I love the story implications that he goes berserk into Ruin Mode vs Yggdrasil to barely get by for a win, as opposed to the show where he only did it against Thomas.

This was the most anime level game I have ever seen. It sort of makes me want a Yu-Gi-Oh! Style Digimon TCG anime.

EDIT: The Omekamon should insta die at the end due to the blanket -5k from Ruin This matchup can go either way. During playtesting, I got close to a 50/50 win rate with a slight advantage for Shine due to its speed. Honestly though, I think Shine doesn't like me. Throughout extended playtesting since I started filming the Round Table Conference, I haven't high-rolled on it once and have experienced some devastating low rolls that will never make it on camera. So maybe Shine is stronger and wins this matchup more often than what I experienced. Either way, I probably won't be piloting it much after this tournament. Just like Jesmon in BT6, it feels too efficient in the current meta for my liking. While I didn't have any preference for which side I wanted to win this round, I am very satisfied that I finally got to feature the power of that card that really turned the tables in the game's 3rd final turn. But man, it kinda feels like we got the Final Round as our Q2. I'm really curious to see who our two ultimate finalists will be, fingers crossed that it will be another epic matchup. My hopes are still on ShineGrey vs MirageGaoga at the top, but it would be pretty crazy if we end up with a sibling battle between Masaru and his sister LOL. Ngl, that is something I would wanna see. Too bad Zhuqiaomon can't nuke all the Masarus since they usually revert back to being only Tamers at the end of the turn.

I'm honestly hoping that it's Ulforce at the end, specifically because of the story elements this tournament has. Imagine it now. Ulforce, the final Royal Knight, to avenge his comrades, leader, and God themself, challenges Marcus and ShineGreymon to a duel to the death. It would make sense if we treat this game as lore for the tournament since Ulforce never made an appearance on the RK side.

This is why you run at least one (I’ll be running two) Ruin Modes when BT13 comes out, it just resets the board state so well with all the other DP reduction

@TaksaRawdpai I feel like it takes more to get Ruin out, but it does more, cause with the right use of DP reduction you can board wipe even if they have a huge board of level 6+ as we saw in this video

I had a feeling it would be Ruin Mode after seeing Yggdrasil put up the Royal Knights wall but dang That was some serious DP reduction which even then it took Ruin Mode itself to clear the board or namely Jesmon to start off the chain of destruction Love the call back to the original BT2 Shinegrey

God, the fact that Ruin Mode is able to do that much damage is bone-chilling. I have to wonder in terms of story if ShineGreymon was able to shake the darkness brought out when fighting Yggdrasil, or if it'll be that Ulforce has to beat the berserk out of him in the Semis.

That Ruin Mode was so clutch

This is why I’m currently gathering Shine Grey cards now, because his support looks so good coming up.

I’ll be completely honest I kind of gave up hope when Omnimon assembled the field, even after surviving attorney I was like “ he has so much cards on field The Royal knights got this”, then rude mode came up and absolutely decimated

Yggdrasil's gimmick is one of the funniest in this game, along with darkdramon d-brigade discount combo and gabu/agubond

Oh man, that Ruin Mode turn was positively bone-chilling.

What even happened here? There was so much stuff going on both sides. It felt like an entire anime arc.

That last turn was crazy, my favorite from this tournament so far. I loved the Masaru check against Craniummon, that was straight out of the anime, also the chain reaction towards the end of the match was beautiful! I seriously thought it was over the moment Omegamon appeared but you proved me wrong and managed to pull the win with Shinegreymon! That was crazy.

Dang what a clutch victory I honestly thought that game was over after the knights came out but what a turnaround

I really think its a must to run at least 1, never know when it might come in handy. If you have another body on the field, it can even trigger multiple free evolutions

I love the imagery of just a gang of Masarus jumping Yggdrasil like that scene from Jojo Gold Experience

Would be fun if they created an Agumon Burst Mode card. Would love to see how that could have defeated Yggdrasil.

