Peter Kaye can make an entire audience piss themselves for the whole show, without swearing, smut, slating others. He just uses the comedy of the working class people, which if you’re a child of the 70/80’s you can totally relate to. He’s a genius

I cried laughing when I saw this - and it brought back a memory that started me off again. My Anti Annie (that's the way we used to pronounce it) had exactly the same red chord in her kitchen and bathroom in the warden controlled flat she was moved into in 1985 when she was in her late 80s. She was mostly blind and quite deaf by that stage but still one hell of a trooper. She used to pull the chord when she was making chips (in lard on a gas cooker) because she knew that when the warden banged on the door, they were ready.

As a District Nurse, with a daily round that included a lot of warden controlled flats, I would set off those wretched alarms at least once a day! Usually the one just inside the bathroom, where you think the light cord would be. "Oops sorry Carol, that were me again, I never learn!" "What you like, are you ever going to get this right?" (laughing) I could literally hear this conversation playing in my head when I heard Peter's comments here. Thank you for the ridiculous memories of happier, sillier times!

Lmao 😂! I’d only knocked it again and hadn’t heard the Carelink box go off or the phone or my mobile or the neighbour coming in! Obviously comedy is subjective but I think about why I find his comedy so compelling. The first thing that strikes me about him is he's got this really warm accent and way of speaking which makes everything he's saying sound positive in a weird way. I feel the same about some American accents in that I always thought they sounded "warm" too, so he has this welcoming sit-com vibe to him. What makes him funny though is the way he finds the humour in every day observations, the manages to make the world make fun of itself in a way, just by pointing something out in a particular context. He's not toured for a while and I feel like he doesn't want too anymore, maybe there's a limitation to the amount of every day things you can write about, which is the majority of his content. I wish he'd tour again because he's pretty unique.

I recall like yesterday playing football in the park on a Sunday morning then to the pub for a few beers. The pubs back then in the 70s and 80s,had free food on the bar(Roast potatoes, chicken wings, pork ribs and all sorts of seafood). That does not feel like it was 40 years ago but as others have said, time will go faster than you will believe!. Take it from us oldies, time really does fly.

I remember my parents got this on dvd when I was younger. They way my da laughed at it was a side to the old man I had never seen. He was literally crying with laughter. I was probably about 12 but even I could appreciate the comedy genius I was witnessing. Class
