I would so like to have been the guy on this cross! Great piece of engineering to get the cross raised! Where is it now I wonder?

Isabeff - It was staged in Dean's Park, the garden area behind York Minster. The play then moved on to other locations in the City. We've just staged the 2014 version in the same place.

If you watch (or read this) and don't laugh, you're doing it wrong. Because this is funny--it was written to be so. But the humour rides on the dramatic irony of the guards. (Like the guards debating on whether or not Christ is twittering like a magpie or a jay.) Such a great piece of medieval drama.

+Christie Sledge you can't tell someone they are doing something wrong just because that person isn't seeing it as the creators intended. It's called interpretation

Thank you for posting this! I'm currently studying the mystery plays in a class, and I was wondering about the possible staging for this one.

...I liked, I didn't completely understand most of what they said but then again the play itself was hard to read and this was much better
