Astrox nextage is an excellent racquet , been using it since it first came out. I also have thruster enchanced edition but I normally use nextage as it is easy on shoulders. So I finally came to a conclusion that high end racquets are very good but not for everyone

Are you using it as a singles player or for doubles? I've been considering astrox nextage to be my next racket since I currently use ax77 play and want an upgrade. In your opinion, can you recommend it for a doubles all round player? I find the stiffness of the play good and they said the tour version is too stiff due to the rexis shaft so I might dodge it.

It’s a good doubles racket, and a very logical upgrade from ax77 play from what you’re saying. it’s fun to smash with VDM material making a nice sound, and it’s not too bad at the net for a head heavy racket. I usually play with high end rackets and I don’t feel like it’s a huge downgrade. Definitely worth it if u can get it at a good price, I paid about 160 Canadian dollars.

@@geminiistu I use it for both singles and doubles. I don’t there are any better racquets in its price bracket. It’s as good as Astrox 77 pro in all aspects except speed. And it can accidental clashes in doubles too but It would be better if you can avoid clashes 😅

@@kyoosuukee it was good but I just realized the nanoflare series was too light for my liking. I currently use the Auraspeed 90kii. It has the right amount of speed I need with the extra power of needed. It's also not as stiff

While the 1000z is great (though fragile), 800 pro really is underwhelming. It feels like a downgrade from the original 800, maybe it should be named 750 instead of 800 pro.

I personally believe the 800 pro should have been the 800 to begin with, as that was what people were asking for: a more stiff, more hard-core version of 700. Imagine if Yonex brought out the NF series in this order: 700->800 pro->original 800, I don't think people would have such problems with the 800 pro in that order.

Nahhhh i think it depends broo. Nanoflare 800 pro feels really comfortable for me, it lacks a little bit of power but my drives and stick smashes are perfect when I’m using this racket. It also feels like 1000z but 1000z is so much stiffer and a little bit head heavy.

So glad to hear someone else say the 1000Z is fragile!! The slightest clash and say bye bye to $250! One broke during stringing but Yonex was reasonable enough to give me a free replacement. Broke another one during a minor clash. Fantastic racket but very fragile.

Yonex made a blunder by calling it "800 Pro". The racket seems more like a stiff version of 700. And slower. Only good thing about it was the drive - and just that. Used it for 2-3 games and totally dump it.

Hi CK! thanks for the video, I currently own an Arcsaber 7 Pro and Arcsaber 11 Pro, but one of my fav racquet to play with was Nanoflare 700 which is just way too fragile. From your description of the Nanoflare Nextage, it sounds very similar to Nanoflare 700, would you say they feels the same? If not do you have any recommendation for racquets that feels the same?

I've been playing Nanoflare nextage for a week, changing from Astrox 77pro. It's pretty easy to get along with, light & flexible, great defense & drives. Smashing can be stiff but the power is a bit less than 77pro. I'm loving it at the moment.

The way you described the NF nextage is almost like the AX 66 which Yonex replaced the AX66 with AX 70.

@ckyew is there a reason you didn’t include NF700? You described the Astrox Nextage as a head heavy NF700, but no mention here. I heard that Yonex was coming out with another new racket very soon, so it would make sense not to include if there was a 700 Pro coming, updating it perhaps slightly stiffer, but energy boost cap +, and updated materials. Perhaps slightly less hold time vs more repulsion as the NF have come to represent. Is there another reason not included?

Nanoflare 1000z is officially the best racket for me. It complements my playing style and has everything I need. I bought it last December, and it broke this morning due to a collision. Now, the Nanoflare 800 Pro has just been released. Should I buy the 800 Pro, or should I stick with the Nanoflare 1000z? What do you guys suggest? Thanks

Buy the NF 1000z between the two, or if you want to save some money, the 1000 Tour (essentially performs the same for 2/3 the price). My personal rackets I use NF 1000z 4U 27x29 10% PS Exbolt 63 and NF 800 LT 26x28 10% PS Exbolt 63. I also own the 800 and 700 and have tried the 800 Pro on many occasions, I would say the 800 Pro is less crispy and less fun to play with than the 1000z overall. I’m a very aggressive player and personally feel that power generation is about the same for 800, 800 LT, 800 Pro and 1000z. 700 can be good too (but timing and medium flex makes it a bit harder). 1000z feels crispier but I don’t necessarily feel that the power is substantially more than the 800’s. I play more aggressively than when using Astrox Series (88D Pro or 100zz), due to the speed at which I can respond to more out of position shots. Smash power is about the same since I usually don’t go for 100% smashes and a technical smash generates about the same power across the board. Keeping this in mind the 800 Pro isn’t any “weaker” than a 1000z in my opinion, it just isn’t as fast or crispy.

Due to the fragility of Nanoflare series, I only bought the Tour series and Game series. The difference between the Pros might be large if you are professional. But for us up to advanced players don't seem bother other than 250$ racket broken easily.

As a suggestion - probably best to measure swing weight and bp by yonex machine without string and with stock wrap, coz different strings and grips weigh differently.

