Ever since I met Son I have been in love with her playing. She is unable to do something wrong with this Chopin. Thank you Tasmanian Symphony for supporting her so well.

Agreed. My new favorite version of one of my favorite piano works because of the second movement. I would give special recognition to the bassoonist for matching what she does in the second movement.

Wonderful interpretation. Yeol Eum Son understands Chopin perfectly.

I've been listening to this play from time to time for months. After listening to this performance up close today via my smartphone, I was convinced: I believe that such a performance has never existed before and will never exist in the future. It is perfect and beautiful. Watch her demonic eyes in the third movement. She has full control of everything. Put it in your ear and listen closely. Each sound is so clear and beautiful.

Her Chopin is like dancing of notes! Always excellent ,,,,, perfect.

Everything about Ms Son's playing is astonishing to me - nearly superhuman! But the most astounding is her combination of passion with precision and discipline. How wonderful to be able to hear her work at this moment in history! Great support from the Tasmanian orchestra as well of course.

What technique and what sensitivity . A very nice demonstration ! Well done ! ❤

Conductor James Conlon said in 2009 at the van Cliburn competition where Yeol Eum was a silver medalist that the 2nd movement was "all that matters". Every time I hear Yeol Eum playing the 2nd movement, it gives me the goose bumps. I do however prefer the 2nd movement she played 12 years ago.. Maybe you are right about the second movement, maybe not. You will find that out in Hague on 16 april. Me myself is comfortable with this slower tempo.

But maybe she doesnt play this Chopin 2nd at your consert? As I have said in my commentary I find this second special interesting because of its slow tempo. But also because I havent heard Son in another version. We tend to get used to what we heard before. Good luck in your searching. And I agree: Son is the best.

Wow, I am shocked. I have listened to this playing almost every single day since its release because her playing is honest, clear and brilliant. However, views still stay around 29,000? I like Rosalía Gómez Lasheras' playing as well. I really love both playing the most. Thank you both! However, Yeol-eum is so underrated in terms of views. 😢

After discovering her here a few months ago she is now my 2nd favorite female pianist behind Yuja Wang. Everything she plays is sublime. She is a master communicator at the piano. For my taste her playing is so satisfying emotionally and she has all the chops.

@@ravenstrobe Yuja still is my favorite but not by much. I'm in love with sublime artistry. Both blow me away. Son's Schumann Fantasie especially the 3rd movement still brings tears to my eyes. I love her playing so.
