Yosemite's High Country With Waterfalls Everywhere. Hiking Glen Aulin Trail to Waterwheel Falls

Join me on my hike from Tuolumne Meadows to Waterwheel Falls in Yosemite's pristine high country. This trail is about 16.5 miles long round trip although I went a little further and ended up doing close to 20 miles total. Starting out on the Glen Aulin Trail I passed through beautiful meadows and passed by a plethora of beautiful cascading waterfalls. The trailhead is located on the east side of Tuolumne Meadows on the Lembert Dome turnoff near the Tuolumne Meadows stables. Tuolumne Meadows is located about an hour and fifteen minutes from Yosemite Valley up highway 120. Don't forget to subscribe to ‪@theyosemiteguyd‬ to keep up on all my hiking adventures.

Your hikes in yosemite are my favorites. I appreciate no back ground music, prefer your narrative and sense of humor sprinkled in. But best of all is your photograpphy skills. Thank you!

You have to do Glen Aulin next summer. Not a difficult hike at all and so many stunning views along the way. One of my absolute favorites. I think I'm going to Alder creek falls tomorrow so stay tuned for that one! :)

I love the autumn colors of nature, the 13/15 minutes between the view of the river flowing into the lake with the rocky mountain behind it and then the color of the magnificent lake... the whole journey between views/waterfalls and landscapes makes me think how much it is beautiful where you live for nature.. great lunch to recharge.. much appreciated video 😁👏💪👍

That sounds amazing!! Don’t forget to get your Yosemite park entry reservations once you have your dates locked in. You can get them now on recreation.gov app. Do that as soon as possible. :)

That is a fun hike. Do Clouds Rest on the way. It's a great destination. Don't know if it's still true, but they used to give you a Half Dome permit with wilderness Permit - no lottery

Awesome! Waterwheel is definitely cooler in the early summertime when you get those big rooster tails kicking up. Kind of anticlimactic right now. But the whole trail is really amazing. Hope you have an amazing hike!! :)

The best way to start a day - A new video from Yosemite Guy'd ! Beautiful scenery and adventurous hiking action. A full day of trail treasures Plus a meal ! Living life full speed. Gotta wear out your legs for the next day or 2. That gritty terrain would slow you down with out your flip-flops. But I'm sure you'd do without just for the challenge. So glad I've found your videos they are a highlight of any day. Thanks for taking me along.

@@theyosemiteguyd Yeah all is well. Shorter daylight hours and brisk mornings. Lots of Maple leaves to rake in my yard. When you started the sky was blue but clouds moved in as you trekked on. Wishing you and yours the best. Hope your new position makes you rich and happy.

Thank you for another great hike and video! As a California guy who would like to do more hiking in Yosemite, what would be 2 or 3 good starter hikes in the 5 -8 mile length (preferably off the beaten path) that you would recommend? Thanks again.

Thanks for watching! Most of the lesser travelled Yosemite valley hikes have serious elevation gains so I'm thinking thats not what you want. Something cool would be Mcgurk meadow to dewey point. It is a little over 7.5 miles round trip but the elevation gain is minimal and its really pretty. That trailhead is off glacier point road. Another less traveled trail would be Alder Creek Falls starting from mosquito creek. That one is about 6 miles round trip starting from mosquito creek which is just 4.1 miles past wawona. But winter is coming and once we get some lower elevation snow these will be less accessible. Hope this helps! :)