They don't win in this video but doesn't deny the fact that RK is a winner deck in BT13 meta. Also it's against Shine BM which is IMO the most broken deck yet since unnerfed BT10 Xros Heart so it doesn't discredit their power.

I was scared when I realized that could still be played, but then the counterplay turn was absolutely INSANE

Not the royal knights!😭😭 this was very satisfying doe. Surprised Marcus won despite the slow start and rk with the strong start. These are two decks I’m definitely building in bt13. It’s always a pleasure watching your vids rust.

That -37k is nuts I honestly bet ShineGreymon will get hit at some point since it dominates meta like crazy

It's crazy that the greymon decks get hit. But busted stuff like royal knights, hunters with Quartzmon and their save shenanigans, Belphamon, Beezlemon and a whole bunch more go unnoticed.

@joonas vanska It is still capable of losing, though. It's not an unbeatable deck and the instant retaliation to bring it down like they did jesmon, alphamon, and bwgx before there's any developed counter play. Or even before new structure decks are even out is ridiculous. Other underdog decks like suka, impildramon, rose, veedra, and gago have proven they can hold their own. TCGs are severely luck base, as well as skill. Things happen. That's the fun of the game. There's always going to be a deck that is competitively good there's no changing that. Whether it's Marcus or someone else's games, just have someone or thing that's going to be objectively good.

I dont see it acknowledged anywhere, but on the last turn of the royal knights, Omekamon would be hit with the -5k dp miasma from Ruin Mode. If Omekamon is smaller than that, it gets deleted before its comes on and the effect doesn't happen. Obv doesnt make a difference, but a worthwhile ruling to know for Ruin Mode

Sadly my 2 favourites came against eachother before the final round, i am glad that my favourite digimon won though and also in a very good fight.

I did not expect both the og shinegreymon and ruin mode to Absolutely trash an entire field of royal knights like that. Glad i kept my shines to this day

I wonder how a single copy of blitz omni in the Yggdrasil deck would do, just throw it ontop of Gallantmon after it swings for an additional emergency swing.

This was honestly a top tier battle!

Very random, but if you still need a tournament before set 14 drops, you could do a villain based one. With analogman defeated, they could fight to see who’s top dog before the dark masters (maybe) show up in set 14. Could be galaticmon, black imperialdramon, alter-b (if he survived the alter battle to the death I assume), grandracmon and others. Could be fun.

What an awesome match! Ruin Mode made my jaw drop when it wiped out so many knights... that was crazy

This game was EPIC! Such a good back and forth.

Fantastic match. That final knight security was pretty tense but it made me laugh for one reason: Dynasmon and Lordknightmon have allied themselves with the knights and Lucemon. Therefore, this would be a fun betrayal.

I really liked this battle! It's just like in the anime 🔥🔥🔥

@@rustmarrow I appreciate your commitment to following the rules, it's one of the reasons I like your videos so much. Many videos out there skip things or get things wrong (not on purpose, digimon can get a bit complicated).

ShineGreymon and Marcus had to work for that one. I thought they'd win easier so that was a pretty good showcase.

Super glad to see that comeback. I'm not the biggest fan of the style of Yggdrasil, the whole build up a lot of power with which it's hard to interact until you can OTK. Marcus Punch is just too sweet, though. First time seeing anything over come to Royal Knight Boss Rush.

BT13 Shine is broken af lol it winning is barely a surprise at all.

I've been watching Digimon TCG duels for around a year and I am 100% sure this is the best one thus far. I was rooting for Shine and Marcus the entire time and Ruin Mode never dissapoints.

I'm gonna try an x antibody variation of the ygdrassil deck when bt13 rolls around. I just think the ability to go into a 1 cost omni x after deleting ygdrassil is too powerful not to at least try to run it. Magna X's could also be an interesting defensive option and for recovery but I'm not very decided on that. Until it comes out I'll just speculate!

That was a great match to watch, but i must ask solely out of concern if your hands are ok from all the punching you did

Holy crap that match was fire

When Omnimon came out and he was staring down a wall of mega level Digimon I was sure Masaru was done for, but he somehow pulled through with sheer force of will! Plus, if Crusademon had showed up, I'm pretty sure he would have come up against EVERY Royal Knight in this battle. This was one of the most epic showdowns in the channel yet.

