I have a 2021 MX-5 RF Grand Touring today on a 24 hr test drive. I'm concerned about water getting into the driver cabin. Also it seems the window goes down a hair evertime the door is opened. Have you had any issues?

Mine was delivered at the port today, I can't wait till it's moved to the showroom. It took 8 months to arrive..

The MX5 is one of the few cars to tells others you’re not out driving to pose and show off. You’re just out driving coz you love it.

Owned both. Both great. The MX5 the more fun road car. The BRZ is the tidier more capable car and better out of the box on track. The BRZ could be your only car though. It’s semi practical. The MX5 is a toy.

for sure, miatas are definitely less practical but I still think they're doable for a single person if you're brave haha. I chose a last gen 86 over an ND and I don't regret

Make it an Mx5 RF and I'll take that any day of the week just on looks alone. Car is absolutely beautiful

I’ve had my MX5 for 2 years and already over 30K miles because it’s just that much fun

MAZDA Miata for cruising with the soft top down by the beaches, in the country roads, on the mountains, and forests. Nice for tight spaces too.

My dad had (and still has) a first generation Mazda mx5, and some of my favourite childhood memories were going for drives along the river with the roof down playing music through the radio. I like the brz but I love the mazda

I chose MX-5. I will admit I was influenced by lack of availability and dealer markups on BRZ/GR86s. But when my Miata's top is down on a sunny day I don't regret my choice in the least.

I voted for the MX-5 when I got a 2021 soft top. BRZ/86 was my second choice though

X2, but I like the RF. Don’t know… really liked the porche targa lol - currently precisely working my darn ass off to get one 😂 counting the moths

I now have my MX5 Roadster and nothing quite beats the open top motoring. And after having a string of Subarus, I’m not sure I want another one.

Drove an MX 5 RF - amazing car for so many reasons. Actually FUN to drive. Makes you want to go for a drive even if you don’t want to. Picking up a 2024 RF club soon. Metallic Blue!!

I got my first mx5 this past weekend and i couldn't be happier it was a sinner year gift from my parents (i am 17 in 1 month) and it is my first standard and first time driving a standard and i have loved every minute of it

The Miata is better in terms of driving but the 86 is better to live with. I’d get the 86 just you can daily it a little easier. Miata seems like it would be a spare weekend car while the 86 is good for everyday.

Considering the MX5 isn’t a literal meme, I think ima go with the MX5.

You mentioned interior quality, but you didn't mention that the Miata has one of the best shifters in the world and the engine is raw, revs better, and you don't have to worry about blowing it up

I like the brz more but can’t trust subaru reliability! New gr86/brz’s keep blowing up recently

I want MX-5 as well as BMW X5

Except for the dedicated track guys, if youre gonna get a fun summer car like this you may as well make it a convertible just to max out the fun factor so miata for me

Mazda MX5

I looked at a 86 awhile back. But ended up choosing the miata due to similar performance and better fuel mileage. :) The ND2 miata honestly responds to mods pretty well too and there is a rather big market for it. ^_^ fun little car for the price. The 86 is good too just mainly the fuel mileage difference got me. Which I know isn't the point. But I'm getting upwards of 40-43mpg in the miata if I stay out of it. Makes a difference on the premium fuel though did lose a bit post tuning.

Debated this for a while. Bought the BRZ as I was a Subaru guy at the time. Sold it 6 months later. Bought an MX-5 soft top. Now I want to buy the RF for winter driving. Even as a Subaru and flat four fan, the Miata’s driving feel is unmatched.

Well, seeing as I am too tall to fit in an MX-5, I'm gonna have to go with the BRZ 😂

This may be apples to oranges comparison but which would be better for twisty road, occasional track use, fun to drive, Subaru WRX VB or Mazda Miata Mx-5 ND2? Wrx is more practical and powerful for sure but which will give you more pure driving experience and enjoyment?

If the BRZ/GR86 had a targa, I would have a harder time choosing

If you’re feeling experimental, BRZ. If you’re feeling traditional, MX-5

The Miata is awesome, but I’d personally choose the BRZ/86 in a heartbeat if insurance costs weren’t crazy high due to reckless teenage hooligans driving them

Honestly if I’m getting the Miata I’d go with the rf trim. I believe it comes with the most luxurious interior and a hardtop instead of a soft top. Though it’s the most heavy and expensive trim. I’m 6ft3 so I think I’d be cutting it close with the Miata. If you like convertibles go for a Miata, it’s great in the summer or if you live in a cool kind of weather. I just think the brz looks a little better, is more confortable, and a little more powerful than the mx5

The GT trim with the leather comes in both styles. It comes with thicker material on the soft top.
