No club ever waits for 5 years for payment for a player. Deals are financed through loans, or maybe a club will take a few payments during one year. Mark is confusing paying for a player and amortization. They are two totally different things. He always gets it wrong when talking finance.

Some deals are indeed paid over a few years and not necessarily everything upfront. Jadon Sancho deal with Dortmund is one such deal.

What are you on about? There have been hundreds of deals where there are instalments.. clubs do take payment over multiple seasons for sure .. does not take a lot to look this up online.

Most deal do use installments but teams usually don’t look at that as much as amortization for FFP which is what Mark is referring to when he says 5 years (most contracts are 5 years)
