a scam because someone has to pay for the installation of this course in a National Park. Plus funding for this sport isn't as abundant as it is in Europe, so until there is more demand, then there will be costs for adventures like this. So lets get more people interested locally and install our own courses!
