You Are STRONGER Than You THINK w/ Joel Osteen

Like many of you, I’m a person of STRONG FAITH AND CONVICTION. My LOVE of my GOD means everything to me and has brought me PEACE, PURPOSE, and STRENGTH throughout my entire life.
Before I tell you about this week’s guest, PASTOR JOEL OSTEEN, I want to make it clear that I RESPECT and ENCOURAGE you to practice your faith and spirituality in any way you see fit.
That said, I wanted to share this UPLIFTING interview with Joel because it goes way beyond any single religious persuasion, exposes you to NEW IDEAS, and most of all, GIVES YOU A LOT TO THINK ABOUT.
For more than 20 years, Joel has combined his love of the ministry with a savvy approach to media and business to build one of the LARGEST FOLLOWINGS in the world. The Lakewood Church has become one of the most popular visitor destinations in Houston and currently draws more than 45,000 WEEKLY ATTENDEES. Joel’s international broadcast following has expanded into more than 200 MILLION HOUSEHOLDS in the United States alone. And his dedicated SIRIUSXM channel (Channel 128) and NIGHT OF HOPE events worldwide continue to amplify his messages to millions of more people.
Incredibly, Joel never set out to do the work he does today. The story of how he reluctantly filled in to deliver a sermon for his ailing father that turned out to be the FULFILLMENT of his DESTINY is a powerful example of God’s hand at work that you need to hear, along with the importance of CONQUERING YOUR FEARS to live the life you were meant to lead.
We talk about facing dark seasons in our lives, and how we can OVERCOME CHALLENGES and by holding onto our faith.
Joel also reveals how he prays, why GRATITUDE is a big part of his conversations with God, and the role of DESTINY in our lives.
If you struggle with CONFIDENCE (and most of us do), Joel offers advice on overcoming your fears and doubts by mastering self-defeating limitations.
We also touch on LETTING GO of things that add nothing to our lives and FOCUSING ON WHAT MATTERS MOST, a lesson all of us NEED TO LEARN.
JOEL OSTEEN is a tremendous force for GOOD IN THE WORLD, and after you listen to this week’s episode, you’ll know exactly why.

Ed, I love your show! You are truly an inspiration to so many people. I was given up for adoption twice in my young life beyond my control, I went through multiple foster homes, grew up in an orphanage, went on to be a collegiate athlete on scholarship, been married for 28yrs, two boys who are Eagle Scouts, worked in corporate America, have my own business now, reconciled those broken past relationships, I believe life happens for you and not to you. By God’s favor and grace He has given me what I thought I could never find possible. When we believe he does the impossible. God can make a masterpiece from our brokenness when we ask Him to help us pickup the pieces. You Rock! Your friend Bart

Remember to ask Mr Osteen what God’s words were when he LOCKED HIS FOLLOWERS OUT OF HIS ESTATE DURING HURRICANE HARVEY. Ed, you spoke some good words but I’m done with you after seeing how easily bamboozled you can be. Good luck.

Learning who GOD is and his loving grace I know I have great purpose and a reason to live. He opens our eyes to what we need at the right times. Knowing his promises keeps me from many fears that others have. He allows me to be giving and forgiving to the evil out there while teaching us how to protect ourselves. God has forgave me and saved my life many times.

Liked what he says but started looking into him, isn't he just making money? Mega churches, 10 million dollar homes bought by charity donations? Sounds like he's just using God for his benefit.

No. Joel doesn't take a salary from his church. He makes his money through his books, speaking engagements, interviews. Why is it that no one seems to mind if people like Tony Robbins become mega millionaires, but when it comes to pastors with a huge church, it's a problem. @@ziggy31337

My son was 8 months old, and as I was changing his diaper he kicked my belly and it felt different from one side to the other. I went in to get checked and it turned out to be cancer, ultimately God brought my son into my life to save my life. The cancer was removed before treatment even began but I went through the chemo to make sure that I was doing all I could to eliminate cancer from my life... 6 years later, I'm still here, not because of my actions or decisions but because God created my path before I was even conceived. Thank you, Ed, for who you are and who you bring to the light with your channel.

