R410a has a higher gwp than R22 according to the epa. Also refrigerants only contribute to 2 percent of global warming according to the epa. Majority is C02.

@@979dmg I always assumed the newer refrigerants would have progressively lower GWPs. Why would they make a refrigerant where you need more pressure AND has a higher GWP? I get it's only 2% of the total warming effect, but there's no reason to make it 3% if there's no benefit.

Ok Steve, you've convinced me to hang on to my 20 year old Carrier, r22 unit. I'm not an hvac guy, but still find your channel mad interesting. I've been watching several years now. It's been 90 or above every day since Monday here in South Jersey and the old ac is working well. My fear is the replacement refrigerant, the flammable shit. Same as the 1234yf crap I use on newer cars. There was nothing wrong with r134a. More government mandated shit none of us want. Keep on keeping on
