If this eruption were to be caused by a sudden release of pressure like the Krakatoa eruption, it would look very different. For one, the eruption cloud would shoot up into the atmosphere much quicker. So quickly and so intensely, in fact, that the sound created would create an air vacuum well above the maximum 194 decibels at which a sound wave can still be audible. So the eruption would be loud enough to create a sonic shockwave that would uproot everything around the eruption site instantly. It would be less of an eruption, and more like an explosion.

This an awesome simulation video! For anyone that is wondering, if you were this close to the eruption you would most likely be killed almost instantly by the wave of heat radiation traveling away from the blast (This wave can travel many 10's of thousands of miles per hour,) the heat wave would incinerate anything in its path; or the blast wave itself. (Blast waves can travel over 10x the speed of sound.) From what I understand, everything within 200 miles of the blast would be immediately turned to ash so to speak. So in other words, enjoy this simulation but don't dwell on this possible reality. Yellowstone has been dormant for a long time, and has showed no recent signs of increased activity unless something changed within the past week. Live everyday to the fullest, much love!

Not to mention the climate effects and cascade of other issues that would follow. The supply chain is... so screwed

Basically the further you are from the caldera, the safer you would be from the eruption itself. But the long term effects of such an eruption would eventually spread all around the globe.

The way Tonga's ashcloud could be seen from space, and that's just Tonga, Yellowstones ashcloud would likely be hundreds of times larger, likely smothering the entire N American continent in a thick black ash cloud. This ashcloud would also produce giant thunderstorms from the friction of the dust inside the clouds. You saw this after Tonga's volcano where 200K lightning strikes were produced in an hour whilst only a few thousand strikes were recorded in the 2 weeks prior to the explosion

I'm expecting thunderstorms with hurricane winds here in Southern Ontario, anything but recieving the ash in dry form in the air that can kill people. If it comes down with the rain we stand a chance. Probably have the most freakish lightning that we have ever seen with the charge Yellowstone will be throwing into the gulf stream and the westerlies. St. Vincent gave us red ash clouds from the gulf stream and the westerlies in April, and it was raining the whole time brown and red and the lightning was purple.

This is actually displaying worse case scenario. There have been varying degrees of explosive volcanic power throughout the history of Yellowstone. The last time Yellowstone exploded according to geologist was 70,000 years ago. But geological records show that eruption paled in comparison to the one that occurred 650,000 years ago. Not all eruptions at Yellowstone had the same strength

damn good considering what you're working with. clouds though i think either need to be larger with more noise detail or smaller but def more rng in their noise. they form a repeating and predictable pattern in the sim currently. the blast wave throwing the car and all the trees/debris it picked at the camera imho would have been a nice finisher.
