True, Yoda is a grandmaster Jedi and so is Luke? C'mon. Yoda was 900 years old, you'd think he was a little more powerful than 20 year old Luke, or any other Jedi.

@@EwingAmaterasu - He’s already tanky enough, and with Jedi Mentor as well as Feel the Force, he can have almost 1,000 effective health. If I were to buff him, it’d be mainly swing speed and jump height.

He is the strongest hero. I turned around entire in principle lost games with little support from the team just using him.

Honestly I think every hero would have as shown by the dev team experimenting with passive abilities and 3rd abilities at the end of the games lifespan. It sucks because I’m certain they would have given every hero one for consistency if it wasn’t forced to be prematurely ended by EA…

​@Crispy_DAWG Yeah I feel like most issues this game has would eventually be fixed if EA didn't cut support for it. The DICE devs wanted to keep supporting BF2 but were forced to switch to Battlefield last minute and as a result fucked that up too. It's not the developers' fault EA doesn't wanna commit resources to Battlefront. It still blows my mind that EA had exclusive rights to fucking Star Wars and completely ditched it in favor of another half assed Battlefield game. The core of BF2 is incredible, it just needed more content and some polish and it's easily the best Star Wars game ever.

One very important thing to realize about Yoda is some side effects of his block. Yoda blocks using the force instead of his lightsaber. Blaster Bolt absorption has already been discussed in the video *BUT* when Yoda blocks _Force Abilities_ the charged energy *stays.* This effect is considerably pronounced in duels against Palpatine. His regular lightning attacks count as force abilities as well and thus charge up his force push permanently. What is _very_ important to note is that Yoda can block Palpatine's lightning *indefinitely.* It does *_not_* drain his stamina.

Palpatine is basically impossible to fight as most lightsaber heroes, the only ones that stand a chance are Obi Wan and Yoda just because of their extremely good blocking stamina. He does get annihilated by blaster heroes (especially people like Han and Chewbacca)

ps34evah yes, because Anakin can do Jack shit to approach a Palpatine. His blocking stamina is complete doodoo and you need to have the Attraction card to extend the pull dominance range to even hit him half the time, not to mention that sometimes he can bug out your abilities if he hits you during them.

Bonus tip: Palpatine's lightning is absorbed permanently by Yoda's unleash. Blaster damage fades till you use the ability or absorb more damage but Palpatine's lightning will keep the ability permanently charged until you choose to use it.

He can be pretty decent in HVV but I hate using him in Co-op, his swing speed is so slow and his damage output is terrible, takes so many hits to kill one enemy (only like using the force push when it charge)

For HvV I run Jedi Mentor, Feel The Force, and Opposing The Dark Side. Jedi Mentor and Opposing The Dark Side combined actually gives him a base stat advantage over other saber heros unless they activate an ability (like Dooku's Duelist), in which case you should be defensive anyways. Agility is probably his most overrated card. If you have a team, and you employ a strategy where you need to be extra fast and mobile, by all means I guess. However, you already get two dashes which you shouldn't be using recklessly. He can still be hit when he uses it and it doesn't do nearly the damage of a regular swing. Two is more than enough to stop their health regen and/or finish off a low health opponent, plus you don't take the (albeit small) hit to it's regen time. I replace agility with Feel The Force. It's a no brainer, especially with the "weaker" heros. Finn, BB-8, and Leia all have cards/abilities which decrease cool down times and damage received, which stack perfectly. It really comes in handy if you're in a decent lobby, teams are sticking together and you're in a 3v4 or 2v3, etc, and your teammates are making their way back from a spawn. Or when you know you and your team are about to engage.

I think Yoda is a criminally underrated duelist. He’s probably my number one light side duelist pick for HVV and hero showdown.

Nathan Teasley I like him for his dash attack. It’s an effective way of dealing with people holding down the block button. If you perform it fast enough you can dash attack then perform a strike on the back then repeat that to quickly deal with people.

It depends on the opponent I think, if you are going against a parry master you are kind of screwed. Especially if it’s dooku with his 3 dodges. Allowing him more whiff punish possibilities, and with duelist and lightning stun on top of it 🥶. Although against someone with a more defensive play style, yoda is more effective

Has anyone else noticed if you tap jump just before you swing, it seems to be a little faster? (At least I think so). The lock on mechanic seems to be a bit farther in the air too, both seem to fit the Ataru style.

