@@CypherDND If I made just the mods in this video a collection I'd have to maintain it too. And a lot of the mods featured here have different versions so it wouldn't suit everyone's needs. Managing my current collection "Difficulty, Immersion, Quality" already takes a decent chunk of time.

Definitely gonna save this video for when I start my second playthrough. Taking my sweet time through my first playthrough, and the only mod I have is Party Limit Begone, which allows you to have all your companions in your party at once. Yes, it makes fights super easy because you're basically doubling your firepower, but it also helps you avoid missing dialogue between party members. Really nice to have everyone talking to each other in the span of a few minutes, and having an NPC at their related event without accidentally missing it or looking up all relevant cutscenes beforehand is a huge relief. No more going back to camp to ditch someone and grab whoever's turn it is on the plot advancement wheel.

Definitely swap out the replacer version of Party Limit Begone for the Script Extender version whenever you start that second playthrough. You also might want to check out my Nexus Collection when the time comes.

I can just hope that Larian will implement most of these in the "definitive" edition. As we know, the next patch could be the GOTY patch on Dec 21st with the Japenese edition coming. Since they were able to do a mocap+QA+scripting for the Karlach ending within 2 weeks, I think these features could easily be added to the base game. But if not, I would rather wait for the BIG patch with content instead of releasing little ones.

Yeah for sure. A good chunk of the mods on this list are filling in for features which would be right at home in the base game, some of these missing features are straight up baffling. Like being able to manage loot of all companions in camp.

Hey, just wanted to add that Auto Loot Seller mod pairs really nicely with the autoloot aura! Also, with the latter, the Extradimensional Storage bag it adds confuses a LOT of people as the loot it grabs initially all goes there (to reiterate video comments). Although this functions as a bag of holding, I think the weight limit mod and dumping the bag (preferably in a chasm so the mod doesnt just pick it back up) is a superior solution bc autosort bags and (I think) the auto seller will work better, as I think will the item stacking mod if people use that. Also good to notice the blue highlight given to unlooted containers meaning that (contrary to the video behavior) it slightly defeats the purpose of the mod entirely if you OCD open all the containers anyways. :) Lastly, IDK if you mentioned it in your last video, but the Speed Mod is a REALLY great time saver, even if you have to manually disable it for dialogues.

If Auto Loot Seller took Charisma etc into consideration when selling it would definitely be on the list. But being able to configure % sell value is alright. Stackable items/Slightly Better Trade Menu takes most of the tedium out of selling loot anyway. No need to destroy Extradimensional Storage, I like seeing what has been AOE looted specifically. Dropping it on the ground and looting from it gets everything autosorted/stacked as it should be. And yeah haha, I should have mentioned the blue highlight, I was opening those to demonstrate the mod is functional. Yeah I'll have to play around with that mod for sure, I've got it on my tracked list now. I was only aware of the one for movement speed.

Sadly I've tried to get the auto loot aura mod to work but after trying and tinkering for a while, it just doesn't work for me 😛. I'll just go back to manually looting everything hahaha :-P

@@jowdemanne Weird. Got your script extender up to date? It will show a notification "Auto Loot Mod Installed Correctly" when you load into the game.

An alternative to just increasing / removing the carry weight is getting a backpack mod. There is a few and the version I had added some backpacks that could be equipped in the cloak slot and even some that could be equipped in the instrument slot. These backpacks would increase your carry weight by a % ranging from iirc 20 - 100%. It is a nice middle ground between just removing carry weight vs keeping it. The backpacks that went in the instrument slots or ones that increased carry weight by 100% cost quite a lot from vendors and were rather difficult to pickpocket so it's again a nice middle ground between having infinite space from the start vs gradually working towards getting a bigger backpack. Also as another alternative is getting a Bag of Holding mod. The one I have happens to allow autosort containers to still function from within the bag of holding, so stuff like your alchemy pouch or camp supply bag can be placed inside a Bag of Holding and all alchemy or camp supplies will go to that bag inside the bag of holding! Both of these mods together gives an immersive way to greatly reduce the carry weight problem even for obsessive hoarder such as myself.

