They met in the 2003 cup quarterfinal as well. 3 times they had played each other in the Swedish cup in the 2000's this was the fourth time. 2002, 2003, 2018 and 2024.

Great coverage as always! You are becoming a legend in the swedish scene. One of the greatest victories in my life. The horror shock when they equalized but us showing the spirit of this Djurgården team and rising back to the ocassion and getting the win... If there is a will there is a way! This Djurgården team is special. This is the beginning of a new era. Aik and Hammarby will not be able to compete with us in the foreseeable future. So much feelings: Early goal by the Golden Boy, dominance, 1-1 at stoppage time... Penalties in front of their stand, and they also begin the shootout. Still we won, as we always do in the most defining derbies. In knockout games we always win against aik. In the defining moments, aik are the nervous ones, the losers. Titles in the 2000's: 8 against 3. Now we have the chance to win the 9th title. Now we can futher extend the economic gap between us and aik. Djurgårdens IF Stockholms Stolthet 💛❤💙

Är du helt efterbliven eller? Man vinner hellre i en guldstrid i Allsvenskan än i cupen. AIK kommer alltid vara storebror och det enda Djurgården har bättre än AIK är ekonomi och nuvarande form. I allt annat är ni ingenting.
