60 was too much. This is insane.

60 was ok for Lego. It is marvel so they need to pay more than for Ninjago or dreamz because that are there own themes. But 80 dollars is insane tho
this is unbelievable, lego is getting out of hand with these ridiculous prices, we need to just stop buying there product until they lower the prices
@OrionInception

Unfortunately there are a lot of Lego apologists that will continue buying these at these ridiculous prices. "Yay day 1 purchase " 🙄

i feel like that’s incredibly easy and very possible to happen, lego sets are becoming way too expensive that its hard for average people to get their hands on, and harder for parents to justify getting it
@thepartydontstoptilliwalkin

Louder for the rest. Because too many people bemoan how the prices get worse each year, only to cave in and buy those sets at full price anyway.

Classic Lego.
$80 for that little thing? You've gotta be kidding me, LEGO. You can count me out!
I won’t pay more than 40, if at all. Y’all, just remember you don’t have to pay these prices. Eventually, they will go on sale at target and Walmart, and three even better prices just wait for them to go on sale locally on places like Facebook marketplace. Any set that is overpriced, I can always find the price. I’m willing to pay for it. All it takes is patience.
Is it me, or do all of the really overpriced set recently end up with a final price of $80-90 when they should be half that?

Lord These Prices! I wish I could own LEGO but it’s so far out of my budget range these days. Being an adult and stuff.

At this point older sets are cheaper and better quality. I’d rather buy an old set 100% complete in a sandwich bag at some toy fair, instead of a brand new sealed set for 3x as much
$80 for 500 pieces? Ridiculous.

@@boomichael50bmgexactly, all these part are tiny so I’m assuming they’re extremely cheap to produce. The profit margins on these sets must be insane
I think Lego is just setting the prices high so when it gets clearances you think your getting a good deal
I think I’ll stick to rent and groceries…
Its not like we can blame shareholders for these prices. Its just greed
I was considering buying it at $60. But now, it's out of the question. I guess voting with my wallet is the only thing I can do.
Well this just went right down from a day one to a wait on sale/VIP weekend at best…it’s a shame because it looks great, but that Disney Difference tax is way too much.
What was once a maybe is now a 100 percent no! I’ll stick to my $300 Zelda set that’s also over priced
That price is absolutely CRIMINAL
Dag nabit That helicarrier at $60 would be one of those things that I would get first and ask for forgiveness afterwards, but at $80, I have to hesitate and consider waiting until near retirement to get. Such a bother
I wish the four rotating blades were in translucent blue ! 🔵
509 micro pieces for 80$!!!!! people out there must be paying these prices and ruining it for everyone!
At 60 I could have stomached it, mainly because it looks really good, but at 80 I'll wait for a sale. Ridiculous at the piece count (which on these is going to largely be small pieces) and no minifigures. Also wish they would have done a base more similar to the midi scale star wars ships that were more conducive to adding a fig.
I thought it would be $50.
$80 for this? Jeez
Now that i know its 80$ its a hard pass😂😂
Lego prices are getting more and more ridiculous that helicarrier will be around $120 in singapore dollars the only sets I'm still collecting are speed champions but if they increase price further I'm probably done buying legos currently 1 car is SGD40~
Still disappointed it’s not a UCS Helicarrier😔
Oof that's gotta hurt. I want to get this but definitely not unless it goes on sale
Love this set, but not enough for that price. Will definitely be waiting for a discount.
ugh, these midi scale sets would be so cool if it weren't for the prices. I understand that these are collector's display models but the pieces are all sooo tiny. It's the same issue I had with the architecture sets.
Now when stores inevitably reduce it by 25% everyone will think it's a great deal and rush to buy it, it's sad how easily consumers are played.
@foreverfornever1124
Ай бұрын
yeah sadly $60 is more akin to what the set should cost realistically, including licensing and inflation. I can see it going on sale rather quickly. More than likely it will get a permanent cost reduction in the future, and then Ill wait for a further sale to get it haha

