There's another soup called "toğga" similar to this one but includes some whole grain bulgur and chickpeas. But as I see you do it with rice and a lot of greenery. They're same in essence though.

I prefer the Kurdish version. We put some bulgur wheat in there to thicken it up a bit instead of egg yoke, but the wheat rice is precooked with cumin seeds, mustard seeds, whole cloves (remove clove later) so it has a unique aroma. We also heat the mint very lightly in olive oil; you don't want to kill the nutrients in the delicate mint leaves, and as for butter, well... that's just really unhealthy...

Actually, in details yogurt soup doesn't include rice, it's similar but another soup called yayla. And if you use whole grain wheat then it becomes another similar soup called toyga or toğga. They're very similar meals though.

Masters of cultural appropriation, all middles eastern and Mediterranean cuisine is labeled Turkish now! Once has got to respect a nation that disrespects others culture, NOT!!! Actually there is similar Afghan and Swiss dish , the latter is used with beef stalk base too … Greetings from Gneghis khan. ;)
