“How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
Welcome to the Young Nails family!

    would it be a good idea to cap a thin layer of clear acrylic after filing the pink and white ?

    You could, but it's not necessary especially since you are going to top coat.

    Greg, I've noticed in your videos that the white slopes down a bit. I'm confused as in the training manual, the nail must be completely straight. I always end up filing the apex too thin because the free edge is supposed to be no thicker than 1mm. My exam is coming up and I'm not sure how to fix this problem. Something else that we were taught, was to build a clear free edge first, before building the pink and white as appose to the way you do it, building the white directly onto the form, which makes more sense to me. Please help

  • @youngnailsinc

    @youngnailsinc

    When you build your extensions, you do want to keep the end of the free edge thin, but the stress area/apex needs to be thicker to support the nail. if you make the whole nail only 1mm thick, this will most likely crack and break, especially on longer nails. Here's a great video to help you build your nail structure kzread.info/dash/bejne/hqxnztmRf7aWfJM.html When you are building pink and white acrylic, it is unnecessary to build the extension in clear first. However, if you are working with hard gels that need to cure in a light, these should be built with clear so the light can get all the way through. We would recommend clarifying this with your instructor as they may have certain requirements or procedures that they want you to follow for your testing purposes.

    Hi Greg I have a question can you form a little bit of a nail curve when your using forms as opposed to using nail tips? I love the look of forms for a acrylic nail but I also like a little bit of. Curve with my nails… pls help I m a beginner and I can’t find any videos on this

  • @youngnailsinc

    @youngnailsinc

    2 жыл бұрын

    If you are asking about curving the nail downward, you can point the form down slightly and build the arch up a little more on the top. However, this is not going to give the nail the best structure. The most solid structure is going to be a nail built straight out from the sidewalls, thin at the cuticle area and free edge but slightly thicker and arched at the stress area.

    Am I better to learn and practice pink and white with french reverse like here, or with baby-boomers first?

  • @youngnailsinc

    @youngnailsinc

    2 жыл бұрын

    It really depends on what services you will be doing more often. If your clientele is more into french, perfect that. Or if they are more into art and trends, then practice the baby boomer. The more techniques you can perfect, the more clients you will be able to attract.