Funny thing is that if LordKnightmon (Crusadermon) shows up, RK would've won. It will gain 6~7 memory when the first Masaru attacks, so the turn will be over once the first Masaru finished attacking and can't continue on to BT2 Shine and Ruin Mode.

Close. I had a similar situation like this because ShineGreymon is a bit dumb in a way it can go aggro but heals itself if Masaru dies checking security. LordKnightmon saved the game for me because it just yeets back 6 memory, so it's my turn again after the 1st Masaru attacks. 😜

this makes me want to put a single ragnaloardmon in the deck just so that after omnimon is played and yggdrasil is gone, you can dna into ragnalordmon with a red lvl 6 and black lvl 6 to get two more attacks in

I'm not sure if there is a missplay in 5:30 when marcus checks craniamon. The effect that increase Marcus DP is a "your turn" effect from shinegreymon (not burst mode), not a "when digivolve" effect, so he can't survive the check. In the field is burst mode so that effect doesn't apply. I don't know if I explained well or if that affects the outcome of the game. Anyways, very enjoyable game. It seems difficult to survive the turn omnimon is played but rizegreymon does great sending Marcus back to security.

Burst Mode makes the Marcus that is played a 12k DP Digimon with Rush, and with the -3k DP reduction from Shinegrey, it survived the check against 10k Craniamon

IM SORRY WHAT?!!! How are you this lucky, not only did you get the only 2 cards that had only 1 copy each, you re-used the old BT2 Shinegrey while also evolving it into Ruin Mode. Truly unexpected. Splendid performance the Royal Knights have made, but unfortunately up against a dangerous tamer, they were mere toys to old Shinegrey and Ruin Mode. That strategic play gets me every time, going all out with the Royal Knights and deploying Sister Noir at the end to give everyone . A shame the last card in security was a Dynasmon, he managed to appear but unfortunately not at the right moment. Also love the reference where the current and old leaders are the only 2 left alive after the -DP onslaught, impressive play as always. (Pss, I've checked and congrats. I've seen no errors so far!)

Wouldnt call it very lucky, they searched a lot at the start and had drawn a lot by then, so I had most resources in hand at my disposal. It was lucky that neither 1-off piece ended up in Security though, that would have been suffering LOL

I am now scared of Yggdrasil and Masaru decks

Kenan looses to the royal knights (though only barely) to buy time for Marcus to come in and clutch victory. Yep, that sounds about right.

RizeGrey has the effect in its main text AND in its inheritable. So you can actually use it twice in one turn if you evolve Rize, first from its main text as Rize, second from its inheritable as Shine

Question Why did dukemon attacked Shinegreymon instead of security? I mean, Shinegrey died for effect, not battle so if they they had attacked security the previous turn they would have won

No, ShineGrey died for battle. Duke only kills 6k below and 13k higher. It cant kill 12k

No, its 'Royal Knight' in traits OR 'Huckmon' in name. Otherwise, it wouldnt give Jesmon reboot in the Jes deck

@@Drip7803 Oh no you are just misinterpreting the text. By 'and', they don't mean you need to fulfill both conditions. They mean (1) all your Digimon with 'Huckmon' in name AND (2) all your Digimon with 'Royal Knight' in traits gain Reboot, thats what I meant by 'or'. Otherwise, it wouldnt affect any Digimon cos theres no 'Royal Knight' Digimon with 'Huckmon' in name

Damn, to be honest I really wanted yggdrasil to win and it was 1 attack away from winning, but I guess it had to be semi cannon with Masaru winning. In my opinion, I think the weird decks like, Belphemon, Mother-D, and Yggdrasil are the best types of decks because it shows the creativity of the digimon tcg team and it's sad that they never win these tournaments :(

Just not the right composition of RKs to win against 6 securities. If BT12 Dukemon, Sleipmon, or LordKnightmon are within the 6 RKs summoned, RK would've won.
