I like having skin on my legs, not bloody scabs (I pick them compulsively.), 2. when my oldest has hyperesthesia (hypersensitivity in the nerves on his back) or is mad about not going outside or whatever he sometimes gets overly aggressive with the others, 3. if I trim the baby’s toes because his little razors slice me up, I have to trim the big boys so they don’t have an unfair advantage playing/wrestling.

And how a dog socialized his puppies, a wolf his puppies, etc. This is how we had to train my partner and I's first cat, who was taken from her mother (street rescue to a foster orginization) very early and only hung out with other kittens and kids for the period she was fostered, and she played ROUGH. She did not understand hands were not toys, and the kids in the family that took care of her named by baby and her sister "Angel" (sarcastic name) and "Diva" because they were both such little shit storms. This is how we got her to stop biting and using claws. When she used her claws on me, I'd stop play and use her claws on her to show her that they hurt, and when she bit, it only took once for us to relay to her that that was NOT what we do. Now she only rests her mouth on us gently and pulls away quickly to show submissiveness or playfulness when biting, or when she says "OK stop petting me now"

Just like human nails, if you cut too far it hurts and can cause infection and bleeding. For cats, you can’t cut that far since their claws retract into their paws

She did well in the beginning, but hissing and yelling is only going to antagonize a cat. You can see the point where the ears go back slightly, and her cat makes direct eye contact. Our three don't bite or hiss ever but they scream and wobble around while cutting claws AF. 😂 Mine also dont scratch me on purpose but it ca happen while playing "roughly" with them sometimes. I signal pain and they "apologize" by licking the scratch. Having scratches doesn't necessarily mean that you are handling your pet wrong. Just dont forget to disinfect the wound ❤

All my cats are friendly though, but I have a couple who love to use their mittens for everything. They like to reach out and grab me when they want to be pet, I have one who loves to stand up and stretch on anything, including our legs sometimes (lol), and some love making biscuits, but their long nails get stuck in the blankets all the time. I prefer to trim only a couple of my kitties, and the rest it’s just not necessary. I also have a cat with thumbs. He has a weird extra claw that grows in between his thumb and other little cat fingers. If we don’t trim that nail, it will grow into his foot and be really painful. So I guess it all just depends on the cat! ☺️

The cat never changed its tone. It was scared the entire time. Idk what she was thinking doing this. It's so wrong to declaw a cat especially the way she did it this is definitely gonna be traumatic for the cat.

@@kizzanimations3024 Not necessarily. We had a cat that had a huge abcess my mother popped. It was clearly painful. But our cat let her. Pawed a little, but never scratched. It really just depends on the cat.

​@@el-j-t That's not quite the same since popping an abscess would hurt but be followed by relief. Similar to how when you treat a wound an animal will react with shock/defense before realizing they're not in pain anymore. Cutting too far down a nail wouldn't be a momentary pain.
