I know, they look like Easter eggs and peeps thrown up all over them. I think the bright colors were supposed to be symbolic as to romanticizing colors on paintings that represent fertility, desire, scandal, and innocence.

The crazy neon colors with their red hairs really wash them out tbh. Their outfits in s3 slayed though.

I mean... it was a different time. If I had no brother, and distant cousin might inherit my father's estate... do not suspect people falling for their relatives. They did not have understanding of inbreeding effects, so it all boiled to 1) is the heir good-natured, 2) will I live near people I like, 3) do I have better options? Women did not marry just for their sake. Sometimes it was for sake of your sisters. If your father died suddenly, your cousin inherited, you could secure your sisters' future for years. Perhaps allow other to marry for love 🤷‍♀️

Also in the show they are 4th cousins But yeah in real life in those days it wouldn’t matter even if they were first cousins It’s still like that in a lot of places
