This is my most favourite scene in the drama. I love seeing the pained expression of the emperor. For once, he experienced the pain he inflicted on Fu heng and Yingluo when he forcibly separated them. He deserves not to get the love of Yingluo. For me, Yingluo never gave her heart to the emperor, it has always been with Fuheng and you clearly see that at the last episode when she was about to die and when she found out that Fuheng died. She mended her relationship with the emperor for survival, not for love. She chose to get pregnant for survival and power, not love. Until the end, the emperor disgusted me. He let the women in the harem compete to the point of killing each other. If only Yingluo could be with Fuheng, she would have been happier. She wouldn't have to always worry that someone might backstab her. She was his everything. Even until the day he died, it has always been her.

Throughout history, there have always been individuals that are exceptions to the rule. They are called people that changed or shaped history. Yingluo knew how far to push the Emperor and always remained respectful while calling him on his bullshit. In this instance, he was faced with the reality of his prior unknown part in the Empress committing suicide. That rocked him for a minute and also the full revelation of why she entered the palace. Knowing how Yingluo felt about the late Empress and how he felt about Yingluo, gave her a bit more leniency than most others may have been granted. For the first time, the Emperor experienced true heartbreak.
