The fast food industry has penetrated in mainstream Russia indeed. Even in some villages

I used to travel on trains all the time back in 90s, but not much since then. Man, this is night and day and also, I'm certain that this sort of amenities would not survive a single day with how some people were back then even if they existed. Everything would be stolen or smashed to pieces, 100%.

Love reading your comment Andrey😂👍. The 90’s were very rough times for real. Also thanks for the Odysee heads-up .Btw I got a football channel “the United way”! Are you a soccer fan?

We've take the double decker Moscow to Kazan several times, nice train, lower ceilings to make room for 2 levels, we always took the lower level mid car! The trip is about 16 hours overnight but its better then the scary 90 minute flight in a old Russian jet!

Agreed Bob, but I must say the train is massive and one can feel the weight during the journey at times

Can you tell us how to know which of the trains are modern when booking tickets via rail Russia ?

Hi Ralf, In the UK we only have single decker trains and the old train platforms we have would stop the use of double decker trains. But I have used the trains in Canada and these offer seating on 3 levels... Your long distance Canadian trains are like your modern Russian trains but some offer glass roof viewing train carriages to view the Rocky Mountains, which from pictures have amazing landscapes.

Great comments Dino, am a train fan and definitely the landscape view is one of the selling point on such journeys. Make sure you share with friends and forums as I would like to read different opinions and adventures .

Thank you Ralf! didn't know about double Decker trains in Russia. why prices for snacks in water in foreign currency not rubles? Too expensive.

Considering most of the audience are international,I thought it will be helpful using dollar 💵 rather than local currency(roubles). There are some good things going on like the fast train from Moscow to Belarus!