This racket would feel (assumption I don’t own it) much more like a 700 than a 800. Having owned the NF 170 LT, NF 700 5U, NF 800 LT, NF 800, NF 1000Z, I would say that based on the review and published specs, it would feel closer to the 700 and 170 than any of the 800’s or 1000’s A non stiff, whippy feeling, speed and ease of use, is the focus. Having tried many other NF’s as well (don’t own but tried NF 800 Pro, 370, 270), I would say that the description of the nextage just does not align with the 800 at all. I do not own an NF Nextage, this is just speculation based off my experiences with the NF series as an enthusiast. My usual tension and string is 27 by 29 with a 10% pre stretch Exbolt 63. I am a very aggressive player and personally think power generation is good among the 700, 800 and 1000, but other NF rackets noticeably have less raw power even with very technical shots (assuming nextage falls within this category). 800 and 1000z are harder to use, while 700 is very forgiving - similar traits to nextage.

Hi there, I have been playing badminton seriously almost two year. I am still not good but still manage to do some plays. I used NANORAY LIGHT 8I ISERIES LCW LEE CHONG WEI (5U-G5) at first. Then I bought Astrox 100 Game which makes my play more slow and bad defensively. So I am looking to buy another racket that suit my play. I am looking at Nanoflare Nextage and Nanoflare 800 Tour. What's your suggestion for these two? Or do you have other in your mind? I wanted a racket that can swing fast and have some power for attacking. Additional note: I have a weak wrist due to work.

Heyyy, if i'm honest, I think you should spend the budget you have for the new racket/rackets on coaching. The training and correct technique will make you a much better player and you'll enjoy your badminton so much more. Depends a lot on your playing style. If you're more of a control-type player who focuses on net play it's better to go with the NF Nextage. I've been using it since it was launched as it's seriously quick and easy to maneuver.

Headlight rackets with a stiff (not super stiff) shaft. I personally use an NF 800 LT (5U) as well as a NF 1000z (4U) - 27x29 lbs with 10% pre-stretch Exbolt 63. I am a very aggressive player and enjoy playing a hard, fast and downward or flat game. While I can do deceptive and sliced shots (usually only slice the drops), I don’t prefer this play style. That being said I also currently own many other rackets like the NF 700, 800, 170, and have played with countless others (Astrox 88D Pro, 100zz, etc.). My recommendation is using a headlight racket as that will require you to generate power very technically, and a stiff shaft ensures you get feedback on any off center shots. Try stringing above 24 lbs with a pre-stretch or 26 lbs without. Anything looser I find reduces both control, feedback, and raw power (you get more low speed repulsion at lower tensions. but less raw smashing power). The racket will feel unstable, weak, and punishing as a headlight, stiff, and 24 lbs. Keep at it though, even if you play worse. Having a racket compensate for bad form and reduce feedback can be harder to improve on. I personally play very aggressively and have effective attacks on a headlight stiff 5U racket(NF 800 LT) and I would consider myself one of the hardest smashers at my club. While I did receive professional training and coaching, I do not play at a professional level. To improve your technique, practice and coaching are the important part, and having a racket just compliments your training. Buying a headlight, stiff shaft, 24+ lb racket as a beginner/intermediate will make you worse (at first). It will not improve your technique, it will highlight flaws in your technique. Also note if you are not used to playing with higher tensions and stiff rackets, it may cause joint and muscle pain so be careful if you do not regularly do badminton specific strengthening.

@@hugomarze1710 I’ve had the opportunity to try the AS 11 Pro (4U 26 lbs Aerobite) on a couple of occasions. The string and tension are different and lower than what I normally play with so my experience may be biased (I normally test rackets with same string and tension). The racket is slower than the NF series (noticeable when compared to the 800 LT) but not by much. The biggest difference was the speed of repulsion and crisp response. The AS 11 Pro is much slower in these aspects. On the other hand the AS felt very very stable and generally more forgiving for late/pressured shots. The shuttle hold is good and I felt like I could really control the shuttle direction better, but the shuttle also left the racket slower. Makes for driving and flat fast attacks a bit slower. Smash power is good, very good in fact. Defence was solid, I didn’t feel slow (like defending with heavier Astrox rackets). I don’t have extensive experience with the AS 11 Pro, but overall it seemed like a slower paced racket with decent power. It’s not a slow racket, it’s just not as fast as the NF series I’m used to. My play style is generally very aggressive, and that was the first thing I noticed. It was less responsive. I don’t think I’m the best person for testing this racket, as I generally don’t try to control a rally with technical shots. I do know some players who use this racket and are very good at slowing down the pace of a game.

What happens if these special grommets on these racquets (NF1000Z, AT99P, NFNextAge, etc) gets damaged. Do we buy replacements from yonex (where?) or just replace them with regular grommets, and whether the latter will damage the frame of the racquets when stringing etc

The assist bumpers are hard plastic, not the same as regular grommets they dont squish like regular grommets, highly unlikely to be damaged, but most racket shops have oem replacements for them

Ultimately, they can be replaced with individual grommets but the strip grommets don’t need replacing very often 👌

I used the wish alumtec 501, i dont have much info about it but ik its a 90 gram something racket and has a medium flex. Hey, not sure if this helpful, but do you play at a club or is there a nearby badminton store for you to visit. It’s always best to ask the people from your club to try their racket out (or the badminton store for rental) before buying anything.
