It was an Omi's idea to kill Josen that he had provoked in Nobunaga's mind. Josen came to take his lands, it was a death to samurai to have no lands. So, they choose a liage Lord, not to serve him as slaves, but for lands and wealth. They died for Lord, because if they do not, they would have no land, wealth and power. Simple way of life and all that: land, wealth, power was determining their loyalty to Lord. So, Omi was happy, Josen is being killed, gis land is his at the moment, he cared no about future.

there is nothing wrong with altering details of a story to make it translate better into a different medium, it's nothing to with thinking you're better than the original author. adaptation, it's literally in the name of the term

The whole cannon story was an improvement. Clavell either badly researched or decided to omit that Japan already had musket at that time and didn't need a foreigner to teach them. Maybe he did that for some story purpose? But it simply is historically inaccurate. The show is better in this regard.

@@SweetZombiJesus The "musket training" always bothered me especially because The samaraii had all just finished fighting a huge war in Korea where the only thing the Koreans were better at than the Japanese was cannons. That said in the context of the book a 20 canon regiment doesn't justify the involvement of so many people. Historically the cannon from the Dutch ship were at Sekigahara but didn't seem to play any significant role

@@forddon It would be justified if it was done for "training". Cannons are way larger than even the larger bore archebuses the japanese had, so it is better to accustome one's soldiers to the loud noises. Remember that back in the day the scare factor was just as important to early blackpowder warfare as the rain of lead itself.

Why do they always have to insert a white male as the bf of the main Japanese female. Is this the whole purpose of the movie. 😂

Uh, it based on a book my man. Which in turn is based in part on actual historical events - his character was a real person, even with creative license taken.

Asian women go crazy for white guys. And back then there were very few of them in japan so it makes sense they pretty much orgasm just by talking to him.
