according to some people since this is their 5th year anniversary, this song has many throwbacks to their previous comebacks. Soyeon's scorpion (HANN), Minnie's shield (LION or it could be the AEGIS SHIELD which was used to kill medusa), shuhua's cake (TOMBOY - Soyeon's infamous rap scene) and Miyeon's scene is extremely similar to the one in OH MY GOD. Also, Soyeon also mentions I NEVER DIE in the lyrics. The statue on which soyeon is standing during her rap part is probably ATHENA (a very famous goddess in Greek mythology and the on ewho gave the aegis shield)

Shuhua also represents queencard cause of the card in the cake and the Alice theme as that was a big theme for the queencard era. This whole thing has a lot of references and I’m here for it

I think that Yuqi was styled as Cruella is also a reference to Yuqi's nickname as "Giant Dog".

yes Soyeon has a truly incredible and unexpected journey. when we see her in produce 101 or in unpretty rapstar and we have the way now the evolution is phenomenal. At the time of produce she received a lot of vile and inappropriate comments about the fact that she was too ugly and lacked charisma to be an idol. Everything she did with (G)idle is I think Soyeon thumbing her nose at all these detractors. Nowadays it's rare to see an idol with so much charisma and self-confidence. (G)idle does it again and again, they have just made several comebacks which were very successful. Yuqi is my favorite in this one i love her part and her look as Cruela devil. i hope than Yuqi and Minnie are fine now because i think they 're sick and than we have to wait for they're live comeback .

Yea! Prod101 Soyeon was insane for a rookie. New (G)I-Dle fans should definitely check that out if they're now just discovering her vocal talents. Soyeon is an idol beyond elite for what she can provide not just for herself but for her members. This comeback is insane! If I remember correctly, she mentioned she began writing this album since 2021?

Miyeon is Cleopatra (who was killed with Snake Venom she was feared because of her Power to take over the World) The Hat that Soyeon wears in the Beginning and also the other Members during the MV is a reference to Beyoncé (the Comeback was inspired by her After they saw her in Concert) So true their No Skip Discography just Continues with their 2nd Full Album 👍🏻

My thinking was that the tea party is more overall evocative of Alice in Wonderland imagery, which they’ve used before and the video has many callbacks. Plus, she appears with “Cruella” who a fairytale (Disney) characters so made that connection. The musket I took to be more reflective of the lyrics. As well as the video uses women anti-heroes as it’s overall theme… However technically I do suppose that could apply to Marie Antionette. It just seems less fitting because MA wasn’t really an empowered, proactive female figure - she was basically a rich person who abused her privilege gained through marriage and got beheaded. The Queen of Hearts was a ‘villain’ but she was powerful, dominant and proactive

Actually the statue isn't a random man statue, it's the statue of Laocoön (you can see it in a duo shot of Minnie and Soyeon, the statue's beard and even the whole face are identical to Laocoön's) and this Greek myth tells that Laocoön, who disobeyed the will of the gods, was strangled to death by two giant sea serpents sent by Athena (Based on this snake concept, I agree on the connection between Minnie - Medusa, and maybe because Athena, whom Soyeon probably represents, is also an important part of this myth, that's why she's the second serpent?). If you think my addition makes sense, I'd love to hear what you think! Always love your reactions and interpretations!

Idk if it was intentional but with the couple scenes its very interesting how soyeon (athena) is with minnie (medusa) and im not that educated on greek mythology but i think they were pit against each other in the stories ? Idk . A little bit of context about Soyeon, Minnie, and Miyeon's representative woman figures: Soyeon represents Athena, the Greek goddess of War and Wisdom. She is often seen wearing full Greek-style armor with the traditional Spartan helmet and holding a spear. Minnie represents Medusa, one of the three Gorgons, and she is described as a female figure with snakes for hair and with an appearance so hideous anyone who looked at her would turn into stone. (This is the original part of the Greek myth, there is a Roman variation but since I am Greek myself I prefer to go by the original). The "turn into stone" part is fully realized when Minnie has her eye turn colors, from light blue to gray, almost silver. And last but not least, Miyeon represents Cleopatra, the Queen of the Ptolemaic Kingdom of Egypt. She decided to end her life by being poisoned but the general belief was that she had a snake bite her hence the snakes creeping in the throne Miyeon is sitting on.

She IS a woman, but she doesn't want others to place stereotypical roles and expectations of gender on her and on her group. And of course she wants to celebrate being her own woman self which is being strong and powerful, not wife-like or a sexualized being only. If you don't know how big is the rising of anti-feminism and conservatism in Korea among young males, you should be very proud of her for being able to release such popular songs in that environnement.