This man saved my life, Ed. In 2013 I had a brain hemorrhage and after I came home from the hospital only 2 months later I was depressed and overwhelmed by fear and anxiety. I really wanted something that raided me from my asses and a KZread video came to me of Joel and I began to listen in a daily basis to his preaching. I was raised in a Catholic church so it didn't make any sense to me to follow him and nevertheless I continued to listen to his preaching and I little by little I was transformed into a new person. Thank you , Joel...you are God's Angel 💖💚

I have been listening to Joel for 3 years. A strong desire to do something created in my heart. I had gone through many heartbreaks and trials. I still haven't achieved it yet, along the line I gave up, but whenever I tuned in to his video, the same desire kicks in again. I'm praying for it and I'm working hard towards achieving it. If it's God's will it will happen just as the way God wants me to be or if it's not His will then something better is in store for me. Either way, I will be happier than yesterday. Amen

I believe our entire lives are testimonies. Just a few things the Lord has done for me: 1) He’s separated me and a best friend / business partner, which was devastating at the moment, but it allowed me to step into my calling and His will and run a company the way I believe God intended me to. 2) He allowed me to experience .25 cents in my bank account so I could understand that every bit of change laying around the house can actually mean the difference to someone struggling. 3) He separated me and my fiancé so we could become the people He designed us to be individually, so we can come back together and change the world as He intended. 4) He’s shown me that seeking His kingdom first will always bring more abundance than solely focusing on your business and making as much profit as possible. 5) He’s shown me that when you walk in your Passions and Gifts, you will be living in His true Joy, and you should never chase money! 6) I could go on and on. Our God is great and His children are His favorite creation!

I plan on listening to this everyday, I have mental health issues and can get VERY negative so this and my will + courage gets me to a WAY better place in my life. Perfect timing Life has soooooo many challenges and the devil has been hitting our family so hard. I wake up in the morning and about 90% of time listen to Joel first thing while working out. In fact it’s usually “what are you going to tell me today Joel”. Anyhow it allows me to begin my day fresh in spite of all that is happening. Well the Devil has gotten smarter and started attacking my wife mentally. I’ve seen her slowly fall into a slight depression. Just wondering what’s going to happen to me, my family, how are we going to make it. She came down this morning and was able to hear parts of this message. For that I thank you and pray that just those moments of hearing the message will trigger her to become again the champion that I married. Thank you both for what you guys do and I’ve subscribed to you (today was first time hearing you) and look forward to our mornings as well. Cheers

I am so grateful to have heard the message today. I was at a low point Feeling like I will never be able to reach my goals and feeling very inadequate in all aspects.. I am the caretaker of my ninety year old mother and it is excruciating emotionally and physically. But my dream keeps talking to me.. I am a Tap Dancer. Jesus came to me in the chapel in new york in the hospital where my brother was dying in 1994, And said "let's dance"! With a smile on his face. I took that as direct. Affirmation Because I had been studying with my father. Steve Condos, a renowned tap dancer. When he passed September 16, 1990 in Lyon, France, I was not sure I could go on, And then Jesus came to me. I still wear my father's socks when I am practicing his rudiments in my studio. Thank you joel for that image of wearing your father's shoes. My studio is called the InnneRhythm Studio. I am an instrument the rhythm comes from God. God bless you both.

I'm so glad I found you on KZread. I've been a Christian for 30 years now, and I can honestly say that my life totally changed after going to Lakewood church about 4 years ago. I'm a Georgia boy, and we were visiting Houston because my wife had some health problems, and we went to MD Anderson Hospital there. She had a grapefruit size tumor that needed to be removed, and that was the only place that could do it. Long story short, Lakewood Church was the most positive place I have ever been to. To see the love that they showed everyone who walked through those doors was amazing. My life definitely changed there. I was in a dark place because what was going on with my wife. But Joel and his church were a bright light in that dark place. I will forever be grateful for pastor Joel and Lakewood. Thank you again for all you do. You are definitely my favorite person to list to. All your interviews are money. Keep up the great work.

I contacted cancer and while I was waiting for treatment I went into a comma after three days God brought me out of it, but anything that could go wrong went wrong. God lead me to the light while darkness surrounded me. Then I had a stroke and the darkness tried to come in but reminds me that he is the same God who brought me out of the darkness of cancer. I couldn't work in the field I went to school for any more so I started feeling lost and the word of God change my life, " You once was lost but now you're found", so lean not to your own understanding but every word that come out of my mouth. I will supply all your needs. God had healed my mind, healed my body and now I'm licensed by the State of California as a financial professional WFG. Anthony King

I came to Christ through Osteen’s ministry. The first year here in Georgia. I came out here to pursue an acting career. Doors continue to be closed 3 years later. But I know what God has put in me-intentions being clean. I’m not after fame/fortune like most. I just want to experience one day that I can enjoy going to work… once in my life. Anyways, the lord put a script in my heart, so I sat down and wrote for three straight weeks! (recently)It’s a story to glorify the lord… in a real humanist way. A true look at good/evil, and how He makes all things good to those whom love Him-especially, situations that were meant for evil. Because of Osteen’s ministry. I came to know Christ, now Christ is using me now I believe… to present His goodness on high through my script afforded by the lord Himself. Maybe this was plan all along? Time will tell… Amen

