Hello fussy babies! sap is NOT a by-product of tree resin because resin and sap are essentially the same thing, at least technically. Tree resin comes from evergreen trees, it's darker and more viscous than sap! Both rosin and Turpentine are made from pine resin. I believe rosin is made by heating the resin to remove the terpenes within the resin. Turpentine is made, at least by my understanding, by solvent extraction, turpentine is also highly toxic due to its aromatic content 12-14%. Also I highly doubt 4th graders are learning about turpentine considering it's been largely phased out as a solvent in favour of odorless mineral spirits because it's carcinogenic... Sincerely, an art student currently studying material science.

4:46 There's actually multiple answers to how many continents there are in the world. The answer is taught differently depending on where you live. @@averyeml Many parts of the world lump North and South America into one continent that is just called "America". Some people consider Europe and Asia to be one continent, Eurasia. There is also an argument to be made that New Zealand could be considered its own continent (albeit a very small one) because it is geographically and tectonically seperate from Australia.
