I like that they were able to translate almost every line for line, but it definitely lacks the poetic quality of the Japanese versions. Still it’s a pretty monumental task to translate a song and make it musical.

I introduced YOASOBI to my friend and forced her to listen to it in Japanese and then realized that it must sound to her like these English versions sound to me.

Still in awe of how a sixth grader was able to write a ‘love letter’ that became this divine song. Now the world can understand its message even more!

@@arifraihan5404 It's actually a 'thank-you' letter dedicated to music entitled "音楽さんへ" (Ongaku-san e) written by a girl named Hatsune for YOASOBI's Letter Song Project in collaboration with Tokyo FM. Tokyo FM has a PDF of the actual letter if you look up the title on Google in Japanese. I don't think someone has already translated it to English yet, though.

This is my most favorite song in YOASOBI. I found new point of view about music from this. Also,I found people to express my gratitude. It's musician,including singers, instrumentalists,composers,and lyricist. Without them,music will never to exist. I'm greatful,all musicians.

when this song is actually a love letter to music, when i think of every line of the lyrics, i think of YOASOBI. when sung, it's like voicing the love for them, whether it reaches them or not, but I hope so. this english ver is one of my fav! no doubt i will listen to it more whenever i feel down, like i used to do with the original ver. thank you so much YOASOBI!

I think Disney is the grand master at that. They have to rewrite their songs in every language and hit the same vowels on the long notes so the lips sync up.

I can't even understand the Japanese version, and the English version also feels really enigmatic.
i love how yoasobi is still able to convey the same message even after translation and how not a single word or syllable feels out of place
