I've visited Yellowstone twice and didn't have to deal with the crowds either time fortunately. Once in May and once in September. I stayed at The Old Faithful Inn the first time I visited and saw Beehive Geyser erupt my first afternoon there. I saw Old Faithful erupt many times during my stay as well. Yellowstone is truly a national treasure. ❤️

I'm glad they built an overlook for Grand Prismatic... When we went, we just had to climb up a hill and hope for the best. It's SO much more spectacular when seen from above. And Firehole Lake in the Lower Geyser Basin is a wonderful place... We went in late August when there were significantly fewer people in the park, and we had Firehole Lake pretty much to ourselves the entire time we were there. We also managed to snag one of those benches for Castle in the mid-afternoon and sat there eating huckleberry ice cream bars while we waited. I miss Yellowstone! :(

I’ll let this comment count for both parts 1 and 2. Awesome video(s) again and great job showcasing the many highlights of this park. Yellowstone is definitely in my top 5. Just an incredible, incredible place. I have such fond memories of my parents taking me here on a few summer vacations as a child. This is the park that opened my eyes and started my affinity for these treasures. Also what an amazing way to kick of your trips with your son. Truly a memory he soon won’t forget. I just started taking solo trips with my older two sons this year. I have one upcoming with my oldest in early October. Nothing to this degree, just an extended weekend type of trip. He wants to hit up some of the National Battlefields in Virginia and I think we are also going to attempt to hike Old Rag Mountain since I won’t have the youngest or the dog in tow.

Yellowstone is actually good hiking. The go to peaks are Electric and Barronette. Old Faithful is the fatal funnel. Lol. It is a 330 mile loop from Jackson to Yellowstone and back 460 miles to Lander and around back to Pinedale. And of course the Beartooth runs out northeast.

I'm rather jealous, lol, that you got to see Grand Prismatic Spring in all that color splendor! I was there the 3rd week of Sept. 2017, and there was quite a snowstorm then. Because it was cold and about 28 degrees while I was viewing Grand Prismatic, the steam in that cold weather caused there to be no color. I was so disappointed, because that was the one thing I wanted to see with all its beautiful colors, and it didn't happen. I still thoroughly enjoyed my time in Yellowstone, though. Thank you for reminding me of its beauty in your phenomenal videos.

Good stuff. A "double" with Old Faithful and Beehive is always fun. I haven't been back since they've opened that overlook trail above Grand Prismatic--hoping to see that at some point. Hope you went in the Old Faithful Inn--that is the single coolest building on Earth. I worked in the park for half a year in 1989, and my final month I was the "night porter" at OFI, which meant I cleaned the public areas while the guests were mostly asleep. I can tell you, dusting and polishing all of those wooden railings and posts on the three floors of that lobby took several hours. Good memories, still.

Thanks again for sharing! Absolutely one of my most favorite parks ever! Yes- Grand Prismatic Springs lives up to it's name. Absolutely beautiful to see those colors so vividly in nature. I loved all the geysers and Springs throughout, and just the overall differing landscapes in Yellowstone, and in general throughout WY. We actually stayed in West Yellowstone when we went in 2006, and I believe we ate at that same pizzeria!😊🍕 Looked like you guys had a good time! 🏞

If you haven’t done so, you should do a winter snowmobiling trip thru Yellowstone! Our entire family did it as a Christmas trip. Amazing to see the park in a different season.

Hello again Randy ! Beautiful video ! Nice to see some of your fan’s! We also have the same opinion about the view of the Prismatic up there is the best spot ! 👍 It’s so funny ...we had pizza at the same place as you in West Yellowstone it was really good , we were camping at one of the 2 KOA campground. Did you ever try pizza with a bit of honey 🍯 ...try it ! In Banff city Canada there’s a restaurant call Bear’s Pizza on Bear’s street , it’s there we tasted it for the first time ! It’s really good !👍 Have a great upcoming weekend Randy ! H&S 👩‍❤️‍👨🌈🇨🇦

Hey..Hey Americas Parks..GREAT advice, on bringing some cold weather gear if you are visiting Yellowstone..I visited Yellowstone when I was 10 years old, and it was mid-June, and I remember how cool the mornings were..and I live in North Dakota, so, if it felt cold to me, imagine how cold it felt to someone visiting from a warm weather area..LOL..I was also wondering, if you ever put crushed Red pepper on your pizza? Thanks again, for sharing this Awesome video!!! 👌👌👌

So when you said you and and Shane just missed Old Faithful eruption & had to wait an hour, I thought it was an advertisement for the news show '60 minutes.' Was the food at a pizza/ Italian restaurant (with a bar)? If so, I've eaten there & it's great! Can't remember the name. Great times with your son...thanks.

Yes, but thankfully many of the sights at Yellowstone are close-up things so the haze didn't affect the views too much. Idaho a couple days later was sadly a different story. Tough to read about what's going on now in CA.