If sending stuff to camp or travelling to camp wasn't something you could instantly do from the UI I definitely would have wanted mods like that on the list instead. My immersion is just so badly broken by base game mechanics in that regard, these mods wouldn't scratch that itch lol.

Great list. Didn’t know so many good mods were out already. How do the mods work with multiplayer? Can you play with people who don’t modify or does it depend on the mods? Do you need everyone to use the same mods to play together?

For the most part you need the exact same mod setup for all players. Same mods, version everything. Some mods are just client side, some only the host needs but they are very few. Here's a common copypasta from the mod support channel in the Larian Discord. For MP that cant join each other: Screenshare with each other Check you have same mods Check its the same versions Check its the same mod load order If that does not work, do this: Remove all mods from your mods folder (or purge if its in vortex) Add one mod or mods in batches Deploy if in vortex, save order or export order if its in bg3mm Open game, see if you can join If you cant, you have found your problem mod If you can, keep going by adding the mods and rinse and repeat the steps above

Only reason is that it doesn't take persuasion/charisma into consideration. I know the sell % can be tweaked, but it's a bit immersion breaking. With Stackable Items & Slightly Better Trade Menu selling things the good ole fashioned way doesn't bother me. I'll add it to the description though, a lot of people will probably want it.

Yeah it's just been sitting in my tracked mods I should have mentioned it in the video. I was already using Telport Party Spell when that came out, was waiting for other people to test it out first as it seemed to have a couple bugs at the time. You are so god damn right! Carry Weight is not just redundant in this game it is actually harmful to the fun/immersion of the game! Who wants to travel away from their area that they are looting and sort inventories or sell stuff just to return and find that the world has moved on without them? and YEAH! Consistency IS nice!

this is a great and helpful video; you may however wish to let folks know what to do regarding the script extender + native mod loader and if the CL/CF pops up a warning message. Also, all of the nexus mods links go to error pages.

I love using mods but my game breaks every time there's an update and it's a ballache to figure out which mod broke lol. Just started a new game and decided to remove all of my mods except the wasd one because I can't live without that.

Question on the tooltip mod! Does it effect some item description or ALL item?? @_@ thanks!

I would love to use the loot aura. But it just looks and sounds so complicated.

Carry weight isn't redundant and increasing it to over 9000 will break the game balance completely. For example you can have someone carry 1000 barrels/all the empty treasure chests and then just misty step out of reach and throw them in combat. Being able to send things to your camp anytime doesn't effect gameplay because you can't use them but being able to get anything from your camp (or in this case carry your whole camp in your backpack) at anytime certainly would altar gameplay.

You've still got to meet the strength requirements to lift and throw individual heavy objects though, can't load an unlimited number of barrels into a chest to create a nuke. Though you can still just drop them and trade them between party members without using any actions. Way I see it, your average party of 4 can already carry enough barrels to blow any enemy to the moon. Any NPC/location which does not force a hostile interaction/stop access to camp can already be exploited heavily by barrelmancy using trips to and from camp. Barrels are a finite resource. Barrels aren't as good as they were in DOS:II. Even with the Honour Mode changes combat is trivialised by absurd multiclass combinations leaving no reason to bother with barrels. At the end of the day you're right though, I shouldn't have made it out to be completely redundant. I just have no reason to bother spamming barrels, and carrying capacity sucks when you're a virtual hoarder.

@@BaldursGoonsack I used barrels as an example but could be anything heavy, like corpses or boxes or empty treasure chests. Point was that thrown items do damage based on weight on weight. if you have a limited inventory then you have to choose between carrying lots of lighter objects to do thrown damage or a few heavy objects to do fewer but more powerful thrown attacks. If you have unlimited inventory space then you can carry unlimited heavy objects to throw. Was just the first example I thought of of how removing the inventory limit has an impact on gameplay.

Yeah you are right, it's just not uber powerful thankfully. All the crazy power throwing builds had came from Tavern Brawler mega BS combos, the weight of the object is pretty minimal.

Is there a software that load mods every time you play, instead of replacing original files?

