I loved the way this character mentored Matthew and was so down to earth and practical. His acting did not seem like acting!

Yes, I am sad to see Yoshi go. He did a fabulous job of playing Phillip the disciple. Phillip seemed the most mature of all the others. Philip seemed the most mature of the 12 apostles, but both Mother Mary, and Mary Magdalene seemed the most mature of the larger group. At least in this production.

Noooo he can’t leave 😢 He played his character sooo good 😞 I loved his interactions with Matthew & others. It’s not going to be the same! We all get soo use to the Characters- and love them, He fit this part sooo well 😔😔😔

Very saddened to hear this news Yoshi. You have always brought such peace to the screen. It felt so real like I was sitting there listening to the conversation in person. Your smile is infectious and it continues to be. Whether it is your reported back problem or you’re wanting to try a different character and another program,that is your decision, and while we are sad for ourselves, we are happy for you. God closes doors, He opens doors and we are grateful to have had you in this exciting process for as long as you have been. May God‘s every Blessing continue to be yours! You have brought me joy and comfort which I sorely needed at the time. You have no idea how valuable your portrayal has been to us. THANK YOU! God does everything for a reason

I am going to respect Yoshi’s decision and wish him well. I will miss him. He was one of my favs. Looking forward to future projects from Yoshi.

Always tough when a favorite actor leaves a series. With a long and complex series like The Chosen, it really isn't a surprise. Everyone is on a different journey and few people can stick with a project for years. I pray for Yoshi's future success and for the new Phillip.

Yoshi did a great job portraying Phillip. Sad to see him leave. No matter, he is still part of the Chosen family. I hope the new actor to play Phillip does well. Best wishes to Yoshi.

Yoshi was so natural being Phillip. His clarity when he spoke was great. And when he played his foot being seriously injured, I felt his pain. He will be missed tremendously.

I also loved Yoshi's portrayal of Phillip. He was very believable. He will be misssed. I wish you well in your future endeavors and I hope we we will see you soon on the screen.

Yoshi will certainly be missed!!! He was one of my favorite actors as well. But whatever his reason(s), I wish him the absolute blessed. I don't believe that we as fans need to know all the why's and wherefores. We just need to respect his decision, support him in his future and support The Chosen cast and crew as always! I loved the ways yoshj portrayed Philip, because he conveyed compassion & encouragement , with a ready smile and twinkly eyes. I am sad to see him leave the show.

@@DetVen It could be. Sometimes we have to do things that are in the best interest of taking care of our families. Even if it is a decision I might not make, I can't fault someone else for making that choice. I compare it to college athletes leaving for the pros early. I might have chosen to stay, but I can't fault them for pursuing life-changing money for their families.

So sorry to see him go. I'll leave any judgement about the new actor until I see him. He has to fill some mighty big shoes!😮

One of the Best Series out today!! Believable, Excellent acting, meticulous filming, great set design and simple fitting costume design ♥️

I really don't want to see him go. He was one of my favorites. Hope we can be informed what he will be doing next.

He was one of my favorite characters on Chosen. For me it’s when the actor makes it personal. The same way I adore Jonathan R. Playing Jesus he’s warm and personal. I will miss seeing his beautiful smile on the show and will look forward to seeing him in other projects. God bless Yoshi and everyone involved in bringing the Gospels to the masses!! Philip, as played by Yoshi, was one of my favorites in the Chosen. I’m sad that Yoshi is no longer a member of the cast.

I Love the Chosen ! It brings so much of the Bible to life 🙏 ! I've watched all 3 seasons numerous times! I just wish we could see season 4 come a lot sooner! To watch the Chosen, you know the Good Lord above, is well pleased! Just want to thank Dallas Jenkins and cast, for such a beautiful journey threw the Bible! And Prayers Always 🙏 Amen !

I truly loved Yoshi in this part, but God may have other plans for this amazing actor. I really wish him well and will miss him in the Phillip character, but will also welcome the new Phillip, trusting the cast directors completely. Nothing lasts forever except our Lord and savior and his word! Amen! ❤❤❤❤

Yoshi gave the apostle Phillip substance and character I never got in reading the scriptures as do all the actors in the series The Chosen, Phillip was my favorite for his maturity and how he didn’t back down from bullies and helped Matthew. He did a great job and I will miss his talent!