This man’s message has gotten me through the toughest time of my life. People talk crap about him because #1 he spreads truth from the Bible. The truth and the Bible are the ones under attack. #2 because he’s been blessed for all his hard work and people get jealous and don’t know that we’re all capable to live that life if that’s what you want and are willing to work for it. Joel doesn’t spend his time trying to get out of work, he goes above and beyond. God bless you Joel and thank you for biblical guidance and encouragement.

My Abba Father and Lord Jesus changed my life when I realized that I can be okay with who I am back when I was a young boy dealing with and overcoming an operation I had shortly after I was born and the expectation of my life was to Live only till the age of 5. Although done from love, I was smothered and overprotected with a limitations perspective. I used sports and my ability to write as a way to fight that perspective of limitations thinking. Now at 61, I’m re-establishing my self as a quality personal trainer and professional coach all because of Gods awesome love grace, mercy, and forgiveness which none I deserve, but he patiently waited for me to to persevere with fortitude and gratitude to live and fulfill my purpose trusting him.

God placed people in my life that made a huge difference. I was exposed to whooping cough as an infant. I had a God fearing Grandmother that prayed over me continually. I’m very grateful for her prayers but I give God the glory for answering those prayers! Have a blessed day!

Love that line- God created the world in the dark, not in the light. -That really hits home with me. It's when we are in our darkest times that we are being molded for what is coming next in the light.

This message couldn't have come at a better time....I am going through one of the hardest points in my life...I just got omitted from a promotion I dearly wanted...the feeling is heart wrenching ...being someone who is suffering from an emotional disorder..I believe every single word I heard in this video and I believe it's all part of the success story but the immediate feeling of not having the next best thing you need is quite devastating but I have been through a lot in my life not to believe the power of God. By the grace of God I will be putting out my first video on KZread today and the title of this video will be the title...I key into every inspiration shared in this video...God is love...thanks for sending this video out.

I so appreciate Joel Osteen... "People don't determine your destiny, GOD THE does." They don't know what God put in you. They didn't breathe life into you. GOD did! The whole Osteen family is the real deal...this was a wonderful interview. I somehow got it on my phone on KZread. Never heard of your channel, Ed. You do such a wonderful job interviewing Joel. Such a blessing to see two Godly men sharing about God and His plans for us... building other people up is so much The Character of GOD. Thank you for having this interview! I hope to meet both of you in person someday. There is nothing like The Body of Christ building each other up and letting that love and encouragement pour out to those who don't know Him yet! Blessings for your best year yet, Janet

I literally had to pull the car over and comment. After years of watching and listening to Joel, I thought I knew what to expect from this interview. I am blown away again. Joel’s softness, candor and stories in this interview are incredibly relatable and send a great message. “Celebrate those ahead of you and run your own race.” That is a powerful story and great advice. “If you can’t praise those who are further ahead than you, you’re never going to get there.” I think we should support and encourage those who are ahead of, next to and behind us. Then, we all move forward. Thanks for another great interview, Ed. Appreciate you always sharing your faith.

I even died twice while in the hospital, however God brought me out of it...I had to learn how to eat, talk, & walk again.. 3 months later I'm in the gym benching, squatting and sprinting.. God is Amazing!!!! Praises Up

Earlier today, I was told to quit all my teams and never ever go out to play soccer. I listen to Joel Osteen often but then I fell on this. The earthly father and heavenly father perspective was an eye opener for me. I had a father that loved me but never really gave me anything i wanted. there were lots of ‘i cannot afford it’ growing up, so i believe that’s why i struggled with asking God or people because i felt they couldn’t afford it( God cannot afford it ) so i struggled to do things by myself rather than ask for help. This really shifted something in my mind and i am definitely going to work on this mindset. So thank you 😊

I enjoyed this talk a lot. Truly there's nothing more powerful and worth the time than sharing faith and uniting hands to uplift others. It's my dream to inspire others and I believe the paths I'm going through are preparing me for it so I can guide those who go through similar paths to deal with them better and with new perspective. Joel's messages have always helped me see a bigger picture of what God is doing and to rest in His plan. Ed, this was just the perfect conversation, again I enjoyed it well as I saw your faith and perspectives in perfect harmony with Joel's book 😃. All the best to both of you encouragers spreading light and hope to all us listeners.