Tip for ketamime yoda - yoda actually has the only instant jump on the game th minute you land, yoda can jump straight away, slightly faster than other heroes. He also has the best jump swing animation

Only major tip I think that was missed is to activate presence while swinging in the air but overall def a good guide, also Knight solo if u see this, dash using circle of whatever it is on ps after ur last attack to cut out the long swing animation or jump swing and save presence for when in action or else u could get caught without it especially against a Kylo or Vader 👍 I saw u had a nice streak going though

I prefer cutting the extra dash (as your recharge is increased) and adding the damage vs heros card. I run the presence boosting card and the overall damage reduction card and find it strikes the best balance.. the extra dash is okay but i find I would rather take the extra damage to heros with saber swings, partly because the extra dash is parry-able and predictable and i find spamming it doesn't net me better results, plus your already mobile enough with the two dashes and dodges..

Activating Presence to successfully buff your teammates is so tricky, plus his slow swing speed, definitely makes him one of the weaker saber heroes imo, but he can still be a beast in the right situations.

In supremacy his buff is dope because you're team is more condensed. I can easily get 9 plus me which is half the team. If you restart an attack phase u can get almost all 19 other teammates

I realize this is a year late but you can shorten the activation by jumping right before using it. You can also use during a force choke or kylos freeze without any delay

They really overnerfed the Unleash when they got rid of the more you charge Yoda ‘s Unleash the more damage it did. I remember when it used to do 220 damage When fully charged with the right star card. That’s when Yoda was A tier. Now I will put him in a C+.

@@blackshogun272 - For BF3, I’d LOVE to see a Yoda overhaul, as the only reason you should play fast and agile is BECAUSE he’s small, and everything else he has going for him is the Jedi Mentor + Feel the Force = almost 1,000 effective health, which doesn’t suit Yoda at all. He needs a swing speed (2.8 or something crazy instead of 1.6) as well as an overall speed and jump height buff in order to fully compliment his agile playstyle (maybe he could have improved swing animations, where he does some of his swings on the ground and can do two attacks with consecutive button presses while in the leap animation). He also (as sad as it is to say) may need to replace unleash, and remove the absorption mechanic for BF3, as it’s too clunky and stand-still for Yoda. Now, of course, balancing would include some nerfs to his BF2 self, such as hp (650) or presence (the 150hp would only be 50 or 100 on Yoda, but remain 150 on allies).

@@chazzerine7650 I like that idea but if Yoda's heal is 150 hp, his health at 650, average saber dmg being 140, then his health regen should be at atleast 300 hp. He needs to be durable enough to take acrobatic risks, but not too tanky to the point where he's invincible. His health regen speed should be slow like Dooku's. And if BB8 can have all that health regen, then Yoda can have his fair share too! Honestly I'm okay with his dmg output being low, as long as his static swing speed like you said is heavily increased to almost double what it is now. His block drain and stamina drain from parries should be low to combat this. Yoda players need to be rewarded for playing fast, agile, and landing combinations

Does the extra 16 lightsaber damage card work on the dash attack too or just the regular swing? EDIT. tested this in hero showdown with a friend. Extra 16 damage does NOT apply to dash attack unfortunately.

My Yoda just can't not take damage. He's so slow and his animations make him really prone to getting hit, while he's floating around and gliding through the air. They went too far with how sluggish he is.

He's a beast in duels, just save your presence ability until you get chocked/ force pulled/ frozen/ stunned, use ur mobility and parrys, you can constantly keep damage up against people block spamming to prevent their healing, I've chipped away many a vader in my time!

I literally just started playing this game again, and Yoda has been my go to hero...this couldn’t have come out at a better time

If your in a fight with dooku and he uses his lightning. You can send it back at him required that you hold your block

When I play yoda I have 2 builds that I tend to use. Support: where I put all my cards into boosting my team healing, and how long it lasts Attack: mixing the damage reduction, greater saber damage to villains, and stamina cards, to have a decent offensive build. Yoda is usually my last pick for combat, but my first pick for support. He can save a team with the right player.

Could you please do a obi wan or a dooku one?

