Thank you for this. There are many of us who survived childhood abuse, neglect, abandonment.. I am now 59 and still trying to recover. It can be hard to talk about because those that did not go through it, understand very little. Thank you for reminding me that self love is the key and not to feel guilty about it. Thank you for reminding me that I am not alone in this challenge.

You’re not alone🤗. Many of us……..We’re the same age!☺️. I was looking for a long time outside myself for love and happiness. Until I discovered that I have everything INside! (I started meditating, learned to self soothe(calming my nervous system from feeling very unsafe and unaccepted) and self parent, I had to learn to look at the very negative self talk that resulted from childhood patterns…and understanding I can choose to change this…..I confused being strong with being hard on myself. And therefore on others. My fears made me controlling, which hurt myself and others. And I began to see that it IS possible to change! So important the message this lady gives: compassion for others can only happen if we can be loving and compassionate with and within ourselves. Because everything, EVERYTHING!…starts from within……Big hug!🤗

This touched my heart. The moment Zee told her story and said the hurtful words of her mother out loud her emotions were so profound and deep. Despite therapy. Such wounds, you can learn to handle the feelings but the wounds become a part of you. A token of grief and soulsearching and a token of courage and vulnarability. A part of you keeps thinking you are not enough. By telling her story and by sharing this beautiful video with the world Zee transforms the pain into helping others and spreading love to those of us still struggeling. Only a very special person with a big heart can do that. To forgive and honour the hardship of the one who did this to you is very beautiful. I can relate to the story. Both my parents told me ‘I did not want you’ in my early years. So I cried a river too. My husband and child have healed so much of the pain, by accepting my love and by loving me. I am 59 years old. Still learning, it is going to be ok though. This was transformed in this generation, that is what I am gratefull for. Much love brave Zee.

I could feel Zee's ache. In 57 years of memories, one of my first and repeating ones is of my Mom saying she wished I had never been born. Hi Zee, my experience was similar to yours, including physical abuse, so I would like to thank you for sharing your experiences. I agree with your statement that you forgive and understand your parents. You are a wonderful soul, and may God guide you and your family through this life journey. My mother did all sorts, but that's how she was raised, and once I understood, I was able to let go and forgive.

My Grandmother used to sing "You are my Sunshine" to me as a very small child! It is a beautiful memory for me. I grew up in a family of 7 children, I was the second oldest. My mother used to lash out at us when she was going through menopause, I saw her very angry. She had a lot of guilt afterward. She used to say that there was no birth control during those times and life was difficult. Thank you again for the beautiful and touching videos that you share. Humanity needs these, many are lost within their turmoil inside.

My mom abandoned us when I was only 12 years old. I’m healing now at 40 years old but I realize all my life I’ve looked for my mother’s love in every person. And I know that isn’t fair. I’m able to move forward now knowing she’ll never be who I needed her to be but I forgive her and release her. But when I was little, before she left, she would sing You Are My Sunshine to me, and I would sing it for people for a quarter. 😊 That song feels bittersweet for me. May the universe continue blessing everyone with love on their healing journeys. ❤

Zee, I was the first born son of a couple who tried for 7 years to conceive a child in the 50's. Despite the love that was lavished upon me, it was never my intention to have children. When I was 36 years old, my partner became unexpectedly pregnant and I was at a loss as to how to proceed. An elderly woman at my work helped me reframe the situation into a 'gift' that eventually lead to a very loving and nourishing relationship with my daughter. I can never thank her enough.......

The fact that this lovely woman is crying so painfully after all these years for the wounds her mother caused her.. means that her mother has not done her job yet. You can see this from Zee's facial features when she mentions her parents in the list. The vast majority of the tragedies of patients in hospitals, prisoners in prisons, broken families, drug addicts, prostitutes and suicides are created by parents through their terrible behavior. We call these tragedies and traumas time bombs in our society. The story of this lovely woman belongs to the category of miracles. The success of a nation is not shown by GDP, but by how many happy people are released into society by parents. This is true values ​​and national wealth.

in my life the greatest lesson I've learned is the ability to let go of the things that haunted (drama/trauma) me from my past. with consciousness also comes the reality of the past since we're all products of our growth as individuals. sometimes we can be influenced by shared experiences, though in the end they all come down to our individual reactions to these experiences. the act of "letting go" allows us to escape that lingering jolt of realization that the experience isn't the sole definition of what it means to identify me as a person. its just an experience.... no different, no better or worse than any other has gone through as they've walked the path of life here.... every one of us will eventually face of finality, our demise from this consciousness. I've chosen to face mine without bearing the weights of the negative past experiences of a fully conscious being..... which is why I have no fears..... not of the past, and not of what the future holds of my experiences.......

Loving ourselves is the foundation on which all relationships will be built - to withstand, to flourish or to collapse. We must be in a relationship with ourselves that is loving, compassionate and forgiving. What healing work she has done! It’s so brave. I grew up with that song. It still comes to me, so I was immediately drawn into this story. She has landed in the best place after working through her pain. "Love others as you love yourself." How can one love others if you don't love yourself? Love is, in a sense, a practice, a set of actions.Love yourself and kindness (or compassion) toward others, especially your children. I also grew up with the “Sunshine” song. My mother once had my two younger sisters and I perform it on stage when I was about 11 or 12. I haven’t sung it for a long time and that’s a shame because it’s so uplifting. I will sing it today and every day until I die now, thanks to this inspiring young lady above and the capturing of her beautiful soul. I’ll be 75 on Halloween! That’s a spiritual work song to keep me going. Thank you so, so much Green Renaissance!

WOW! When the video started, I just wanted to give her a hug. It brought back so many memories, I wasn't sure I could watch the whole thing, but I did. No matter what we must keep moving forward and it looks like this young lady has done that. I'm glad she found a good husband who is there for her 100 percent.

What a beautiful soul she is. I don’t even know what it feels like to have self love, even at 62. I do have love for other’s. I think what I went through as a child prevents me from loving myself. She inspires me that there is hope. Whenever I see people that are genuinely happy, it makes me happy.

I had recently spoken to my mom and she shared how she is regretful she wasn't as supportive financially to her mom befire her mother passed away. i know this is besides the point but when she shared this i think what she is sharing is that she is also wounded and unable to give what motherhood is for right for me, she also admitted that she has favoritism. It only took about 32 years to hear her about this. Im trying to figure out now how i can be ok and self parent myself so that inner child can be free again. That conversation with my mom despite of that nature, has already broken the glass of despair and the unknown for why we had to go through some difficulty at a very young age.

Nice voice sister . I sung it with you. My mother did not appreciate me either . She always thought thought her Nora my so called sister was better than me. Always I could do nothing right and Nora could do nothing wrong . My mother used to say , not to kill me. But she often asked me why was I was born . She should have aborted me . So I know what you have gone through . Finding the right man is like finding a gold bar in a pile of poo. I am glad you have found love you deserve it . You are a lovely lady . I think i have found the right man. But, you are right sister loving yourselves is the foundation to loving others . And size; looks all that does not matter . The right person will love you faults and all . We both know there is no perfection . I am grateful too for what I have . And BE KIND .