That’s how the guitar people work. Shift the focus to retailers, so they don’t have to pay for a functioning online shop for the mass market and keep the online and in house brick and mortar shops for the high high end stuff.
How can this be sold at the same time as the new Milano, which has 4 times the pieces (2090), some minifigures, but only costs a bit more than twice than this (180€)? And also, in Germany you can already preorder the Milano on some sites for 20% off.
its disgusting how much they think they can get.
For a set that doesn’t include any exclusive minifigures, this is disappointing. Meanwhile, Star Wars is dropping exclusive figures for each set even though it’s SW’s 25th anniversary
@JackSmith-ns1uq
Ай бұрын
Your comment doesn’t really make sense. Star Wars has exclusive mini figures because it’s celebrating the 25th anniversary. But also their midiscale line, which is what you would compare to also does not include mini figures. I do agree, though, the midiscale line would greatly benefit from an exclusive mini figure.
@lordly123
Ай бұрын
A) Not only is it not true that SW is getting exclusive figure for each, but the midi-scale SW ship sets notably don’t include any figures at all. B) What do you mean ‘even though’? That would imply that it would be unusual for LEGO to do something special for the 25th anniversary which I’m not sure I understand. The set is highly priced, but I do not understand your specific points.
@BboyCustomz
Ай бұрын
Genuine question, which one of these 3 options apply to you? Having exclusive figures makes it more valuable: because you'd want to have it as a collector; because you'd want something people can't get in another set; because it does cost lego a little bit more designing and producing a new fig and you accept that they charge more I usually don't mind minifigs that much so I'm curious about your perspective.
@ethanarndt6359
Ай бұрын
Mid Scale sets never have minifigs. Even the Star wars Mid Scales don't have Minifigs, WHILE it is the 25th. So your literally crying about nothing lol, actually if anything the star wars ones should have minifigs and marvels shouldnt.
I wonder if this is like the Ahsoka’s 332nd Battle Pack that started at $27 and was reduced to $20 at launch. Maybe this set will be $60 on August 1st?
Ain't no way
I really like that they're trying to make some adult targeted sets that aren't massive things that take up an entire shelf, but this is honestly still priced like it is. 80 bucks can get me so much more in other themes, this isn't even worth a consideration for me
Strike one was the HOOPTY, STRIKE TWO was the X JET, THIRD STRIKE IS THIS HELICARRIER.
I know inflation is a big factor, but the airport battle set from civil war was the same price…
The price point of these 350-650 piece sets are getting ridiculous. Especially considering the use of smaller and smaller pieces, less plastic overall, so material costs aren't an excuse.
Branching out to the adult market was a mistake
@ScottTice1971
Ай бұрын
True, I find those black boxes that “18+” sets come in so lifeless and unexciting. I can’t believe the 215$ they wanted for the Eldorado Fortress remake, but they want to capitalize off of their adult fanbase’s nostalgia for those original sets so I don’t see them stopping.
(Probably outside the US especially,) I think high prices are made worse for customers thanks to the fact that Lego now retires sets very quickly (sometimes within a year or so). Wheres before, if a set is too expensive for you, you had the time to wait for it to become cheaper (doesn't always happen) or at least had more time to save up for the set, now you don't know when the sets disappear from store shelves of physical retail, Amazon, etc. Past the retirement date, many sets can disappear at any moment even from Amazon. I've started buying some sets (primarily Star Wars) used thanks partly to this (if it's only the build, it's usually cheaper than the initial retail price), and I think I'll continue to do so. This is my experience in Japan anyway, but I suspect it applies to some other countries as well, maybe with some exception of the US where you have much bigger customer base and big retailers like Walmart (when I look up a set on US Amazon that's already retired in Japan, I tend to see them remain listed & sold at regular retail price (longer than in here).
you're awesome, jang. i know you've been going through some changes in how you create content... I just wanted to let you know that these videos where you're just being yourself and talking about your interests always make me happy. this is honestly my favorite type of video that you make. keep being you and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. happy to see you coming out of your shell again.
Lego prices are totally outrageous these days. I'd expect them to do better. Will be pulling back my purchasing for sure (I already have) and focusing on enjoying what I have
im a huge AC follower. Sails are not wingsails anymore , in the AC but dual layered now. Jib is a regular sails.