It sounds like God had a different calling for him. That this chapter of his life was fulfilled and God has different things for him in store.

Yoshi played one of my favorite characters. So talented. I did get him mixed up with the Jesus character early on. They looked similar to me. But all the best to him.

It stands to reason that not all of the actors who started the Chosen will end up completing the journey. Sad but that's reality. These are actors, not the actual apostles. But they do it so well, its hard to not think of them as the actual 12. I will miss Yoshi and wish him good fortune in his next project.

So very saddened at this loss of Yoshi from The Chosen. Yes, his personality was such a wonderful asset. That is not to take away from any of the other wonderful characters parts in this show, just saying that everyone was part of OUR FAMILY when we watch this show! I believe I am speaking for most what others are saying. We connect with each person and their part. Sounds nuts, however, this show is powerful, that is why we are all PART of it! Yoshi, best to you! You brought us a glimpse of what Philip really could have been like and we love you for it.

It is sad to lose Yoshi as Philip but we have to keep in mind none of them are the "real" person so life does sometimes create change that no one expects. I wish Yoshi all the best and I will miss him. He did an amazing job.

I wonder why an actor would even start in a series that they know is going to span several seasons and that their character would always be in, if they weren't commited to stay to the end... its one thing if something happens that they cant avoid but his text didnt indicate anything like that.

Yoshi’s Phillip was really cool. It was really awesome to see him take Matthew as a friend when no one else would.

Wishing both Yoshi and The Chosen all the best…. wherever God guides them. 💖

It is sad to say goodbye to the actors we have grown used to, but the message of Jesus Christ is what is important here. While paraphrased and using license, the show was instrumental in sending me back to scripture, and reaffirming my life and complete surrender to Jesus.

What do I think? Well, Yoshi's interpretation of his character, Philip, was exceptional. He is one of my absolute favorites in the cast. His shoes will be difficult to fill. My hope is that his departure will bring him substantial rewards in his future endeavors, and that his replacement will become as accepted as the current big James is. I wish him all the best and pray God will bless him and keep him close. He will be sorely missed.

I think it’s really sad that Yoshi will not be on the chosen. He was my favorite for sure. But I really can’t believe that the chosen hasn’t said anything about it yet. It’s wrong of them to not be up front about this, especially since Yoshi was so well loved. I am looking forward to see what Yoshi is up to next.

I'm totally sad to hear about this. I will definitely miss him. I wish that I knew this earlier. I pay it forward and I just want to be kept in the loop on what I can expect from Dallas Jenkins and his staff. I will miss Philip and it’s like getting a new kid in class at school … we kinda circle around to see if we think the new kid is gonna be somehow odd … but soon we welcome him /or her into the fold … so that’s life & some things change … we’ll survive and soon love the new Philip too… that’s life things change

Maybe they were trying to negotiate with the actor - and convince him to come back. It's not going to be the same without Yoshi and that makes me sad. I don't know if I can handle season 4 knowing this...I want to keep watching, but this is hard. I'd feel the same way about any of the actors at this point. Yeah, he's probably needing a bigger paycheck to address his health issues. Such a spiritual attack. No wonder Dallas was asking for prayers weeks ago. I could tell he had a heavy heart...

Actors come and go on shows. I won't even speculate as to why Yoshi left. I only hope it wasn't due to health reasons. I wish him well. He was definitely an enjoyable character and I'll miss him. I don't get wrapped up in the politics of a show. I either like it or don't like it. One thing is certain. I will miss Yoshi.

Yoshi is amazing and he will be missed. But let it go. All this speculation and curiosity is none of anyones business. If we were meant to know, Dallas would have told us already. Respect Yoshi's privacy.

Aw, that's too bad. I really like his soft, friendly, and gentle features, they worked really well for the part the way they wrote it. Granted, I haven't seen the new actor, he may be terrific. I could really only say “mucho dittos”(I know that’s badly fractured Spanish.Sorry 🙄)to what has already been commented on. It is a little bit sad, and we hope this wasn’t something negative in the intense relationships these actors and actresses must have on and off screen, but I agree with another commenter that we,the fans, don’t have to know “the why and wherefore” of everyone’s life. If it was something negative, as in the cliche reply is known as “artistic differences “ I do also agree with other comments that say that we should just respect Yoshi’s reason(s) for leaving The Chosen and leave it that. Anything else is sort of like gossip fodder in my opinion.
