This would be cool with some lead playing here and there between the chords, probably do a video on that next

I believe that statement is true. Of course the sound will be different, but so what? You can arrange guitar songs for i.e. piano and vice versa, it doesn't automatically make the alternative version inferior, while every instrument of course have its own unique character so it won't sound the same. But good music speaks for itself, and the music is rarely bound to a certain instrument unless authenticity is very high on your list of priorities. Coming from a pop/rock/jazz background, I've always wondered why all guitar channels on KZread related to that music virtually never even mention nylon string guitars. I remember a video showcasing the five essential guitars types you "need" to have, and it didn't even mention the classical guitar. To me, that was quite a blasphemy. Anyway, I have never studied classical guitar, and only recently I found your channel and a few other ones, showcasing the fantastic techniques that has been developed for these guitars. I wish I'd seen them earlier. I'm especially interested in learning some of these right hand techniques used in Spanish/latin music. IMO, you show these extraordinarily well (and I'm very jealous at your impeccable right hand technique). 😄 That won't come easy though. As a lefty playing right handed, it has always been very challenging to develop a reasonably good right hand - especially finger - technique, both on guitar and bass (my main instrument the last 20 years). The worse dexterity have a negative effect on my timing and speed. But shame on the one who gives up. I will probably never develop the excellent RH technique you possess, but let's see how far I can go.

@@TheVersatileGuitarist Thanks for the question! I have considered it, but honestly even turning the guitar around feels awkward enough to scare me away from it. It’s like going back 35 years when I had just got my first guitar at age 10. Playing this way I do has always felt natural, and I also teach guitar (a professional bass player recommended me) so it’s not all bad. Also, if Mark Knopfler, IA Eklundh and Gary Moore etc can do it like this, perhaps I can, too. 😉

I want to play this, Im so terrible at strumming, have been playing classical for about a year and a half, with some bits of flamenco here and there. I don't know how to strum with my thumb like you. It isn't my left hand, when I play rasquedos or index finger up/down it sounds fine, but when I use my thumb I get tons of buzzing and just lots of "noise", the notes dont ring properly, unlike yours. Tips? Btw, I am in san diego, I tried to book you once for lessons but you were booked, soz.
