Yep, it's OFFICIAL. I LOVE UMEÅ! 🇸🇪 SWEDEN #24
DAILY VLOG #24 of 27. DAY TRIP TO UMEÅ aka the party town aka the hipster town aka where all the kool kids hang out. Mattias and I took a 2 hours bus ride south to the town of Umeå where Mattias used to study at Umeå Universitet.
We meet up with the one, the only GRILLJAKE aka Jakob who kindly became our tour guide around Umeå. We fika'd like crazy and my heart exploded with happiness (but also sadness because I felt really sad that my time in Sweden is soon coming to an end...).
We window shopped a lot and I ended up buying my favourite board game (Ticket to Ride, the Europe edition). We headed back to Jake's place to hang and play said board game.
We end the night having dinner at Vezzo's (some fancy and hip Italian restaurant with cool décor)... and then we say hejdå to Grilljake and head back to Skellefteå.
I've really been feeling sad about leaving Sweden :( but I guess it's nice to feel sad... because then I know what it is that makes me happy.

So do I! I also live here, and after so many years of it, Umeå gets kind of boring... there’s not a whole lot to do. So people saying that they like it her is so odd!

Umeå seems like such a cool place! and i wish we had a book vending machine too hahaha and you're making me want to visit sweden even more than i already wanted! I definitely want to visit more of the north of europe, and your videos always make me want to do it more

A book vending machine? I wonder how they'd do here in the US?I think it is an indication of how comfortable you feel in Sweden that you feel so melancholy about going home to Australia. Sure, there's also the uncertainty of your professional situation and THAT must be daunting, but being the Swedish-head that you are I can totally see being sad to go. These are great vlogs Leonie, I am really enjoying them.
It’s rather odd seeing someone enjoy Umeå, I’ve lived here my entire life and there’s just a certain amount of things to do, it gets kind of boring after a while... but I’m happy that you enjoyed your time here!

:D It's actually pretty hard to speak Swedish as everyone speaks such good English so it's easier just to speak in English :/ but I definitely picked up a lot more vocabulary since I've been here!

@@SR-xw3rx I know you didn’t ask me but I live here to and I can answer them if you’d like. I would say it’s safe in Umeå, of course it happens things sometimes. But it’s a very calm city. I live in the part of umeå that is a little bit messier but I still walk out at night and feel safe.
