Been listening to Yela since 2010 and everyone used to laugh as everyone was into mainstream crap but I knew this artist was unreal, underrated and had a lot to offer. So then came Trunk muzik returns, Love story dropped and some mixtapes like HOTEL. TBF dropped, then TM3 and people finally saw what I saw way back then. Ghetto cowboy is power too! "You and Me" has probably taken over my favourite "American You"...debatable for sure!

I've been listening to YelaWolf since 2011 and I can say without a doubt that he has written amazing hooks before but Lightning is his best ever. The melody, the lyrics, the poetry. This is songwriting at it's best. As far I'm concerned YelaWolf is one of the greatest artists/songwriters of all time.

Slumerican for life! The little boy at the end releases the fireflies and keeps his eye on just one of them even though they're several flying around, could mean that the lighting bug represents hip hop and Yelas career. Out of all the inspirations he's had, he kept that eye on that one goal, to capture the lighting in the bottle and follow your dreams no matter where you come from or what you go through. Hands down my favorite song on the album. I'm glad that I got visuals for it. That intro working it's way creepily into the verse and that calming hook... they go together beautifully.

Love all this man's music he's a master at the craft!! I think he's one of the most under rated artist in hip hop just cuz he has his own original sound! And I see a lot of haters saying he's this and that! You listen to one track of his and you start to love his sound! He's by far my favorite artist and I dont see that changing he's got such a wide variety of sounds and songs that you never get bored cuz the songs all kinda sound the same from most artists i find but Yelawolf can doit all slow, fast, melodic and just hard-core country with that down south flavor that just keeps you in such a good mood! Hes got songs for all moods thats one of the main reasons I think he's the best rapper under Em!🤬💯

The first time I heard your verse on the Shady Cypher video years ago I was an immediate fan. I made sure to see Yela when he came to Perth a few years back. I blasted Trial by Fire all Summer long when it came out, I cranked Trunk Muzik 3 when it also released. I listened to Ghetto Cowboy when it premiered on KZread and was in love straight away. This track Lightning stood out as something special, and I have always loved it. Going through a very challenging period of my life with a very uncertain week ahead of me and I'm gonna forget everything and play this now. thanks michael