The agility card is good yes, but as a Yoda main for 1v1s, I think that Lightsaber Mastery is overall better when fully maxed out. If you get your stamina drained in a duel, you’re going to have a bad time especially against a foe like Vader or Dooku.

Probably Luke. Really fast health regen delay and rate, fast swing speed, useful abilities. That said, I think the strongest hero HvV team is all blasters.

Pretty sure size matters not is yodas best star card for ga/cs. I run agility on open maps like Naboo, and switch it out for Jedi mentor on maps with more cover like Endor. Hope this helps

the strangest thing is that you can do parris with yoda i did it and killed dooku wiht no problem and it makes that when you attack dosent make the jumping animation

yoda is also amazing on geonosis. Due to your size and the limited visivility on the map, if you have your lightsaber disabled up until you use it you re gonna be really hard to see and get hit and you re going to get lots of kills. Also never stop moving

Dude Yoda may be the best IMO as of recent experiences for me. I am no killstreaker by any means but I hit 101 the other day with him on Endor. As you mentioned I think that tiny hit box is a total bitch for people

It heals allies the first time it is used. From then on, when you use presence it heals in the area of the map where you first used it, not where you are now. One of the strangest things that can happen in this game is you get a Yoda heal when he is nowhere near you, and just happens to be using presence somewhere else

Yoda in my opinion is more of a support hero then a stand by himself hero he’s still good at standing by himself but like I usually use him and follow other heroes and just we demolish everything

This tells me everything I personally need to know about Battlefront, and corroborates with other things I’ve heard about this game’s development. They judged the strongest character in the Star Wars universe by his size, and learned nothing from the original material about Yoda. They gave him stats like he’s Oddjob from Goldeneye, but if his character was accurate at all he would be very OP.

If you use yoda you have to know how to do jump attacks or you will get frustrated when he gets hit twice per swing.

Does the card Apposing the dark side affect the dash attack?

I tried it in arcade mode, no it doesn’t. Only 85 HP attack from front or rear, very low. If they made it 120 again it would help a lot.

@@blackshogun272 I have noticed it is harder to parry with him, I get some correct, others I get hit after while he spins in the air. Plus he seems to lag with my attack at times, that 1 sec. can make a difference

I think the biggest Yoda issue is he offers no strong counter to any of the dark side BS you have to face. Luke's two knockdowns can have good range for hitting Palps, Boba, Bossk and Iden, and his swing speed means you can do real damage in the brief moments you can. Obi Wan is an absolute tank and can mind trick to shut down abilities, rush to close in on blasters and has a long range push. Anakin pulls the enemy blasters in close and does high damage with his combo chain and basic attacks. Rey is in a similar place to Yoda but her mind trick is really handy for shutting down enemy offense so your blasters can do work. Yoda doesn't have the same useful tricks. Being a small target is incredibly useful I suppose. Boba has a hard time landing shots, Iden is more reliant on blue balls which you can jump and dodge and Yoda is particularly hard to hit with Bossk's blaster. Palp vs Yoda is an interesting fight because you can block him all day, and when he tries to dash through you, you can either dodge backwards with him for a free saber swing or dash attack. I don't think Yoda belongs on an optimised LS team, but in good hands you can be very effective. I tend to stick with the best blaster on my team and play counter attack. A good Chewie is a dream because the enemy are forced to attack. High level Leia and Han are great too.

I would not use jedi mentor. It just gives u like 60 hp so... I would use one of his unleashed star cards instead. And in hero game modes I would use feel the force instead jedi mentor cause it helps ur team. (my opinion) Btw keep up the great work 👍

60 hp when you got 700. but after you've used presence ability you got 850 hp and thats jedi mentor plays huge part cuz 8 percent of 850 more than 60 so you will have 900 hp just like feel the force card but you will also got the 57 hp without your presence that means yoda's health equel like the most 750 hp heroes ;) but if yo prefer use both of these card, you will get 1000 hp then got the op dark side card, 1000 hp and 141 damage = little vader with two block breaker

The Unleashed card that grows the range faster with each blaster bolt blocked is broken and does not work.

Yoda is good in Supremacy and when there's lot of blaster heroes in HvV. Coop, he is a bit meh.

It’s weird that a lot of guides don’t mention it, as its usage is typically banned in the more serious dueling tournaments.
