@@iamhalal. that's a difference between something pleasant to look at and what we have right now. The best thing would be them giving us an option to change the character displayed in the menu. They cannot release this change too soon.

not having photomode in replay is a massive missed opportunity. Also one thing he failed to mention which I think.is really important they said you can buy coins in 300 point amounts now which is a significant compromise because the costumes from memory are exactly 300, so they aren't scumming you to spend more money than you need anynore a practise in the videogane industry I think should be illegal.

The costume are 400 but if they’re on sale they will be 300. So this change allows you to buy the pass cleanly but the costume issue still exists.

Ive gotten into Tekken 8 recently. It is my first fighting game ever. It has been a fun challenge learning things in game. I have to day that your channel has made learning the game much more manageable and enjoyable! Thanks for the great content and keep up the good work!

Phi, you are the master at analysis. I didn't want to watch the full 2 hour livestream. Woke up to find this amazing bread crumb of into with timestamps and I watched everything in MY order. Outfits, battle pass, tekken ball info and THEN I watched the part about Lidia's play style.

Thanks for the breakdown Phi! I ended up falling asleep during the Live, so I missed most of it. Will need to go back and watch it all when I get a chance but appreciate this abbreviated video on it.

Both me and my gf really don’t want swimsuits. It’s gross, I don’t beach and I really don’t get off in seeing people in swimwear 😅 you people wouldn’t have been able to handle being me in my fashion degree years having to touch up models and draw naked people all the time. For TWT finals, Harada clarified on twitter that players who do not qualify out of the day 1/2 Global and Regional round robin will be able to enter the LCQ on day 3. Which personally I love cause it makes the LCQ even crazier

I'm personally sceptical of the behavioural fixes myself especially ones that squash player creativity and freedom. In most games this is handled poorly or at least nowhere near as maticulously as it should be but if Tekken 8 hasnt proven that they have the adaptability and development skill to make these decisions with the players interest in mind then I dont know what can. A perfect example can be made with the steve peekaboo cancel. The manovour itself wasnt that big an issue, it had difficult execution, it provided options outside of lionheart and helped shape the creativity of steves offence. While it was an "Unintended oversight" it served to highlight the glaring issue people had with steves moves that lock you into lionheart. Using this as an example allowed the developers to make a change to steves character providing players with a healthy alternative fix while leaving his core identity much the same. If this trend were to continue to be reflected across all behaviour and balance patches, I for one see a bright future for the Tekken scene.

I`m lost for words! there are alot of positives with the Lidia event! I dont agree with constantly making character designs simplified for the casuals, Thats telling me that Namco is more concened about selling DLCS and catering to the casuals that dont tend to last very long,, why the competive players are the ones that carry the legacy of tekken forward.. making characters easier isnt the answer to keeping players around longer it actually makes the players bored faster..

Can you cancel out of stance? I'm worried about stuff like kuma 2,1,3 that can just beat every option from f,f2 on block so really fundamental pokes are now almost always punishable on block

i20 crush low at +5 will hit in frame 15, so it will not CH a i10 jab. But it will CH jab string extensions. Double jabs would be risky. Single jab is fine. But I guess you could just dick jab instead to beat the low and the power crush, since the power crush is high. You might also get a whiff punish for Lidia’s power crush after dick jab. Jack’s stance high power crush is launch punish against dick jab. Depends on recovery time. Lidia seems to have jumping attacks in the stance. Dick jab is going to lose against those. Lidia ff2 seems quite similar to Reina’s. Long range (neutral solver) mid into mixup on block.

It is Summer and they have been busy adding new things to the Game during this time so i think the wait will be worth it. 👊😎

4:14 I have a Jin and a Heihachi figure from Tekken 3 who look just as good as these new ones, which is crazy.

Don't worry too much. Beginners aren't going to recognize that their opponent blocked it and go for their armor move, that's an upper intermediate to advanced technique. Beginners are struggling to launch most launch punishable moves, the hard mart would be recognizing that it's launch punishable without the stagger, but they should be able to take their turn regardless (but they are beginners so it's up in the air)

She needs to be plus 5 to go in to her stance if that’s true why they didn’t fix Lee’s hitman stance when you close up on your opponent on block you automatically get hit out your stance and can’t crush anything unless your opponent mistimed your timing. Even Jin get hit out of his stance on block.

cliff notes namco didn’t fix shit. Their online is still trash. and expect all dlc characters to be broken upon release.

i do hope that this patch also fixes some technical issues. The game is literally unplayable on my pc right now because of polaris crashes. This while everything worked fine before. Switched to a ps5 for now to at least keep at it but hopefully that is being patched too.

Wonderful video Phi! I skipped over the Lidia content as I’m not interested in the character. I’m glad I have early access to Lidia and will go through the Punishment Training to prepare for battle against her.

A lot of people were complaining about not knowing the release date for Lydia but let me say this. This game has a smaller development team but through long term leadership, customer experience oriented thought, and a real love for the game, they have done so well with Tekken 8. Let them take their time when we live in a time where these major studios with more resources do way less and don’t care about anything but sucking up our money

Still a little upset we getting photo mode before online training mode and other practice improvements. They priority’s there got me a lil confused

Good info. Nice to have a free stage and photo mode . We can see the fan service with swimwear and the seaside resort borrowed from DOA. The Lidia mechanics will be dissected heavily relative to other karate characters like Jin.