42174 is amazing! I wonder if there are any interesting/useful parts in it? ... especially: useful for doing alternates.🤔
do you have a ko-fi link or similar for anyone not in a country with an affilate store?
Bad joke. I think we reached peak absurdity from Lego pricing team.
Is that our New Zealand flag on the Americas Cup Yacht, hang on New Zealand is in the name, this is a must have for a NZ born Kiwi like myself. Loved all the other sets too.
It’s not even using a lot of special parts or colors and doesn’t e en have Nick Fury minifig or Coulson…. Crazy for that price.
There's about 80 things I'd rather buy with that much money. Sorry, at this point, I'm out. I enjoyed being an AFOL while it lasted, but time to spent my time with other things (to be fair, haven't bought LEGO in the last 2 years anyway due to the prices and more enjoyable things to do).
I really like this Helicarrier set and I kinda wanted to get one but that price is wild. $60 would've felt a bit overpriced, but that $80 price tag is atrocious. It's just sad.
This is absolutely unbelievable, they have to stop with these absolutely insane prices. This set has no figs, you could probably bricklink it for cheaper at this point
Fans remembering the $50~ Midi-Scale Falcon and Star Destroyer: “Bring back Midi-Scale!” LEGO with 2024 prices: “Okay. 😐”
Was actually gonna start collecting some Lego but their prices lately have put me off, I'm out lol.
Does the set include stickers? The price becomes slightly more reasonable if all those prices are printed
I'm a big Marvel Lego fan, but I will be skipping this one. Maybe when it goes on sale for $40.00
Yeah, that’s disappointing. I think I’m still going to get it, but I’ll probably wait for a while to see if I can get SOME kind of discount
For $60, I was considering it. For $80? "No... No I don't think I will."
I love legos!
Is everything just 80 bucks now for 500 pieces, good lord
People will line up for this, buy multiples with the knowledge that it’ll increase in value after retirement, resell it for 3x the value, rinse and repeat.
I've kind of fallen out of favor with Legos in the last 2/3 years due to the price increases. It's just comical at this point. It's not some minor jump, it's absolutely outrageous, and it doesn't seem to stop. The worst thing is doesn't just affect Lego itself, it affects everyone tangential to Lego like KZreadrs and stuff. I don't consume their content as much because I don't consume Legos as much (weird sentence but you know what I mean), so it just hurts everyone
Time to let LEGO know to either renegotiate its licensed properties (i.e., anything owned by Disney) fees or just drop the lot of 'em. Otherwise I fear this will drag LEGO down. Star Wars and Marvel just aren't worth it anymore IMO.
500 pieces and no figures, even 60 would be dubious, 80 is very expensive for what it is. Marvel is yet again the most overpriced Lego Line
MAN I REALLY WANT IT, BUT I CANNOT JUSTIFY THAT PRICE. Anything early Marvel (ESPECIALLY that can be connected to Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.) is SICK, but... Just, no. $80 is too much, especially if it doesn't include a red roller skate piece for Lola.
$80 for 500 tiny pieces is WILD 💀
I honestly think this is WAYYY to pricy for a set like this :c
My god...
That set looks really nice.... For £30 or so. If you decide to review it I'll watch with interest, but I certainly won't blame you if you don't get it due to the price!
Really cool, hate the price but what can ya do
100 cad for something i wouldnt pay above 50 yikes
Thank you.
Ash to ash,dust to dust,shelf to shelf.
The lesson here kids is always assume the higher price when it comes to Lego.
There is no way to justify this pricing
Wow that is a little pricey for what it is but it is going to go nicely with the avengers tower!
No way
HOW MUCH???????????????????
thats 12 usd of plastic. coming soon by a knockoff near you
80 dollars and all stickers....thats a whole lot of nope
Such prices need to be avenged...
And the SW Skiff was a ripoff at $80...
This is highway robbery
So small for 80

that is a 40 dollar set
Helicarrier is overpriced 😂
expensive
$50 at best
That price is obscene... At least its not got any minifigs, so i can happily ignore it.
I can't even watch most of the Lego shills anymore. Not objective at all, and apparently not informed either.
LEGO? Expensive?! Who woulda thought!
We need a boycott, this is stupid.
That’s a lot, BUT remember we have no choice…
Prices are honestly fine, people nowadays are just more entitled and want everything handed to them for nothing.

I don't want my Lego's for free. I work hard to earn somewhat decent money, and i want to buy some nice toys for equally decent prices. Inflation happens not by people with median income, inflation happens when stupid rich people start outspending each other on stuff to try and make money of of it. Why should we pay for other people's greed? And even more weird, how in the devil, do you get the idea to call people who ask not for give-aways but for fair pricing, entitled?
What about the Aus price, don't hate on us please
