I am confused so we went to move back enjoy the beautiful ghanaian culture but also want the same condition and access we had in the west? Ghana is changing so fast that eventually ghana will lose its authentic culture. Old family houses are been torn down for new apartment complexes and duplexes, chop bars changing to fast foods, now watching Netflix and ignoring local contents. What we are all running from in the west be it the freedom, the racism and demarginalization or whatever you reason is, now will face these issues now. Cost of living has gone drastically, rent and utilities is high. Listings and prices are based on the diaspora. There is a great deal of gentrification going on. That's what happened in South Africa eventually leading to xenophobia.

Thanks for reading my comments Dentaa(MBE), you are doing an amazing job 👏 . The point I was making at 21:33 is that, the waiters take home far less in Ghana than in Europe, the calibre of people who will accept those low wages have no desire to work and the skill set. The high prices people pay likely goes into import costs, currency exchange, no economies of scale etc. Glad you guys are on the ground making a big difference 👏 👍 🙌 👌 😀. We shall get there.

It’s dreadful that the UK salaries are slow across the board. I agree with the comment about affordable housing and catering to people with disabilities. #1 reason why Ghana isn’t truly ready to receive people from the Diaspora. There are so many vital things that need to be done before investing our savings and hard earned money to uplift this country. I would never give up my U.S passport because we built this country and a Ghanaian passport has zero benefits. Folks coming from the U.S. aren’t receiving land, money, or a path to local citizenship. What’s the point of living with so many disadvantages in Ghana and paying 5x the amount?

  • @kwamescratch6727

So Ghana should grant all these benefits because you’re coming from outside?, it makes you better than those who have been living here all their life’s right?. Nobody has forced anyone to come, all the country is doing is appealing to people that has got the abilities to help the country develop in the right way to come and help and not to feel their entitled to things that even those living here for ages don’t have. You can stay wherever you’re and enjoy all your benefits which is fine by us but those who want to be bold and sacrifice certain benefits they have in order to help the country grow and develop should come, it will never be easy, it will be demanding and frustrating but it will pay off eventually. The Americans and the uk blah blah went through terrible and horrible moments to reach here and they did that years and years ago and even today with all their wealth especially with America can’t even eliminate homelessness, crime violence and etc. Imagine Ghana had a quarter of those riches. Black diasporas feel so entitled to certain things that the Chinese or the whites who come here not think that way, they look for the loopholes and plug into them and in few years you see them controlling our economy meanwhile they also face the same things black diasporas always complain about. Are they different human beings? Enjoy your benefits yh🤗

From what I see you have a deep interest in Ghana but you want it easy. I am Ghanaian by blood also in the diaspora. I also have EU passport that also allows me to go the ends of the earth and back. But recently I found out that it’s more beneficial to use my Ghanaian passport to some parts of the world. I am so happy that I have a Ghanaian passport through my parents because I wasn’t born there. Sometimes it is better to educate yourself to have an open mind instead of a closed one. Have you seen the sleeping and walking dead people in the US strung out on drugs? America is the most dangerous country right now and there is no comparison. In a supermarket, the church, hospitals, streets, stores, clubs anywhere in the US you’re likely be shot dead. Ghana has its challenges but not to the degree of the menace being experienced in the US. Do not think that we don’t know because we do know - US is dangerous period.
