Get chinese ones, just as good. Wire cutters are good enough to cut through fence wire.

I'm a paramedic and carry these for the past 6 years. I mostly use the shears to cut heavy materials like leather, thick denim, boots, etc. I've used the glass breaker a handful of times. Haven't used much else, never needed to cut a ring, I use the shears to cut seat belts, our oxygen doesn't need the wrench. But overall it's a great tool

If you ever need a wrench tool for basically any size (no kidding), i recommend the Knipex Cobras XS 150mm Comfort Grip. Fits comfortably in any pocket.

Leatherman has impressed me throughout the years with quality and their warranty. It is my preference in my multitool. I own and use many leathermans (EDC I still carry a skeletool) but I tried these a very long time ago. They are solid and great scissors but have difficulty with harder materials. In my experience (30yrs FF medic) a standard quality set of EMT shears are better for the job - never had a problem with them cutting anything. Also carry a good quality rescue hook with your shears. I have found that Nothing will trauma strip a PT quicker. Even if wearing thick motorcycle leathers. Good luck Stay safe

I thought about it but I went with $7 shears instead for now as I had to build three trauma kits at the same time and Quick Clot was on sale.

The sheath also allows them to be carried unfolded with the tip pointed down

I am just a volunteer firefighter but would still carry this no mater the price because life is priceless

I forgot the brand but i have a nice set of trauma shears with all of those features but non folding for about 50 bucks, even came with a sheath for the plate carrier.

You forgot that you can put the shears in the holster closed AND open... that was the best argument for me for this tool!

Tough material cuts card board lol. I don't carry these but the scissors on my surge cut through wire and sheet metal pretty easily. I've wanted to get these but I wouldn't really carry it

Heavy and bulky for a basic edc, but the features are still pretty great. maybe if someone wasn’t getting much use out of pliers and a knife they could just rock this

I actually carry a victorinox rescue tool, but if i had enought money, i would carry this one to.

Something I bought to keep in my truck where I can access quickly, its a piece of mind, hope I never have to use them

Nice video I have a pair in my trauma kit. I do wish the audio was synced better to the video since it was distracting.

EDC is getting to the point we might as well carry a full toolbox. Specialty pliers, specialty scissors, specialty pocket pry bar, on and on.

I use mine on the farm for a lot of random stuff. I would never cary it every day on my person but it's useful enough to keep in the tool bag. It will cut through everything up to and through thin soft metals. Using it for longer than 5 minutes is a nightmare on the hands. The strap cutter will struggle with material other than fabrics. My strap cutter snapped in half when cutting a 1/4" zip tie. They are not the best stainless so keep them clean, dry, and oiled. Overall the scissors punch well above their weight. The Raptor's usefulness is limited to your creativity and your hands capacity to endure pain.

420HC stainless steel IS stainless steel. It just doesn't stain less than other recipes of stainless with more Chromium. 420 is High Carbon and needs more care to avoid rust than stainless found in Victorinox, utensils, or sinks as an example.

I've been carrying them for over three years in a custom kydex sheath. Tried the lanyard and it gets in the way too much.

What do you do when the shears are covered with blood and other fluids. How easy are they to clean. That's one of the reasons I liked the inexpensive shears I could use and throw away. I am a retired Paramedic and had to use my shears fairly often with rare need for other "toys" built into this item.

They can be autoclaved. I bought a pair because I was sick of the cheap standard ones breaking after one or two uses.

I'd get it but I'm sure something for safety is going to be expensive.

Mmm, they're cute but penny cutter shears are cheap and disposable...maybe if i worked as an EMS

They make a Raptor Rescue version with less features and more ergonomic handles. But no lefty options. Sadly like with most things in life. They favor right handed people like me. I am semi-ambidextrous. I prefer to do some tasks left handed. But you would think major companies would sell solutions for left handed customers in 2023.

Eighty to a hundred dollars for a pair of fancy penny cutters? No, thanks. I just replaced a 25 year old pair two years ago for less than forty dollars, and they are very good scissors!

I carry a cheaper version of this tool. The actual Raptor is a little too pricey for my taste.
