I loved this cartoon so much. Tom Ruegger was a writer for this show and he would later produce Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, and Histeria. And the theme is sung by Jon Bauman who played Bowzer on Sha-Na-Na.

Not only the All-Star cast of characters and catchy tune made this intro so awesome, but also Arnold Stang's voice-over as Top Cat who plays an effective and charismatic lead for the treasure hunters!

they all looked and sounded exactly as they did 25 years ago!!..that was the best part - just wish it had lasted longer and had more consistent airing in my area.....

R.I.P John Stevenson, who did voice acting on Jonny Quest, Scooby-Doo, the Flintstones, Sealab 2020, Transformers, and was also on Dragnet. He also did the voice of Doggie Daddy.

I agree. Sounds like what Motown Records in the 80's would've released (especially on Motown's "Gordy" label).

That's was one catchy and funtastic song!

This was my favorite Yogi Bear show... maybe also the opening tune helped a lot. But honestly... even now I know why I liked this serie. There were many great and funny characters we all knew and grew up with, the adventures were really cool and it also had good morals (like in the Greedy Monster episode). It´s sad though that after this great show, something so bad as Yo Yogi! and The Yogi Bear movie had to come. Yogi´s Treasure Hunt remains as one of my most favorite animated shows of the 80´s

Agreed. This is the apex of all of H-B's "animal" cartoons from the 50s: gathering everyone together with most of the original voice cast one last time.

I've always loved that Ranger Smith was apart of the crew.

I used to really love this opening when I was a kid. I don't even remember much of the show itself. I just loved the intro. Also, treasure hunting is an undervalued genre in general.

I remember Yogi's Treasure Hunt back in the 90's when I was a kid and I love this show. I really wished that the series is final release on complete DVD at last like the other Hanna Berbera series like Wacky Races, The Peril of Penelope Pitstop and Dick Dastary and Muttley in their Flying Machine. Because they have lots of old Yogi's Treasure Hunt video and I think the series deserve to on DVD at last.

Best cartoon intro I've ever heard!

I think people appreciate this cartoon more today then they did in the past. Does it have flaws? Absolutely... but it was still a fun show where we had all our favorite and funny characters together (Honestly I like them here much more than in Yo Yogi!)... the morals were sometimes great and the opening tune is just fun-fun-fun-fuuuuuuntastic. :)

I loved this as a kid in the 80s, I always thought it was special having so many characters in the same cartoon.

Another old, but oh so classic cartoon that was made with great thought and effort. Another cartoon that clearly shows the makers' love for their work and we who grew up with it got to enjoy it. Mainstream cartoons of today can go down the drain for all I care

What was the obsession with giving Yogi bear loads of spin-off shows? I never found him that entertaining and he seemed to be everywhere. I thought shows like Wacky Races could've been extended or re-introduced rather than make more Yogi Beat shows.

robotwarsfan03 Pretty much the same thing HB did with Scooby Doo and the Flintstones, tho it seems Scooby Doo was the only one with any success. Like Yogi, Flintstones was just a rehash and a rehash and a rehash. Yogi's Ark was a novel idea, but to return over and over (Laff-a-Lympics, Casper's Christmas, Treasure Hunt, Yo-Yogi) definitely became redundant.

Yogi Bear is pretty lame, but he was Hanna-Barbera's first breakout character on TV, so they kept him around over the decades

Interesting thing, if you watch the opening to "the Fantastic World of Hanna Barbera," when Yogi does the sound off of each show, when he calls the Treasure hunt gang, instead of showing a clip from this show, they show a clip from "Yogi's Gang."

*They don't make classic shows like this anymore, Nowadays they make crappy reboots of old shows with new voice actors and actresses.*

Okay I'm calling it in the Scoob movie their probably going to make a full version of of Yogi's treasure hunt theme as the funtastic world of Hanna Barbara in the end credits

OMG!!! I've been wanting to see this intro for years. I always liked it and loved the song! lol I remember watching this on USA...so I'm assuming it was apart of the USA Cartoon Express. @hilic3 Ranger Smith cares about Yogi. In "Iron Hand Jones" Ranger Smith calls Yogi "my favorite bear". (He also says "Yogi isn't a bad bear, really.") In Hey There, It's Yogi Bear! (which I watched on Boomerang last week) Ranger Smith flies a helicopter from Jellystone Park to New York City to rescue Yogi (and also Boo Boo and Cindy).

I remember the intro song better than the show itself, but I kinda watched the reruns on cartoon network some years ago.

It would be hard to remake a cartoon without the original voices.

I used to watch this every Sunday before my Mom and I go to the market.

All episodes can be found on the net They are TV rips but good quality. Should be enough until official DVDs are released

This was actually an 80's cartoon. Yogi's Treasure Hunt was originally aired in 1985-1988. However re-runs were common in the 90's and way into the 00's. Only proves that generation liked this show and that it was a formula that worked. According to my sources Yogi's Treasure Hunt was broadcast on syndication in 1985-1988, Cartoon Network (1992-2000) and Boomerang (2000-present). I suppose all eras had their good and bar cartoons, but time is a great way to judge quality which is why the old classics survive and find new fans whereas the bad ones just fall into obscurity. For this reason it would appear as the old ones are better. But then again maybe they are despite this angle.

I seem to remember from when I was very little, that I had something on a tape, where one big bear and one small bear ran together and then one big dog and a small dog ran together. But it was taped over really soon, already when I was like four. When I years later watched this show, I seemed to recognize the bears as Yogi and Booboo and the dogs as Doggy Daddy and son. I'm still not sure if that's correct, but if it is, it means that this show was on Swedish television back in the 80s.

It seems that Dick Dastardly and Muttley didn't liked the video (2 dislikes).

Dirk dasterdly's cockpit is huge for such a complex machine (spaceship, sub land rover)- i've been inside tanks and even those are cramped as all hell
