it's so nice to hear her voice when it's all stripped down to just her and an acoustic guitar. when she sings those low notes, doesn't it just send shivers down your spine? hard to describe it exactly, but certainly a beautiful one-of-a-kind voice. yes, she doesn't link her notes together like conventional singers do. but that's how she sings, that's her style. YG doesn't "train out" any uniqueness in their artists' voices, so they keep whatever technique/style (even if you argue it's poor technique) because sounding unique is just as important (or more so) as singing well. why do you think YG loves Lee Hi's voice? it's very similar to Park Bom's-- very soulful, sounds beautiful on the low end, and unique. anyways, this is my favorite version of the song-- after hearing this, i don't like the original version as much. this song was meant to be done stripped down and acoustic. (btw, i love her laugh, she's had the same laugh since debut until now, and it makes you just laugh).

I saw a video once that talks about Bom as the worst singer in Kpop. The only thing I'll ever say to people who think that is this- watch this video. Trust me, you'll change your mind and you'll be sorry you ever though that. In my opinion, Park Bom is the best singer in Kpop because she can't reach high notes, but still manages to sing abnormally perfect. She has absolutely stunning voice that makes you wanna cry out of delight. Her voice and skills are unique. I don't understand music well and know nothing about techniques, but I'm 100% sure no one can sing like her. By the term of 'the best singer', people always consider ones that can reach high notes, but to me, those singers have average and completely nothing-special voice. Yes, it's a fantastic skill to sing high notes, but I tend to those voices that are different and stand out. Like Bommie's. ♥♥♥♥

she maybe can't hit high notes very well. but her songs were hard to sing. even the pro can't sing them like her do. her voice is originally high pitch so i think it's better. and she doesn't hide the high note with falsetto is more amazing.

I agree with you completely. She may not have the best technique, but her voice is so unique it's great to listen to. It's not really her fault, as a trainee I think she had better technique but it must have deteriorated over the years.

Kpop idols tend to not reach high notes but they just scream like a 🐋, but park bom's high notes was very clean and consistent.

Honestly speaking, if you compare her to taeyeon, she is way better cause the way she belt those high notes without any struggle is amazing. And there's something in her voice that is really unique. If you play any 2ne1 song you can determine bom's voice. I'm not saying that taeyeon is not a great singer, actually she can also hit high notes but not the way bom does. And I know that every singer has their own way of singing. It's just my opinion.

I absolutely love Bom's voice but I gotta have to slightly disagree with you there. Taeyeon and Bom have completely different kind of voice (as you said above) so you shouldn't compare them... Bom is a powerhouse, whereas Taeyeon although can't hit those high notes as seamlessly as Bom but she has a soulful voice and always put her whole heart in each song. That's why fans love her voice, esp. in her OSTs, so much, not because of its strength but the ability to tell a story.

Taeyeon cracks on high notes in live shows like most of the time (unless the pre recorded background music is too loud to cover it up). #realtalk I've seen her performances when she couldn't hit high notes unlike the way you hear it in digital version. Bom's vocals remain the same.
