Hello Tom. Really enjoy watching your video's. Have learnt so much from them. I had a float tube and was using it on Woods Lake in Tasmania. Just loved how when you caught a big fish, as it would tow you around until you landed it. Was so much fun. But be aware of potential wind changes. Can blow you to where you don't want to go. Kayaks are good but you just gotta keep it organised so the line doesn’t get caught up on things

I don't know... Maybe I will use it on an small lagoon full of vegetation on shore but not in open lakes. You cast from a very low position.

Didn't fisheries put some salmon in there a few years back? Were/ are any ever caught?

Yeah they did. Some were caught when they were around 30cm but they haven’t been seen for years

Float tubes are easily the WORST way to fly fish. Your sitting very low in the water which makes casting very difficult. You have to wear flippers and paddle backwards to get anywhere, then the wind blows you around. If you have a boat, use that instead or fish from shore.

While not having a float tube , i do have a small inflatable pontoon boat. They still have low seating position and are truly a fantastic way to fish, but I guess it's what you're comfortable with. They are perfect for hiking/using in remote areas and if you can't get close with a vehicle to launch a boat. Float tubes/pontoon boats open up normally inaccessible areas whether it be on rivers or lakes. Yes , the casting is a touch different than out of a boat or on shore but if you can cast efficiently you shouldn't have any issues.