Larian did add some mods into Divinity Original Sin in their Gift Bags, I'm sure we'll see something like that again in the future.

I'd kill to have a mod that removes Halsin and still lets us get rid of the curse.

the only thing I really miss from playing Divinity Original Sin 2 is the "mark as wares" feature, where you can just control and then click any item to add it to wares so you can sell it faster, now you need to right click every item and do it one by one.

I’m still wondering why nobody has created a sprinting mod, even more so when th characters natively have more than one running speed and some even have sprinting animations for when you accidentally leave them behind a little and they need to catch up with you.

Love it, I'm downloading and installing Baldur's Gate 3 now and bookmarking all the mods I want ready to install them. I'm going to have a fun few hours ahead of me because I come from a lineage of 100+ mods in Skyrim, DAI, Cyberpunk, Conan Exiles and 900 mods in Sims 4. I am not afraid of sitting here and installing mods for a few days and this videos helps me find some mods that I otherwise wouldn't have thought about Much love

If you use a Nexus Collection to build a modlist on one PC you can just download it to the other PC. Keeping conflict rules, load order, mod types etc. all the same. I also play across 2 systems and it would be a nightmare without this lol.

Yes, and somewhat yes. You want both Script Extender and Mod Fixer. Mod Fixer can be A cause of save game data not getting updated properly when the game updates, Script Extender patches this. Script Extender does not recompile the story by itself, Mod Fixer is still required for a functional game.

I'm 95% sure that's a vanilla armour set, probably from an Act II vendor or late Act II drop. I did dye it though, if it's not vanilla than I transmogged it with something from Basket Full of Equipment.

Thank you for this video! I'm new with modding and I do plan on adding them in my second playthrough (just started my first playthrough and I'm really excited about it), and this video really helped! Is there any tutorial on how to do it or the best way to do it? I've never done this before and I do really want to place most of these the next time i play!

You would probably get some mixed responses on the best way to mod the game. I know there's some decent tutorials out there, I'll be doing one myself at some point. People will tell you not to use Vortex, but it is very beginner friendly. I don't recommend doing manual installations as a beginner, basically every mod can be installed through Vortex. You can also check out my nexus collection page, you'll find the link in the description of my collection trailer. I try to have as much information on there as possible. The first mod only works with DX11 not if you use Vulkan.

I've got the Teleport Party to You Spell mod installed but I've never been able to use it, it just doesn't show up. Any suggestions?

Do you have Script Extender up to date and functional? If so it might just be hiding in your Spellbook under common actions, and not automatically added to the bar.

My Discord linked in the description has a bunch of tutorials and what not I've been gathering up. The official Larian Discord has a support channel, and plenty of information in there too. kzread.info/dash/bejne/e6Jr1MmwmLmYhZc.htmlsi=xHru5xv6Hq503Wly This video is a great start for understanding the basics of the recommended mod manager and the different types of mods. In my Discord under Goonsack-links you'll also find my mod collection with in depth written instructions for using both the Vortex and BG3MM mod managers. Even without actually using my collection I'd say the guide in there has a lot of valuable information. Once you get used to the mod managers it's just all about reading the instructions for individual mods, paying attention to their dependencies and doing plenty of reading. The hardest part will be figuring out if there are compatibility issues between mods, that's where it gets a bit more tricky. There's no real risk of bricking your computer, but you can certainly mess up your save games. Modding can be a very time consuming hobby, I've spent more time modding BG3 than just playing it. But that all depends on how crazy you want to get lol.

Achievement enabler won't work for me, I have it installed in vox but nothing happens

Do you have Native Mod Loader? It's required. Also if you have Script Extender you shouldn't use Achievement Enabler. It causes a conflict and Script Extender can handle that job.

Quick question, how easy is it to turn on and off the mods once I have them, I play a co-op save that’s vanilla but would like to play my solo save with mods

The most effective way of doing that is through creating profiles on Vortex, I believe. Make one that's empty and install mods in the other, swapping between should not cause problems.

Also some mods are just on the client side and won't cause issues in multiplayer without everyone having them. So see what you can get away with using, a decent amount of mods also don't get baked into save games and can be added/removed at will without issue.

