Yoongi and j hope are like a singing team!

the thing is, as a singer i know yoongi has potential. he's generally in pitch when he's not doing the super "joke-y" singing. but the biggest problem is that he has a lower voice than the vocal line. the vocal line generally have very high ranges especially jin, and suga's range is much lower. so he is singing in songs that don't match his range, so he isnt able to show his potential. for example when he was performing awake, in the beginning he was singing in a lower octave than Jin and sounded nice and smooth. that was because he was within his vocal range. you can't force your vocals to where they can't reach. Awake's highest note is a C5, which is a whole octave above middle C or C4. A C5 is fairly high even in an alto range, and is the top of a tenor range. Jin is really quite amazing and so are the rest of the vocal line, but yoongi's range is much deeper and would require a much lower song to showcase his potential. I believe he can pull it off if he does it seriously and practices a bit more. He is by far not the worst singer I've ever heard, seriously. I have heard some people who are literally tone def and have gotten singing lessons and become decent. Yoongi is already an artist so it wouldn't be hard, he can stay in key when he's being serious, plus he is surrounded by amazing singers so he wouldn't have any problem. Plus he has said before that he respects singing alot and that its so much different than rapping, and it requires a lot of control. It would be cool if he would come out with something eventually.

Lots of groups have vocal parts ranging from bass to treble. People harmonize using their own range.
