This is so wrong on so many levels. 1. It's 1943 not 1942. 2. The "D" means the Denver Mint and that's not what makes the coin special. 3. What makes the 1943 cent special is they were minted out of steel to save copper for bullets in WWII. Roughly 50 where accidentally made out of copper. 4. The ones minted in 1943 accidentally made from copper are worth hundreds of thousands not millions. Just fact checking at its finest 🤦♂️

Another mistake he said was "the coin was made of bronze instead of copper", it was meant to be steel that year (1943), not copper nor bronze. It should be bronze before and after 1943 but not 1943 except for the coins mistakenly made with the bronze planchettes, in 1943.

This is so filled with misinformation. The “rare” coins around this time are the copper 1943. And the steel 1944. If you didn’t even know about steel pennie’s then you need to research more before you claim a coin you found is a rare one

No dude you got it switched around 1943 was Silver a 1944 was just normal
@spoutinghorn3

@@commandereye-can2919 He got it right. The reason why the copper one is rare in 1943 is because they were minted with steel during that time. 1943 pennies are supposed to be made with steel not copper. Some were made on accident, which is what makes them rare. The same thing happens in 1944 but in reverse.

Its actually the 1943 copper penny. In 1943 the us stopped making copper pennies and started making steel pennies. This way more copper could be used in the war. So in 1943 only a few copper pennies were made.
And this video made me into a coin collector. Thank you so much! This video changed my life! Now I know all the basic steps and all the rare coins. Luv u for this!

And the reason why that penny sold for good money is because in 1943 they made pennies out of steel. And there were errors where some bronze and copper planchets went through the press. But he said in 1942 a man accidentally made bronze pennies BUT saying that he made bronze pennies instead of copper pennies is like saying you accidentally ate a carrot instead of a baby carrot.

Me Who remebers i spent a d coin I always look at the coin for every detail for no reason XD
Hey everyone, it's awesome if you have a coin from that long ago! I just want to clear some things up though. First: The year of the coin is 1943 not 1942 Second: The D under the date isn't what's rare about it. That's just the mint mark showing you where the coin was minted. D= Denver P or blank= Philadelphia S= Sanfranciso Third of all: The coin is rare because in 1943 they were supposed to making steel pennies instead of copper. That's because they were needing to save copper for the war. I hope this helps you guys 😀