Now if only there was a mod to change your race for those of us who would like to do so but have too much time invested to start over

There is a mod for that, "Appearance Edit Enhanced", I don't really recommend using it though. People have a lot of issues with it, conflicts with other mods etc. No shade at the folks making it either, it just seems that it's a challenge to implement.

@@BaldursGoonsack Just wanted to say that I got Appearance Edit Enhanced and it worked flawlessly (mostly). There are very specific instructions on the description tab at Nexus for it and deviating from any one of those steps causes issues. So as long as people follow those steps it appears to work. I said "mostly" because the only thing I've noticed is that I switched from Human to High Elf and so far I haven't seen the racial cantrip for High Elves show up. I'll have to do some more testing to see if that is a bug or if it is just waiting on a trigger like a level up or maybe a respec.

@@SoonersSox Glad it's working, the main concern is just baking that into your save. Be sure to turn of auto-updating for the game, it's probable that it'll have issues after patches.

Basket full of equipment "Unreleased leather armour", can't recall which bag off the top of my head. Dyed black/gold with dye I think is included in basket full of equipment, might be wrong on that.

Hello, is anyone available to help? I uninstalled some mods, but the loose files that were added to the 'data' folder persist. Is there a way to 'rollback' the folder? Maybe download a vanilla folder? Please help :)

First thing that comes to mind is just deleting the data folder and hitting "Validate integrity of game files" on Steam. I don't see that causing issues, but I haven't done it myself.

My comments replying here keep disappearing... The mod page can still be found on Wayback Machine, but I don't think an uninstaller was ever released. What do I do when patch 5 drops, as I understand it, not all mods need new versions with new patches? I have this mod loaded in my recent playthrough.

But as for Bag of Camper's Inventories we just pray, the version on Wayback Machine was too far back sadly. www.nexusmods.com/baldursgate3/articles/168 If Camper's Inventories breaks on patch 5 I'm going to be trying some shit like this on it. I imagine it will be fine though, more likely that its functionality just breaks at some point.

@@BaldursGoonsack So far I've only used mods I can use with Voryex only. I need to learn how to install BG3 Mod Manager and the Script Extender (among others). I saw some great mods that I can't use yet because I'm new to installing mods and not entirely sure how it's done.

@@pandoraeeris7860 I personally install everything through Vortex, and manage the load order with BG3 Mod Manager. If something can't be installed through Vortex it's just because the mod author hasn't packaged it to work with Vortex. The trick is just having the mods installed as the correct "mod type" which can be changed by double clicking on a mod. "Replacer" and "Engine Injector" are the most common if it's not just left as it was. BG3MM is an easy install, just extract it to your desktop or something and have a look at it, the UI and folder structure are really user friendly. Script extender is also an easy install, you can get it through BG3MM/Nexus/Github. I just get the reupload off of Nexus and install it through Vortex. You can check out my mod collection page for information, it's half modlist half resource basically lol.

How so? It is both functional and safe to remove for me. If you aren't aware since Patch #5 you must use -continueGame as a launch parameter through Steam/GoG/BG3MM to load the most recent save when it's missing mods.

Do the mods work in multiplayer?

In most cases yes, you just have to make sure you have the exact same setup as the people you're playing multiplayer with. Same load order, mod versions, everything. Few mods are client side and can be used without others having them, but it's not very common.

04:40 you can simply change your character mid-conversation, no need another mod for this

"a lot" is kind of a subjective quantity. The vast majority of my modding experience is limited to Elder scroll games and Bethesda have always given a lot of support to their modding community. So maybe that is why I haven't seen much of this. But it still doesn't change my opinion. Mods to make the mods work? I'll pass :-) @@Tethius1

I'm sure you could get pretty close to it with a combination of mods. "Horns of Faerun" & "Saer's Horns - New Horn Options For Everyone" have some really dope horns, so that's a start.

I honestly don't understand why everyone recommends that WASD mod, it's fun but also very bad, the camera and the map just weren't made for it, even with the mod that changes how the camera works, it's messy.
