Looked at a lot of timetables It's possible to go from the Connecticut-Rhode Island border to Arlington, Virginia on "local" buses and it takes about two full days to do it. The only obnoxious gap being Joppatowne to White Marsh. The only questionable "express" bus is the njt bus from Port Authority to Lakewood.
@MosheArcade
2 жыл бұрын
Well say this…. I don’t know this route at all but say once you get to the port authority (I assume you gonna be there) you take a bus to Newark and take the NJT 67 to Lakewood.
@davidrivera9743
Жыл бұрын
@@MosheArcade the 67 would also be called a questionable local bus for the same reason the 139 is. And sometimes time of day is the reaso that the 139 is taken ( re. A 24 hr a day route). Otherwise New York to Old Bridge is 108 to the 59 to the 48 to the 810 and 818 to get to Old Bridge at a point where the 139 is local.
First time I’ve seen a transit channel run straight through my backyard.

Awesome. An elderly person taught me, add up all cost of vehicles, maintenance, fuel, insurance, debt over your lifetime. Today, that will be well over 500k. That means you can retire at 45 to 50, by not owning one. Now, take away mortgage and rents, others costs and you own your own time. Plus, its environmentally friendly.

Banger video after banger video
Stew Leonard's is quite the supermarket! Never been to the Norwalk location, but when I lived in Westchester, I grew up going to the one in Yonkers (which is served by Bee-Line and is on top of a hill so it has some great views) and Stew Leonard's is the Disneyland of supermarkets like Jungle Jim's in Ohio! The supermarket is designed as an experience where you walk through the entire store unlike the typical supermarket (so basically like IKEA), and besides the petting zoo, they have a coffee bar (with freshly roasted beans), fresh mozzarella, buffet, a bunch of tasting booths, costumed characters, a soft-serve ice cream stand, and A LOT of animatronics (yes...ANIMATRONICS) like a singing tree telling you to drink Poland Spring water! The diner you saw at 8:27 is specifically the Athenian Diner III and it's a 1997 diner made by the DeRaffele Manufacturing Co. of New Rochelle, according to Dinerville! The reason that bridge at 6:50 has all those flags is because for decades, Westport has honored jUNe Day (created by Ruth Steinkraus Cohen in 1965 in observance of the signing of the UN charter on June 26th, 1945) and United Nations Day on October 24th every year by flying flags of the member nations on the Ruth Steinkraus Cohen Bridge as the late Juilliard-trained pianist Ruth Steinkraus Cohen lived in Westport and was a staunch advocate for the United Nations and the national and state levels. WWII left a deep impression on Ruth, and she did not hesitate when in 1956 her friend Eleanor Roosevelt asked her to serve as her personal secretary on a World Federation of UN Associations mission to Warsaw, Berlin and Budapest, and she never looked back! While accompanying Roosevelt in Poland, the husband of one of their female interpreters was arrested for purchasing a copy of "One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich by Alexander Solzhenitsyn. This incident gave Ruth an idea of using Westport as a base affording diplomats and politicians an opportunity to meet ordinary people and help them to stay in touch with every day life!
Wait I've been on that specific bus. It STILL has the dots
3 days late but bless Saint Ned for making these vids possible for the low low cost of just your time. ALso, should've asked this 2 weeks ago, but favorite Snyder's pretzels? I'm partial to the Sourdough Nibblers myself
@MilesinTransit
2 жыл бұрын
I was recently introduced to the sourdough nibblers by Classy Whale and they are FANTASTIC! My one problem with them is that the mini bags are smaller than other types so I always feel like I'm getting fewer pretzels for the same price (which might just be a psychological thing). For when I'm at home, I like rods and (controversially) Old Tyme, but when I'm on the go, I like to get the basic minis! Snaps are great too, but I don't think they make mini bags of those.
This was very entertaining! I live in NYC and work in Norwalk and go to a lot of those places. It was fun seeing you discover CT. Great idea.

"I live in NYC and work in Norwalk" - That's not a commute, that's a punishment!!!!!
I can certify that this video contains much verbal hysteria. Good work fellas!
1:06, the Boston Road Bus Corridor was not exclusively served by the Bee-Line Buses (60/61/62), the Bx30 served it between East Gun Hill Road and Conner Street, and the Bx16 serves it between Dyre Avenue and the NYC-Westchester boarder, I suppose you can say Bee-Line exclusively served Boston Road south of East Gun Hill Road, besides that this was a very nice video!

08:25 The Athenian Diner (colloquially known as the Silver Diner) is a solid diner. Fair prices and, well, diner food - it’s not going to change your life but we all need some good old fashioned diner food available 24 hours a day.
You've hit levels of foamer I have never seen before, and I've pressed my phone to the cab door of a packed TTC train to get the shot in a bike share t-shirt. While I appreciate Miles' MTA t-shirt, I think y'all need shirts that say, "Warining: Foaming in Progress." I thought about getting little business cards that say, "Please be advised, I am about to be cringe. Stand clear. Thank you." and handing them out like in Joker. You might take these suggestions in jest, but as we transition to a more based society, we need to make provisions for the foamers that have had to exist in a car centric society for so long. We need to at least alert normies that we are about to be wilding out because the 60' Articulated Novabus happens to have an obscured view out the window.
