I love how DuGalle is almost laughing when telling Mengsk he'll be publicly executed. SC1 had such great acting in the English version.

Indeed. According to SC wiki, the actor for DuGalle was also the voice of Zeratul, Edmund Duke, and the Overmind, all of which are memorable thanks to his great acting. :)

@@joshuagabrielcatindig7607 It's actually not unlikely that Warfield would be here. He WAS a high ranking general in Mengsk's new formed Terran Dominion but the only absolute location we have for him is he wasn't never around Mengsk when he teamed up with Kerrigan.

The planes were an arbiters illusions if you look closely at the footage it was indeed the Gantrithor flying into the twin towers. What is the UED keeping from us????

We had the fugitives in our grasp!

For all his Flaws, i love how DuGalle put Mengsk in his Place ("Citizen") like Mengsk did with Edmund Duke in the first terrain campaign, when you save him from the Zerg.

Of course Mengsk immediately demands to speak with your manager. Should've Yamato'ed his ass instead of talking.

In the previous mission, Horner's model was used for the UED captain, when here he's on the Hyperion as he's supposed to be. DuGalle: "Captain, what the hell?"

Poor Korhal citizens, they live on the most invaded planet in Koprulu sector

Not really. Parlay is a military term also.

Mengsk is supposed to be very intelligent on account of being a scheming chessmaster and all... but really what was he expecting telling the people in full control of the situation he was gonna do everything he can to undermine them? It's like telling your kidnapper, "I have a switchblade in my prison pocket and the second I get my hand back there I'm pulling it out" then being surprised they cut your hand off lol

Might have been intended as a nod to that story about Julius Caesar, when he told the pirates who captured him he would kill them after he was ransomed and they thought he was bluffing or joking... The situation made it feel a bit weird, though, seeing as he's been completely defeated by a massive organized military force rather than just captured by thugs. xD

Did Mensk really ask to speak to our manager?

I like how polite their conversation here. Unlike many 21st century leaders.

You'd think that Du Galle should take command himself if this is such an important battle.

Executor Nral is one of my favorite nerds.

I love how the the Adjutant announces the ship approaching is the rebel flagship, only for DuGalle to immediately ask who they are.

Is it just me or the adjutant shows some level of "emotion" in 2:23 and 6:30?

The adjutant seems to be a lot more intelligent than just "beep boop. rebel command ship Hyperion has been detected. bleep bloop. over." which we got in SC2. Makes you wonder, did some sort of... _accident_ with intelligent AI happen in-between Brood War and SC2?

@@pantuternik They are! AI research is restricted in the Koprulu sector, to avoid rogue AGIs a la simulant. Adjudants are mostly based off AI tech from ATLAS, the original supercomputer that led the colonists to the Koprulu sector... So the UED has a considerable technological advance in this domain.

Warfield model shouldn't be there. . Anyway I have an idea for you, Nral: You should make a custom scenario of the final part where Hyperion and Norad III combine their Yamato Gun and destroy Alexsander 😆

The Aleksander is destroyed, Mengsk tries to give a speech about the seeds of the future, but Raynor as THE MAN shuts him up and Yamatoes Mengsk's ass.

I still hate to this day than the UED lost in Brood War. Such an awesome faction, gone. Tragic.

It's just the UED expedition force. An actual UED invasion force would be nearly unthinkably advanced and gigantic.

I love how the Norad III is dwarfed by the Aleksander, and then the Hyperion shows up and dwarfs the Aleksander. Mengsk has the smallest ship, DuGalle has an average sized ship, but Raynor? Raynor's the man with the biggest ship.

The delivery is important here. It implies somthing in the vicinity of 4-5 different questions that go along the lines of "Who are you to interupt ME?".

They do, their adjutant clearly announced it. I think Dugalle was more surprised at the fact the Protoss were there and they came to save Mengsk who was Raynor's nemesis.

It would be funny if Jim had just Yamato'd Aleksander :D

Anyone know the song in the ending cutscene?

Mengsk> "He is an accomplished tactician!" Also Mengsk> sends half a dozen cattlebruisers against that many ghosts with goliath support.

Honestly, this whole ending cutscene makes so little sense in so many ways, like why is Matt here on the Hyperion after being the UED Captain in the last mission, why is Hyperion 2x as large as the Alexander and Norad, why did the Scouts destroy only 2 Wraiths and leave one, and nice "low orbit" with Korhal being out in the distance (honestly i think it would make more sense if it used the same background as the second Korhal mission in HotS). Oh, and Warfield was probably absent during the battle of Korhal so he has no right to be there.

The Hyperion was the largest battlecruiser at the time. It was Mengsk's original flagship. Warfield could have been there, we don't know what he did. As for the rest, you're right.

The developer probably just reused matt's model. It would make sense that Matt would be here given he was the Captain of the Hyperion during this time.

I have to be honest, I was expecting the Korhal Palace to appear, as it did in Canon. But of course, familiarity would be more important, and hence, it was just that Command Center. Before anyone might come here and say either that the Palace wasn't finished, or Mengsk was using a command center for the defense of Augustgrad, the Wiki has this to say: "In StarCraft: Brood War, Mengsk's palace is an ordinary command center that is the main target of both versions of the mission "Emperor's Fall." Edit: Also, just realized it now, but the Palace is too big to be placed, and is probably not a targetable structure (Only the gate is), so that could also be why

I'm gonna be honest, i like more the final cutscene of this mission more in the original, it lacks of intensity.

If only DuGalle learned lesson of shooting enemies you go kill anyway first, without talking...

I would have figured if they were going to bring back starcraft 1 they would have improved the cut scene graphics to todays standards.

I more like to play this one with the ghost i can use vulture with spider mines and then there will no be nukes so you got full base and army at the begining

Feels aweful to see that stain of Starcraft 2 on Broodwar. Everything has gone downwards since the original -98 - the best real time strategy game to this day if one asks me. Not the least owed to the story and character building as in the original.
